Gapeers Johhanis is located at -240, -412 in the cleric guild in Rivervale.

    You say, 'Hail, Gapeers Johhanis'

Gapeers Johhanis jumps at your voice, he's obviously very focused on a set of beakers on the table. They seem to be holding samples of rotted flesh. Gapeers says, 'Oh my heart! You could have stopped it! Please be careful when entering these chambers. It would be unfortunate if I had dropped and broken these [specimens].'

    You say, 'What specimens?'

Gapeers Johhanis turns to explain the specimens when he accidentally knocks over the beakers. He sucks in a short breath as the beakers crash to the ground, ruining the samples. As Gapeers's skin loses color he says, 'OH NO!! No, not my specimens!! Now what am I to do?! I needed those badly! You did this! You [owe] me now!'

    You say, 'Owe What?'

Gapeers Johhanis says 'You bet you do! You big clumsy Half Elf! These were the remains of unfortunates who were drowned. Not only were they drowned but their bodies clung to life and refused to settle. Products of the horrendous curse of unlife. I'll need you to find three [special samples] of drowned and cursed flesh.'

    You say, 'What special samples?'

Gapeers Johhanis's eyes widen as he realizes you actually might intend to help him. His voice becomes raspy with desperation as he says, 'Oh! Wonderful....uuhhmmm.... well ....You'll need to find undead creatures found in the waters of three different climates. One from a tropical ocean. One from the muddy and slow moving river of a jungle. And one from the stagnate and polluted water of a city's sewer, Freeport would be ideal. Will you really [do this for me]?'

You say, 'I will do this for you.'

Gapeers Johhanis says 'Oh thank goodness! Thank you so much, ______! Those old specimens were much to ancient anyway, fresh ones will help in my mission to heal those who were unfortunate enough to drown and become cursed. If you bring back the three samples I have a little something you might like. Although it will only fit and be of use to one who heals as a profession and is small of stature like myself. Good luck!'

In Erud's Crossing kill a zombie sailor.
--You have looted a Algae Covered Flesh.--

In Feerrott kill a drowned caravan guard or a Greenblood Zombie.
--You have looted a Swollen Flesh.--

In Freeport Sewers kill a drowned citizen.
--You have looted a Waterlogged Flesh.--

Hand Gapeers Johhanis the 3 Flesh.

Gapeers Johhanis says 'Oh....well.....This is nice, but I'll need the swollen, waterlogged, and algae covered flesh before I can reward you.'
Gapeers Johhanis says 'Oh....well.....This is nice, but I'll need the swollen, waterlogged, and algae covered flesh before I can reward you.'

Gapeers Johhanis cheers as you hand him the samples of zombie flesh. He says, 'You have them! Excellent! Thank you very much, ______! Now I have much work to do so shoo before you break something else. Oh and here is your reward. It's an anklet that all our acolytes wear. Not only is it functional, but we can show off our beautiful foot hairs at the same time. Us halflings are pretty smart really.'

Your faction standing with Priests of Mischief got better.
Your faction standing with Mayor Gubbin could not possibly get any better.
Your faction standing with Guardians of the Vale got better.
    You gain experience!!
You receive 12 copper from Gapeers Johhanis.
You receive 14 silver from Gapeers Johhanis.
You receive 6 gold from Gapeers Johhanis.

FYI - I was farming bonechips at the 10 pop undead spawn just north of the zone to Rathe Mountians in Feerrot, when all 4 of the spawns at the big ruins came up as zombies. Next thing I knew a greenblood zombie came outta nowhere aggroed me. Maybe it was just coincedence...or maybe not. Kinda reminded me of a slot machine... and the greenblood was the jackpot(hehe). And, oh yeah, he dropped the swollen flesh.

Can't find the greenblood zombies in feerott, and I have tracked the entire river most of the day. Is there some trick to this, or are they not there anymore? The other two skins were simple, so I didn't expect to spend the rest of the day trying to find these stupid greenblood zombies. Not to mention getting killed once by the guard because my camo wore off and he caught me coming out of the water. THAT was fun.

BTW, it is the 'a zombie sailor' and they are at the shipwreck on erud's.

I finished this quest last night without much problem. I got the skin off the drowned citizens (on 5th kill) in WFP first. Next I got the skin off the zombie sailors (on 4th kill) in Erud's Crossing. The greenblood zombies were a little more difficult because I wasn't sure of the spawn point and the patrolling Bouncers. I got hit by one of the Bouncers but was easily able to outrun him to the zone with SOW. The greenbloods are a single spawn near the middle of the river. I got the skin on my 3rd kill. I turned in the skins at the cleric guild (w/indifferent faction) and got my anklet. Now everyone can see my beautiful hairy feet :)
#Anonymous, Posted: May 07 2001 at 10:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Simply create a halfling cleric, get a friend to hold the flesh lumps and give them to your cleric when he logs on. Give them to cleric guy and recieve item. Give item to friend. Log other charact back on. Sure you wont recieve xp for quest but its pretty tiny anyway but ya stop yourself having to collect berrys and wolfskins for days on end.

I'm in the middle of this and everything they say about the faction and the PriestofMischief is true. I checked the site, gave shouts, and killed just about everything in Misty Thicket hoping for a faction increase, but no..... the only way is to do the berry quest. I have done it about 15 times and I'm up to indifferent.

    Some notes:
    1. Bouncers in Feerott cruise the coastline right where the Greenbloods spawn and dwarf clerics are k.o.s.

    2. The guards in freeport will NOT help you if you pull the drowned citizens to them. Kind of shocking to see all these meditating people who went for sandwiches get hammered.

    3. The greenblood mobs are right where the post say they are.

    4. The berries for the berry quest are right where the posts says, little bags on the ground in 3 locations, you can pick up almost infinite.

    5. Be prepared to fork out a lot of time or coin for ruined wolf pelts/skins.

    6. The skins MUST be black. Silver wolf skin will not work nor will LQ or MQ.

    Good luck and happy hunting,

I did this quest at 24 so it was pretty easy for me to port around, including porting directly to Feerott.

There are some good messages about where to find stuff and how to kill it. The only thing I'll add is that I was able to pull the drowned citizens one at a time if I started them with the stinging swarm line of spells. It doesn't aggro the other three in the water. Pull them up the tunnel to dry land.

Also, if you're like me and you port to North Karana and run to Qeynos, stop off and pick up your Hay and Blessed oil, and you can do the Shakey's stuffing Quest at the same time since you're going to Feerott anyway.

    Did it today
    # Apr 13 2001 at 6:42 PM Rating: Default
Did the quest today. Very easy and took about 2 huors over all. Mainly due travelling interuptions in between kills.
The longest wait was for the sailors. Took about 7 spawns of 3 (they spanw 3 at at a time) to drop the flesh.
Drowned citizens are easy if you walk around the rim and make your first left turn. Go down the ramp and walk into the water until you aggro the Mobs. Run back out and fight on dry land..if you have too many, you can easily run to NFP zone if sow is up. Then the spawn will be more spread out for you to kill since they are wusses anyway.
Feerot i zoned in from innothule and took the path left till it ended and headed east until i hit the river. I picked upa greenblood on track and got my skin on the first kill...he was not near where the other posts say..i had to cross the river where it forked, and then found him in the bottom of the river bed on the other side..

Great item and easy quest to do, especially once you hit 20 and get track.

Do I have to be in the water? I tried that and cold see anything :( All help is greatly appreciated as I would really love this anklet.

    Walkthrough - Good Quest
    # Mar 28 2001 at 2:53 PM Rating: Good
This is a good quest for a No-Drop Item (all important on the Rallos Zek PVP server).
First I went to Eruds Crossing for the Zombie Sailor. When Boat docks at Eruds Crossing head to the Backside of the Island...there is a sunken ship where the zombie sailors hang out. I killed 8 of them before the skin I needed dropped.
Next I headed to West Freeport for the Drowned Citizens (they are in the tunnel system behind the false wall to the right as you are looking at the city Gates, they are in a deep well of some sort)...be ready to fight cause they gang up on ya and make it hard to get off a spell. The Fifth one I killed dropped the skin.
Then on to the Ferrot for the last skin. I was 20 when I did the quest so that I could use Tracking...No Greenblooded Zombies showed up on track. I logged off and did a lil research. You gotta kill the Swamp Aligators to get these lil dudes to spawn. Along the banks you will find a spot where the Gators are practically jumping out of the water. Kill these. Finally three Green-blooded zombie popped up on tracking. I killed one and got the skin.
If you are on Rallos Zek and are NOT in a PK guild ....give me a tell I will help ya with the quest if ya want.

By the way the Skins are NOT No-Drop, but they are LORE.
To find the lil guy you need to talk to in Rivervale Enter the Clerics Guild (First Building you come to from the Kithicor Zone). There is a Stage/Platform with a few Halflings on it. Go through entrance at the back of the Stage and to the right. He is there.
And the Item is an anklet and you are still able to see your Fuzzy Feet :o) . You still appear to be Bare footed

Everyone says this is the hardest part of the quest but infact it is as easy as all the others. Somewhere right around the loc p194, p475 there are a ton of gators that just swim in the same spot. Kill them. Save your mana because they dont have more than 60 or 70 hp. One thing you need to do, if you are a druid over 20, is use track anytime you can so you can be checking for the greenbloods and more importantly the bouncers. Hide saved me just in time but I was very lucky. After you killed all of the gators, just wait. With in 2 or 3 min the greenblood should spawn spawn, at least it did for me. I got the flesh on the first kill. The only thing that will take time is beating down all of the gators. )

If you plan on doing this quest, you'll need to increase your faction with the cleric's guild. Twas funny that I conned warmly to the druid guild and to the guards, yet conned apprehensive to another cleric guild. Wasn't so funny when I found out that the only way to increase faction to indifferent was to do the cleric supplies quest (1 black wolf skin, 2 ruined wolf pelts and 1 berry from Misty Thicket).

The berries fell in 3 locations around 810, -1550, so those weren't much of a hassle, nor were finding ruined wolf pelts at the vendors. The major pain was trying to get 25, yes, 25 black wolf skins. I think I found a total of 10 at vendors between EC, Misty Thicket, and Rivervale. The rest I either hunted in EC or Misty or just shouted that I would pay 1pp per. Be prepared to make a few trips to Rivervale in order to drop these off. With all my armor and three bags full of pelts(1 bag of skins, 2 bags of ruined) I was encumbered and needed to unload. I conned indifferent after turning in 16 sets, but still needed 9 more to actually get the quest from the halfling.

Not a bad item, but it took a few hours to take care of the flesh only to find that I needed to hunt newbie wolves for hours in order to get the quest in the first place. *sigh* Halfling clerics must be upset that they only have one quest to become more liked by their guild.
I found the Greenblood with ease...
    # Mar 04 2001 at 7:32 AM Rating: Excellent
Okay, following the post left by Blue (Titled "how TO") I went to the spot on the riverbank (LOC 194, 475 Both pos) and waited for the Greenblood Zombie. I am a Cleric, and so I used Sense the Dead to find him. I kept getting skeles in my target box, so I'd just sit for a few minutes, and then recast. Since the spell locates the nearest undead MOB, if there's a Greenblood nearby, it'll pick that up. I found two that way. The first one, I swam into the river to pull him, (I'm 25, well I was) and even though he was green he agged me. I pulled him back to shore only to find that there was a Bouncer on me. =( So I died, and lost 25, and didn't get my Flesh that time. I went back, looted my corpse, and resumed my search. Found him shortly, killed him, and got the flesh right then. Pretty simple for me anyway. A Druid with Track can do it pretty easily, too. There was one in the zone hunting them, too so I had some competetion! =P But I got lucky and found one first. I offered to use Sense the Dead to help him find another, but he said Track would be easier, thanked me for the offer, and we went our seperate ways.
Oh, BTW. Does anyone know if the NPC will give the Anklet if you just give him the Fleshes, even if your faction isn't high enough for him to give the quest?
I suppose I could try giving him the flesh from the Drowned Citizens, and see what he says. If he plans to give the item, he'll prolly say something like "Impressive, now do you have the rest?" And if he's not gonna give the anklet, he'll say "I shall not help one such as you!!"
Eh, it's just a thought on how to test it. Anyway, I just have to go to Erud's Crossing...<Sigh> Such a long walk!! hehe
    This is an easy quest
    # Mar 03 2001 at 3:48 PM Rating: Excellent
This quest only took me about 2 and a half hours to complete. I went to Erud's Crossing first. I wiped out all of the sailor but didnt find the needed flesh. 10 min later they respawned and I got the flesh on the second one. Next I decided to do the hard part and went to the Feerrott. I found a group of about 20 swamp alligator along the east shoreline and blasted them all with a single earthquake spell. Then I sat on shore to regain some mana (just FYI use wolf form so the Ogre guards dont kill you. It saved my life). Not even 10 min later a greenblood zombie spawns right in my lap. 1 spell and I had his skin. Finally, I headed to Freeport, found the citizens, jumped in and threw an earthquake their way. Result...4 dead citizens. The fourth one I looted had a skin. Back to Rivervale and I had my reward. Everyone who can use this nifty item should get it. Find a druid friend (if your not one), and one of these could be yours with little fuss. Good luck and Happy Hunting!

If you're entering Rivervale from Kithicor, then yes, the first building you encounter will be the Temple of Mischief. Enter through the door. You'll see a little platform with 4 halflings on it. Go through the opening behind them and take a right. Then take a left. Hi, it's Peepy.

This quest isn't all that hard. The only thing about the Greenblood zombies is that they despawn in about a minute. You don't have to attack the swamp alligators. I spent around 2 hours tracking them with my lvl 20 druid. Also, tracking is helpful in avoiding the Ogre Bouncers. There's a little bridge that connects the two shore lines where the Greenblood zombies roam. Sit and track there, and you should be fine. Good luck in finding the zombies.

You don't need a hard hitting spell if they con green, I casted on one once for 184, then tanked it solo the rest of the way down (it was green) Two of us were doing the quest together, and we both got the flesh on the first two kills, I think this flesh drops more often them the others, the drowned citizens in Freeport were camped for 10 min.(they respawn around every 10 min. and took 2 spawns to get), and the sailors in Eruds Crossing took more then a half hour to get a drop (I did this camp solo). These were just times for me, others will vary, but instead of the 8 hour time listed up top, I would say someone could do this in two hours or less, if you can get tports around, or can tport yourself (as I could).
    RE: Drops
    # Feb 17 2001 at 6:14 PM Rating: Default
It took me one respawn at both Erud's Crossing and Freeport to get the flesh to drop.

The Feerrott is a special case - had to kill the gators (thanks for the tips, everyone), then got the flesh from the second Greenblood that spawned. Tip for druids lev. 24 and above - bouncers don't mind wolves )

    # Mar 20 2001 at 1:40 PM Rating: Default
First, thanks for this info! I really hope they don't delete this post as more are added here. Your post saved me a lot of headaches.

However, I'd like to give a Halfling cleric view of this quest. :-) First, I did this one when I was 19th level.

I'll go from easiest to hardest.

Easiest part of this quest is the Erud's Crossing. Real easy. If they're more than green to you, there's two at the front of the ship (right of the mast sticking out of the water). Lull one and pull the other. Bring them up on shore and kill them. I got my lore item on the second kill. The only thing about this is the long boat ride. Oh, for those not familiar with the area, do not go swimming on the side of the island the boat comes in on. There's a nasty shark that hangs out at the dock and you'll probably see it attack the cat people that are near the shore. Fortunately, it doesn't swim around (or I never saw it swim by) the sunken ship.

Drunken citizens. If you're careful, you will pull one off when you work your way to the dry tunnel that overlooks the pool. If not, four of them (all green to me) was enough to kill my 19th level cleric when I tried to help a lower level cleric get his lore item. Rmemeber to zone when you're being swarmed. Wait and then go back and try to edge up to just pull one at a time. Do NOT randomly explore the sewers. Mid-30's evil mobs are there. Simply bind yourself to the west gate and then gate out of there when you're done.

Zombies. This is the hard one. Not the zombies nor the alligators. What is hard is the Ogre bouncers. There's one by the name of Hurd that even patrols the spot you need to be at on the riverside. I had the help of a mid-level Dwarf warrior and we still ended up getting killed. Dropped a level there. It is for this reason that I laugh at the idea that this is a 14th level quest. Maybe for druids, but not for Halfling clerics. My best words of advice is makes friends with a player that has a Ogre character that can easily take out the alligators and zombies. The bouncers won't bother and kill their Ogre character. And that's how I got this last item. What to raise the level on this quest for Halfling clerics, I have no idea. I guess high enough that they can kill the Ogre bouncers. As for doing this in a party, only do that if the only thing the party is expecting of you is to hide at the location.

    Does it go Further?
    # Feb 08 2001 at 9:46 PM Rating: Decent
I was just curious if this might go further. It is an Acolytes piece, and from what I have seen with the other *cleric* diety related type items in other cities there are different levels of items. A friend of mine did it and he said that it looked like it could go further based on maybe what was said when returning the flesh. Just curious if anyone else has tried.
