Gapeers Johhanis is located at -240, -412 in the cleric guild in Rivervale.

    You say, 'Hail, Gapeers Johhanis'

Gapeers Johhanis jumps at your voice, he's obviously very focused on a set of beakers on the table. They seem to be holding samples of rotted flesh. Gapeers says, 'Oh my heart! You could have stopped it! Please be careful when entering these chambers. It would be unfortunate if I had dropped and broken these [specimens].'

    You say, 'What specimens?'

Gapeers Johhanis turns to explain the specimens when he accidentally knocks over the beakers. He sucks in a short breath as the beakers crash to the ground, ruining the samples. As Gapeers's skin loses color he says, 'OH NO!! No, not my specimens!! Now what am I to do?! I needed those badly! You did this! You [owe] me now!'

    You say, 'Owe What?'

Gapeers Johhanis says 'You bet you do! You big clumsy Half Elf! These were the remains of unfortunates who were drowned. Not only were they drowned but their bodies clung to life and refused to settle. Products of the horrendous curse of unlife. I'll need you to find three [special samples] of drowned and cursed flesh.'

    You say, 'What special samples?'

Gapeers Johhanis's eyes widen as he realizes you actually might intend to help him. His voice becomes raspy with desperation as he says, 'Oh! Wonderful....uuhhmmm.... well ....You'll need to find undead creatures found in the waters of three different climates. One from a tropical ocean. One from the muddy and slow moving river of a jungle. And one from the stagnate and polluted water of a city's sewer, Freeport would be ideal. Will you really [do this for me]?'

You say, 'I will do this for you.'

Gapeers Johhanis says 'Oh thank goodness! Thank you so much, ______! Those old specimens were much to ancient anyway, fresh ones will help in my mission to heal those who were unfortunate enough to drown and become cursed. If you bring back the three samples I have a little something you might like. Although it will only fit and be of use to one who heals as a profession and is small of stature like myself. Good luck!'

In Erud's Crossing kill a zombie sailor.
--You have looted a Algae Covered Flesh.--

In Feerrott kill a drowned caravan guard or a Greenblood Zombie.
--You have looted a Swollen Flesh.--

In Freeport Sewers kill a drowned citizen.
--You have looted a Waterlogged Flesh.--

Hand Gapeers Johhanis the 3 Flesh.

Gapeers Johhanis says 'Oh....well.....This is nice, but I'll need the swollen, waterlogged, and algae covered flesh before I can reward you.'
Gapeers Johhanis says 'Oh....well.....This is nice, but I'll need the swollen, waterlogged, and algae covered flesh before I can reward you.'

Gapeers Johhanis cheers as you hand him the samples of zombie flesh. He says, 'You have them! Excellent! Thank you very much, ______! Now I have much work to do so shoo before you break something else. Oh and here is your reward. It's an anklet that all our acolytes wear. Not only is it functional, but we can show off our beautiful foot hairs at the same time. Us halflings are pretty smart really.'

Your faction standing with Priests of Mischief got better.
Your faction standing with Mayor Gubbin could not possibly get any better.
Your faction standing with Guardians of the Vale got better.
    You gain experience!!
You receive 12 copper from Gapeers Johhanis.
You receive 14 silver from Gapeers Johhanis.
You receive 6 gold from Gapeers Johhanis.

They hang around the river in the Feerot - just get yourself a necro or a SK who can sense undead then just hang around the riverbank doing so - I've found three that way by accident just practicing the skill with my SK.
i am goona do this for fun hehe

I found this quest a piece of cake for my level 24 druid. Just follow the directions given in the postings. The greenblood part was most perplexing, but found that if you kill 3 or more gators and/or pirhanas, the zombies would start to appear. If you kill enough gators or pirhanas, the greenbloods will aggro you. It didnt seem to matter what part of the river you were in.

Just wanted to post this cause I thought I got lucky, the first 2 skins from Erud's crossing and WFP came very easy. However when I went to Feerott finding the Greenblood Zombie was difficult I just swam around trying to track him for an hour and a half, finally I just logged. Last night when I logged back in he was right in front of me, I just rooted him and one cast of "Combust" and he was dead.

This anklet is great for a HLF as they have the faction needed to dot he quest.

1.) the items are LORE and are NOT no drop.
2.) get a higher lvl (30 or so ranger/druid to help) as these mobs are a push over for higher lvls.
3.) the drowned citizens are as stated in wfp through the secret wall in the south corner of the newbie zone.
4.) the zombie sailors are at the wreckage on the back of the island and you will have to swim to them to pull them.
5.) the greenblood zombie is the meat and potatos of this quest, Bring a Tracker and watch out for the roaming Ogre Bouncers (GUARDS) as they are mid 30s and hit real hard. I found the greenbloods at this LOC in the river on the west fork N500 P600 and he only spawns for 12secs just kill parahas and gators in the area had they spawn i had 4 on track at one time and it only took 15minutes to get them to start spawning. I killed some extras to see if they all had the flesh and they did so kill one and you should have it.

Conclusion: the item is very good for a Wis caster till you can afford the eboots and they have ac and other stats.

*if you are on bertox I will help you get the stuff for this quest just send a tell to Jervice.

drowned citizens are in west fp zone, at the gates, look the direction as if you were heading out of of fp, and follow the left wall, keep following the wall till you go through the secret wall, and soon as you go through, go left, and keep going till you reach a pool, jump down the pool and there they are

When you first see the pool, you can't see its exit - a tunnel directly underneath the hallway you're in. If you creep around on the ledge and follow the left wall, you eventually reach the water tunnel and can wade in.

The citizens hit kinda hard and disease you, and it's easy to get stunned and disoriented in the pool. The last time I went, there were three player corpses at the bottom!
    Uhhhh...

Unless you are level 20 or higher (higher if not melee class), I don't recommend 'jumping in the pool' to take on upwards of 5 drowned citizens. It may be a quick way to spawn yourself back to your bind point, but I perfer my gate spell thanks.

    # Dec 14 2001 at 4:18 PM Rating: Decent
Just got mine. On the FV sever Greenbloods are VERY hard cause at Level 15 TLC kicks in and Druids dont yet have tracking. I am 14 and the GB was light Blue. Spent 3 nights and found it in the EAST fork of the river at the southern end. The first one I saw despawn just as I got to it, the next I was able to get to it before it poofed (45 seconds?). The Erud Skin was tough but after 3 kills I got the flesh. The FP Skin was VERY hard cause 5 mobs are linked and tough to get just one. Killed 6 FP Zombie to get the skin. TY FP Gaurds.

TLC (Trivial Loot Code) has been removed from the game. I did the quest with my 42 Ranger and he was able to get the items no problem.

The message to which you were responding was posted by someone playing on the FV server. Or the Roleplay server. TLC is in force in all zones of that server to prevent item farming.
    Where I found greenblood zombies

I too spent a good 2 hours searching up and down the river for the greenys.

Wasted lots of time around -500, -500 and the southern most bridge, but there is NOTHING there. An alligator might swim by every 15 minutes, but you'll rarely be able to see it thanks to the Feerott's perpetual darkness. In fact, I turned up my gamma correct 2 clicks. Seemed to help a bit.

Maybe there's more than one spawn point, but after chancing on the 3 piranas in the southern part of the WEST fork of the river, I nuked them out of sheer boredom. Low and behold! A greenblood zombie popped! Loc was around -1153, 756. This could be the spawn point since in my observation all he was doing was swimming in place. He was light blue to me at 15 seasons.

    One more skin to go...

I gave an extra blessing to Karana today.

Since the gods have implemented this TLC rule, I was fearful that I would be too experienced (15 seasons) to reap the fruitage from journeying to Eurd's Crossing and stipping flesh off those zombie sailors. A well-founded fear since these synchronized swimming sailors range from 10 to 12 zombie years.

Imagine my relief when I discovered not only I found Algae Covered Flesh on the third zombie, but also that soloing these mobs are a piece of wedding cake. Occasional bronze weapons drop as well, but much too rare to justify the swim to shore as the zombies are slashing at your feet.

Let's see if my luck will continue. Greenblood zombies are next. OOC: And I'm one orange bubble from 16! :P

All the drowned Citizens now appear in the big well on the southern tunnel systems of West Freeport. You cant miss them, if you enter the tunnel from the outside.

    Tracking ROCKS
    # Sep 14 2001 at 8:02 PM Rating: Decent
As mentioned below (and probably above) the zombies spawn in the river. Piranhas and Swamp Gators are the place holders. Took me about two hours during Ferrott nighttime (too @#$%@! dark) but after nuking the place holders the GB zombies started to spawn. After you hit level 20 and get track it is all smooth sailing. Maybe try "tracking" down a ranger or level 20+ druid to lend a hand. Anyway, I finished the quest today. Damn those Anklets look nice!

neg 500, neg 500 or thereabouts. You need to be in the river. Kill all aligators and large parahna and the zombie will spawn. Took me about 15 minutes of blowing up aligators before I got my zombie.

The only shoes I have seen on a female Halfling was Golden Efreeti Boots that drop I Sol.

I killed the zombie saliers several times to get their algae covered flesh, and one even dropped bronze weapon, not bad hunting when you are sick of the willowisps.

Are the other skins No drop?
