This is the 7th Crusader test.
You say, 'Hail, Arch Duke Xog' Arch Duke Xog says, 'These are the sacred unholy grounds of the Crusaders of Greenmist and the Scaled Mystics. If you do not belong to us, you must leave this temple at once or learn great suffering in the name of Cazic-Thule.' You say, 'What about the Crusaders of Greenmist?' Arch Duke Xog appears surprised at your words. 'You know of Greenmist? The Unholy Khukri of Rile? We once had knowledge of this weapon, but when our great cities were destroyed in 1056 A.G., so, too, were all the great libraries. We lost all records. An explorer named [Argest] claimed to have found one library still intact. Pure babble.' You say, 'Who is Argest?' Arch Duke Xog says 'Once a Lord of Pain, Argest is now a great explorer. No lizard has seen more of Kunark than he. He returned one season ago to tell tales of an [ancient library]. He said that he believed that there he would find a tome which would reveal the location of the ancient crusader weapon, Greenmist.' You say, 'What about the ancient libraries?' Arch Duke Xog says 'There are many ancient libraries yet to be discovered. Our once great cities have been decimated, if not by our foes, then by nature itself. Within the outlands are many ruins which have yet to reveal themselves. We look forward to the discovery of these ruins by such explorers as Lord [Argest] the Great.' You say, 'Where is argest?' Arch Duke Xog becomes despondent at your question. 'Alas, our chance of locating Greenmist is lost as long as Argest remains missing. Reports have come in from the Legion's deep range patrols that he may be in the Frontier Mountain range. At least, that is where the patrol captain found Argest's walking staff. He might have been captured, killed or even digested!!' PART I First you must collect six scrolls. The scrolls are located in the following places: I is dropped by the "failed crypt raider" in Kaesora. He also drops a note that reads: I have found one more of the scrolls and have learned the final three were en route to be rescribed in some ancient city called Torsis. When I find them I shall see that the final four are rejoined in my masters realm. The reference to Torsis leads you to the City of Mist. II, III, and IV are dropped by the Spectral Courier. V is dropped by the dark librarian in Castle Mistmoore. VI is dropped by the dark librarian assistant in Castle Mistmoore. PART II After collecting the scrolls, you must see and free the imprisoned Argest. In the Frontier Mountains goblin caves at approximately -2110, +1720, -435, kill "a goblin penkeeper" and "a goblin penmaster" (and place holders) until you loot: A Bone Key A Bone Necklace A Stone Key An enslaved iksar (wearing chain armor) is found in the goblin caves at approximately -2165, +1635, -435 (left side spawn, the placeholder is "an iksar slave" on Legion of Cabilis faction). You say, 'Hail, an enslaved iksar' an enslaved iksar looks up at you. You can tell his spirit is broken. His scars speak of a severe beating. You say, 'Where are the scrolls of Vok Na Zov?' an enslaved iksar says, 'Forget them. I believe all six scrolls lie in the [Kaesora Library] and that is no safe place for any explorer. The scrolls are not readable by any living person, but I came here in search of a machine which may be able to decipher them, the [Stupendous Contraption]. Should you return to Cabilis, see that the Arch Duke hears of the scrolls.' You say, 'What is this Stupendous Contraption?' an enslaved iksar says, 'I have learned it was a machine tinkered by a legendary gnome. It has many uses. It lies in the slave pens of Droga. Perhaps it may be used to decipher the [Scrolls of Vok Na Zov]. I have leearned that it will not work without a [contraption needle]. Luckily I have found one in my journeys.' You say, 'I need the contraption needle.' an enslaved iksar says, 'The contraption needle is a piece of the machine, the [Stupendous Contraption]. It won't operate without it and if you want it, you're going to have to bring me the [pen keys].' You say, 'Which pen keys?' an enslaved iksar says, 'Pen keys!! I need the pen keys to get out of here! Find the ones who hold these keys. Bring me the key to pen number 1 and both keys to the pen gates. Do so and I shall give you the [contraption needle].' Hand him the three keys. an enslaved iksar says, 'Oh no!! The bargain was, you bring me the keys to the main gates and the pen key to cell one.' an enslaved iksar says, 'Oh no!! The bargain was, you bring me the keys to the main gates and the pen key to cell one.' an enslaved iksar escapes with a flash, but before he goes, he speaks, 'At last!! The keys which shall bring me freedom! I thank you and here is the contraption needle. Good luck.' You receive a Coarse Iron Needle. In the Temple of Droga jail area, find "a goblin prison warden" at -52, +1078, -251. It drops Droga Jail Key (Temporary, used for opening jail doors). This is for the post revamp version of the zone. For the TLP version of this zone, you'll need someone to pick the locks. In the pottery wheel (called Tinmizer's Stupendous Contraption) at -197, +1114, -249, combine: Coarse Iron Needle Illegible Scroll Illegible Scroll Illegible Scroll Illegible Scroll Illegible Scroll Illegible Scroll This produces a Stupendous Tome. Turn in this item along with your Hero's Khukri to Arch Duke Xog to complete the quest. Arch Duke Xog says, 'A true crusader would have brought to me what I requested. The Hero Khukri and the Tome of Vok Na Zov.' Arch Duke Xog says, 'A legible tome of the scrolls of Vok Na Zov! What a find this is!! May the unholy curses of Cazic flow through you. Please accept the weapon of a Lord of Pain. To abandon it is to abandon our ways and earn yourself the hatred of our order.' Your faction standing with Crusaders Of Greenmist got better. Your faction standing with Legion Of Cabilis got better. You gain experience!! (20% of an AA at Level 59) You receive 7 platinum from Arch Duke Xog. hmmm droga...i haven't seen any of the keys listed above drop yet and i've spent around 3 hours in the jail. I've aquired the copper, steel and iron keys but havent seen any others...whats the deal?

Remember:
As someone said before, you ONLY need 3 keys. The bronze key just opens the cell to Argest so as long as you have shrink potions, a shaman or rogue with you, you will not need o loot that one

I have now obtained all 3 scrolls in about 3 nites hunting, with no double-ups.What i have noticed is this.... face east looking at the first stables the room just inside the stables to your left spawns 1 SC , this droped one of my 3 scrolls, the room to the right hand side when facing east still spawns the other SC, this droped my second scroll. ok now look into the other stables facing west , at the back of the stables there is a door on your lefthand side , at the back of this room spawned my 3 sc and the 3rd scroll. one scroll from each spawn spot . I got my three CoM scrolls and two from teh same Spectral Courier Spawn. The two i got from the same place was from the back of the Southwestern room. I got the other one from the Western Stable area in the more southern of the two rooms. Hope that makes some sense and helps;).
OK. I would go along with that, but tonight's experience prevents me from doing so. I killed the SC in the back and looted his scroll. Because it was pretty easy for me (48 Iksar SK) and my druid (lvl 38) to kill in the back, I just camped there, waiting on the SC to spawn in that same point. Well, twice I did this, and twice I got the same scroll. I figured that maybe the others drop in other rooms. So I camped one of the other rooms. Luckily, one room only had one mob in there, so me and the druid ruched him and took him out quickly. Guess who pops? Right! The Spectral Courier! I wanted to finish him quickly, so I HT'd him and killed him fast. I then looted the scroll, and guess what? It said I already HAD it. I was like WTF?! I don't think that the couriers necessarily spawn in any one particular spot. Yes, they spawn in the stables, but no, the different scroll are random... at least I think. Needless to say, I'm a little ticked. Any suggestions guys?

Only 1 scroll down so far from CoM but I have killed the SC about 10 times and get the same lore one everytime.

there are atleast 2 spawns for the SC...1 on the left stable side, 1 on the right. (not the same section of the stables, east and west ones...there are 2 stables) i've gotten 2 scrolsl so far...dunno bout 3rd :(

courier still spawns in stables and seems the 3rd scroll is somewhat rare i had to kill him 9 times before i got the 3rd one also the invoker is a new spawn but it doesnt interfere with courier spawn and rarely drops A Dark Incantation scroll no idea what its for hope that helps

I to have been spending some time looking for the third scroll in CoM. We cleared the stables 7 times with no Courier Sun night.Found a new MOB a Spectral Invoker common pop that night who was in the same area where the courier spawns. A Week ago we had the Courier spawn twice but I had those scrolls from a previous visit. Did this Invoker cat take over the Courier's spot?
I have a hard time with finding the 3rd illegible scroll. One poster indicated that the 3rd scroll was dropped by a courier spawned in the dojo. However, where is the DOJO? I know stables, temple, goo house, ramp, and the castle entrance where you go in for the reaver. But where is this dojo???

Is this quest broken? been camping the prisoner for hours and argest wont pop.

Does anyone know what we are supposed to say to the prisoner? I know I'm supposed to hand him the keys but how did anyone come to that conclusion?

Did you get the stone key to drop Tfuunk ? if you did please post the name of the mob and room the mob spawns in at. i have beenon this quest almost 2 months with no luck . i have clear the inner jail cells for up to 3.5 hours and did that a few times but the Stone key never drops.

You actually only need the 3 keys if you have a rogue with you. The Bone Key, and Bone Necklace Key are found on the penmaster in the outer part of the jail. Use these to get to the inner part. The room next to the iksar slaves/enslaved iksar has the Penkeeper or place holder in it. He rare drops the stone key. These are the only 3 keys you need to hand in. The 4th key just lets you into the room with the enslaved iksar. Bring a rogue and you will save a lot of camping time.

aye, he spawns in the library but may leave quickly. our tracker was able to track him shortly after we entered Kaesora and he said he had to be in the library. but by the time we got there he said he was far away from us now. so im guessing he wanders about a lot. we never got him even after bout 4 hours.

i just did this part of the quest and i gave the inslaved iksar in banded armor and he told me that the bone key and neckless where fine , the bronze keys is not a problem to get either. the only thing that i can see is buged is the stone key. i cleard the inner cells and the outer cell chamber for 2 1/2 hours with no luck on the stone key ever droping. GM said to bug report it and i hope that this gets looked at soon so i can finish the quest and move to Greenmist.

I have just finished the 3 pieces from CoM and here is what i noticed. there are 2 Ph's for Carrior. one in stables witch has 2 of the 3 on him, we killed him like 10 times in 2 days and he always had same 2 i already had. late on the 2nd day the one inside Dojo poped up and finaly i got the 3rd. Most likly the dojo spawn has 1 of 3 and that one never drops off the stable spawn.

Finished the quest today.
Penmaster outside the jail drop a bone key and a bone necklace. It spawn near the tent in front of the double door. A bone necklace is to open the first double door. A bone key is to open the second double door. To use the key, hold the key and press 'U'.
Penkeeper inside the jail drop a bronze key, a stone key and a steel key. It spawn in the cell directly facing the double door. A bronze key is to open the cell in which the quest npc a enslaved iksar spawn. A stone key is to open the cell with the stupendous machine inside. A steel key is to open the cell in which the penkeeper spawn.
3 keys are required to be given to the enslaved iksar (the one in banded armor, not the naked slave iksar). They are a bone necklace, a bone key and a stone key. He will return a coarse iron needle (look like a piercing weapon).
If you didn't bring shrink potion, shadow step will help you get into the 'stupendous machine' cell and also get out of the jail, but, for safety, you have to clear the goblins first.
One last word, turn in the tome and your hero's khukri to Arch Duke Xog.

I've been at the Penkeeper inside the jail for about 11 hours now, and he's dropped:
Steel key : opens door to his room
Copper key : gave to a monk and it worked for the Steel shackle quests
and
Iron key : ??
No luck on the Bronze or stone keys for me =\

OMFG, why won't this thing drop my last scroll. I've been in CoM since the beggining of level 47 and now fresh into level 50 awaiting the last scroll drop. Got the first 2 at 47 thinking this would be a piece of cake. But now after 17 attempts to loot this gawd-forsaken scroll, I'm ready to give up. I've had my History of the Greenmist book since 49 and ready to start for the Greenmist but man I tell ya, this is becoming the most frustrating quest I've ever done. That book is the only reason why I'll keep trying. GRRRRRR!!!!!

There is a bronze key, it opens the door to Argest cell, BUT you dont need it as posted, give him three key bone,necklace and stone and get contraption needle. Without the bronze key you need shrink to get in his cell, but since the stone key opens the door to cell with contraption, you need shrink for that anyway, or after getting needle you need to get another stone key if you dont have shrink in order to get in room with contraption.

Ok, did the quest today, and the key list posted here is WRONG, there is no bronze key, you only need 3 keys to hand to Argest, who is the enslaved iksar who wears regular looking banded armor, the catch phrase used to test him is "what ancient library". The bone, bone necklace, and stone key are all u need to give him for the dagger thingie. Good luck all iksar SK's, let us show the world our might!

I've been on this quest for MONTHS. I keep trying to hand in keys, but keep handing in the wrong four. This time I have a bone key, a bone key ring, an iron key, a copper key, and a stone key... I have yet to see the bronze key. Is it really a bronze key I need?

Gotten one scroll so far. My question is does the spectral courier always spawn from the same spot and does he drop 3 different types of scrolls or are they all the same? I dont want to have a froggy flashback and turn in the wrong scrolls.

Spectral courier spawns in a number of places in the stables area (go across the bridge, turn left, the stables are to the left of the main courtyard). I've seen him spawn in both the northern part of the stables, and the southern half (in one of the rooms flanking the entraceway). He drops 3 different lore, no drop illegible scrolls...so yes, it is a bit like the froglok raiders quest, but at least you've got a 1 in 3 chance of getting the one you want, as opposed to 1 in 10 =)

for anyone that thinks that this quest isn't worth it, well, you need to have this to get greenmist, and now that greenmist is fixed... you get the picture... for stats on greenmist, go to www.everlore.com, click items, and type greenmist into search engine... click on blade of greenmist, and skip past the original post, cuz it is wrong... read the replies to see the actual stats on greenmist... 18 dmg 22 dlg, lotsa stats and greenmist proc

If you are in the room where you got your other 2 keys...you will see the jails. You must go thru the jail bars (shrink potion works) and kill the gobbies in there...He spawned in one of the cells for me.

I have hunted in CoM before and killed the spectral courier, but i thought he dropped the scroll part of the shaman epic... i didnt even look at for he was saying he needed him for 3 days. Does the SC drop 4 different types of scrolls, and if so, how are we to know which ones do we need and which one do the shamans need. This is all in assumption that the info from the shaman was correct.

The SC drops an illegible scroll and some other named scroll. The shaman need the other. You need the illegible. He will only have one illegible each time, but he drops three different ones. Use spell Identify to see if it is II, III, or IV. Since they are lore, you can't loot more than one copy of each. So, just keep on until u have three different ones.

I've Been working on this quest for awile now and am up to the Droga part...
I've killed the Penmaster several times and gotten both bone keys....but can anone tell me where exactly the penKEEPER spawns? I just need to know what PH is his. Penmaster is the one by the simmering pot directly across from the first locked door....

I and a fellow SK just got through with this camp and it took 3 nights. The first night we found and killed the dark librarian quickly, waited for the respawn, and killed her again, getting the scroll for each of us. About that time we heard a shout that the asst. librarian was dead in the hall so we went over and I looted the 2nd scroll. We spent the rest of that night, and 2 more long nights, camping the asst. librarian again for a scroll for my partner. We cleared BOTH rooms on teh small hallway repeatedly with no luck. Finally we decided to go kill the regular librarian to see if we could spawn the assistant. The librarian wasn't up but the library had 3 others in it. We cleared that, then died in a horrible train, which was eventually killed by a high lvl visitor. After CR we went back to the assistant librarian room and killed it for 1 spaawn cycle. Next cycle after that the assistant spawned.
So I can't be positive that there's any triggers to spawn the assistant librarian, but if there is not then she's a rare spawn. I figure it couldn't hurt to clear the library as well trying to spawn her.
Now to get the CoM scrolls...
