This is the third Prayer Shawl Quest. You must do the first two before doing this. Ask Borannin "What chore?" and he will start you on the third quest.

Loremaster Borannin says 'Ahh, some fine specimens indeed, ______. I will have the best of these mounted at once, wish me luck in the contest! Here is the Cloth Prayer Shawl of our people. Before I forget, the council has issued yet another [chore] for you to complete.

You say, 'What chore?'

Loremaster Borannin says 'The council agrees that you have demonstrated a disdain for our enemy, the Kromrif, that rivals our own. They now ask that you demonstrate your loyalty to the Dain by humbling yourself and serving our people. Give this, my seal, to Mordin. He will instruct you further.

  • Mordin Frostcleaver is located in Mordin's Meats at LOC -214, -214.

    You say, 'hail Mordin Frostcleaver'

Mordin Frostcleaver says 'Ah, hello there, and welcome to me shop, Halfling. Ye'll have to excuse the mess but I've been havin a bloody good time here lately. . . HAR HAR, ye get it? Anyways, thanks to you offlanders I now have a selection of some exotic meats never afore seen here on Velious. In addition to supplyin' the freshest meat in Thurgadin I also offer tasks to would-be hunters in the wastes.

  • Give him Borannin's Seal.

Mordin Frostcleaver says 'Hullo ______, I see you've signed on for a bit of food service eh? Well we can always use an extra pair a hands here dat's fer sure. First things first, warsh yer grubby mitts an cook up dinner fer good ol Leif. Shouldn be too tough fer ye, he has simple enough taste. Make him a Tundrabear sandwich an lemme know when he's been fed. Dontcha ferget ta give him this with his meal.

  • He gives you a napkin named "Leif's Napkin" is No Drop.

You say, 'What is a Tundrabear Sandwich?'

Mordin Frostcleaver says 'Dat's easy, ye just take a slab a dat Tundra Kodiak meat and a jug a sauce, put it in da oven, den combine the product with a loaf a bread in a mixin bowl an there ye be.

  • Get a Tundra Kodiak meat, put it in oven with jug of sauces to make Saucy Bearmeat. Put your creation in a mixing bowl with one loaf of bread, which Mordin sells, and combine. If your skill is high enough you get the sandwich. Turn this in to Guard Leif (location -284, +492, on the way to Grand Historian) with the napkin and get a "Used Napkin" back.

Guard Leif says 'Well I'll be derned. An outlander that can make a good Bearmeat 'n Bread! Thank ye, _______.'

Lorekeeper Brita says 'Ohh, that's better. I get so touchy when I'm hungry. I should probably go apologize to Derrin for being snappy. Please return this to Mordin for me.'

You receive Brita's Napkin from Lorekeeper Brita. Hold onto this, you will turn it in on the next step.

You say, 'What is Ulthork Meat Pie?'

Mordin Frostcleaver says 'Hmm, lemme look that one up. Been awhile since I made one. Here we are, two Ulthork meats, a vinegar and a spices in a mixin bowl. Put yer meat mix, a clump a dough, an a pie tin in da oven an yer good ta go.

This requires two ulthork meat, and the problem here is that if you're not careful you will eat the meat. Most of the items you need to collect or make are edible. I know the kodiak meat and bunny meat do not get eaten, but everything else seems to disappear if not below your food in your inventory. I could not find any snake eggs in Thurgadin for the clump of dough, so I ported to Misty Thicket to get them. The pie tin is another stumbling block here unless you are good at smithing and pottery, or you have a friend who is. To smith the Pie Tin you first need to make a ceramic lining, so your pottery has to be trained somewhat. I had relatively good success with a 25 pottery, whereas my smithing is in the low 100's and I don't think the pie tin is trivial to me yet. Luckily the pie tin, and the pot in the previous step, are regular items that anyone can craft and give to you if you lack the proper skills.

  • Turn the pie and the napkin in to Lorekeeper Brita in the back of the Library and receive a dirty pie tin which you take back to Mordin for the final step in this quest.

Mordin Frostcleaver says 'More dirty dishes, eh? Well outlander, only one more meal to serve and I'll be done with ye. Make a snow griffin souffle fer the Grand Historian himself. It's his favorite.'

Your faction standing with Kromrif has been adjusted by -1.
    You gain party experience!!

  • The final task is to create a Snow Griffin Souffle. The person you are making this for is none other than the Grand Historian Thoridain himself.

You say, 'What is Snow Griffin Souffle?'

Mordin Frostcleaver says 'This one's a bit tricky, ya toss four snow griffin eggs and a pack of spices in de oven. Ye must bake it just right or it's all gunna be wasted. When yer done bring it to Thoridain and if ye did it right he'll give ye his special seal. Just show Borannin that seal and yer shawl and he'll know that yer finished in the kitchen.

  • So now you need 4 Griffin eggs. I set out and with a little help was able to get 4 eggs to drop in about 3 hours. It would have gone faster, but I had trouble finding the Griffins. All in all I'd say we got the 4 eggs in about 12 - 15 Griffins, maybe even less.

  • Once you've made the souffle turn it in to Grand Historian Thoridain with the napkin. Here I learned something useful. I forgot to turn in the napkin when I turned in the souffle. In my excitement in creating the souffle I had completely forgotten. I was about to petition that he had eaten my item when I realized the forgotten napkin, so I gave him the napkin and to my suprise it worked.

Grand Historian Thoridain says 'My compliments, _________, what a wonderful dish! Please accept my personal Seal as a token of my appreciation. May it give you power over your adversaries.'

Your faction standing with Kromrif has been adjusted by -2.

  • He gives you his Seal to give to Borannin with your second Prayer Shawl. Turn them into Loremaster Borannin.

Loremaster Borannin says 'Well done ______, the council will be impressed with your effort. Here is the woven prayer shawl, wear it with pride. I know there is talk of great plans for you, be sure to come back and ask me what the council has [brewing].

  • You receive Seal of Thoridain.

Your faction standing with Kromzek has been adjusted by -1.
Your faction standing with Kromrif has been adjusted by -5.

    You say, 'What is brewing?'

Loremaster Borannin says 'As of now they have nothing for me to tell you. Bear with me _______, there will soon be much to do!

For those who want it sumed up, here is a shopping list of items you will need to do the whole quest. This assumes no failures, so plan accordingly :)

    1 Tundra Kodiak Meat (Non-stackable)
    2 Jug of Sauces (Stackable)
    1 Loaf of Bread (Stackable)
    1 Mixing Bowl (Container)
4 Snow Griffin Eggs (Stackable, No Drop)
    3 Spices (Stackable)
    2 Frost Bunny Meat (Non-stackable)
    2 Flasks of Water (Stackable)
    1 Pot (Non-stackable, Not a container)
    2 Ulthork Meat (Stackable, edible)
    1 Vinegar (Stackable)
    1 Snake Egg (Stackable)
    1 Bottle of Milk (Stackable)
    1 Cup Flower (Stackable)
    1 Pie Tin (Non-stackable, Not a container)

One last note...I did this whole third quest without an open inventory slot, since I had to carry around a mixing bowl. So you don't have to worry about not getting an item from one of the NPC's if all of your slots are filled, anything they give you, including the shawl and the seal, fit in your backpacks.

    Trivials
    # Dec 07 2003 at 9:33 PM Rating: Excellent
In doing the whole shawl quests it is primarily about trade skills and trivials. You must get proficient at certain trade skills in order to stand a reasonable chance of success. As such this is a baking quest. The higest trivial for this quest is 127.
I would suggest that you do the following.

    1. Dump 21 points into this at your guildmaster.
    2. Get a filet knife from somewhere.
    3. Go to the meat shop at Thurgadan and see Mordin with whatever mindbuff you can have at your level and about 75 plat.
    4. Buy stacks of bearmeat
    5. Make bearmeat filets (bear meat and filet knife in oven) up to a rediculously high trivial of 143 (for under 75 plat WOOT).

    Do the quest.
    The trivials are:

    Tundrabear Sandwich (54 Trivial)
    Snow Bunny Stew (103 Trivial)
    Ulthork Meat Pie (95 Trivial)
    SnowGriffin Souffle (127 Trivial)

    Good Luck

    Marinebow Sniper (53 Ranger)
    Canesdoctor Syphcurer (60 Cleric)
    Caneschanter Endowed (62 Ench)
    Marshel Mathers (62 Shaman)
    D Ro Server, Shadow Congress.

You can run, but you will just die TIRED.

YOU CAN SKIP THIS SHAWLYOU CAN SKIP THIS SHAWL

After I spent countless hours farming griffon eggs against competition of around 8 or 9 people at a time I figured I had to offer some salvation to those that might wish to avoid this.

    Things you need:
1 person who has done this shawl before and kept there Seal of Thoridain
    1 2nd Shawl

Its simple really have someone who has done the 3rd shawl hand Loremaster Borannin the Seal of Thoridain, that they got back when they turned in thier 2nd shawl. Then the lucky recipiant of this will turn in thier second shawl and recieve the third shawl and Seal of Thoridain. Thus skipping the satanic snow griffons!

Did this tonight with a guildmate. Still works as of 8/9/04. Just have the Shawl quester Hail the Loremaster, then the person with the seal turn it in, the immediately have the shawl quester turn in his / her 2nd shawl, and VIOLA! Instant 3rd shawl!

MQ's Work but you must Hail and get the NPC to face you first, whoever the NPC is facing he will give it too if in close proximity so tell the person who just handed it in to stand a little back then hail and hand yours in.
Did the same on my pally eoic lost my first MQ but got my Second using this method/ May not be completeley correct but it worked for me.

    This DOES NOT WORK

I tried it last night .. the person that gave the seal got the third shawl not me. Dont do it. You dont have to do a lot of extra work really, but why waste the time.

Taminer is correct, this can be done that way.

Rackus, you got the result you did, because you gave the shawl FIRST, then he gave the seal.

MQ always has the item go to the person who gave the LAST piece.

How do I know this works? I just did it. My ceric has his 7th shawl, and just needs the escort to finish 8th. he also had the seal sitting in the bank.

My druid had done 2nd shawl, and was stopped there, due to lack of tradeskills.

Took both to thurg. logged cleric, handed seal, camped, logged druid, handed shawl.

Now my druid has 3rd shawl, and the seal, and my cleric has one more open spot in his bank :D

Not sure, but i just did it again, to get the third shawl for my level 24 chanter. Swapped some giant heads and toes to him with shared bank, did first two shawls, camped to druid, handed the piece in, then camped back to chanter, handed shawl, and bam, yet another 3rd shawl.

I guess you could always have your friend turn in the seal, then camp, then turn in the shawl. No way for him to end up with the shawl that way.

Honestly, I think your friend screwed up, and just doesn't want to admit to you that he turned his in last.

I'd try it again, easier to get 4 toes and 10 heads, than to get the stuff for 3rd shawl.

And yes, I was hunting them near IC zone in EW.

** Everything you need to do make the the baked goods (except the meat/eggs) can be found in PoK pretty close to the above merchant. You also have to make a pie tin and a pot. The pot has the higher trivial, 50.

    Good luck!

If you want a real fast, and cheap way to get baking to 140 try this. With a 220 wis I bought 20 or so stacks of bear meat at 1.7pp a stack. Then i made a fillet knife by combining 3 metal bits, a scaler mold, and water ( trivial is 76 i think). Combine one meat, and filleting knife in a oven. You will get the knife back wether you fail or succeed. Went from 0 to 140 in about 40 min., getting from 3 to 7 skill ups per stack of meat. Hope this helps. One more thing, the hardest thing to make is the Griffon thing, and it trivials at less then 140.

This is by far the easiest, fastest, and one of the cheapest ways to raise baking to  143. I had 250 int at the time and made it in just about 40 minutes as stated above and had only spent about 30pp in bear meat. Gonna try patty melts next to get a bit higher and then continue w/ this god forsaken quest. :boozing:

This is the easiest and fastest skill to increase.
These are the recipes I used to get up to skill 190 or so, all of these are combined in either an oven or a spit...

Filleted Meat - Meat (lion, bear, wolf or mammoth) + filleting knife Trivial 143

Patty Melt - bear meat, loaf of bread, cheese + non-stick frying pan Trivial 193

What makes this so easy is the availability of bear meat. You can buy all you could ever want from the butcher (Mordin) in Thurgadin. The cheese is sold by a good gnoll in JaggedPine Forest (Chef Brargus).

The filleting knife and the skillet are made from smithing, the recipes are as follows. Both are always returned on a combine, whether success or failure.

Filleting knife - 3 metal bits, scaler mold, water in a forge Trivial 76

Non-stick frying pan - metal bits, frying pan mold, flask of water, ceramic lining Trivial 91

The frying pan mold is found in JaggedPine forest as well

    Good Luck!!

3 days hunting griffins and baking at 143 and failed this recipe also. I'm mad at the fact I spent all that time on it and failed at something that should have been trivial!
    Few tips

I had 156 in baking when attempting this and i failed once in making the bunny stew - resulting in an seemingly endless chase of bunny meat, anyway as safe precaution, have double ingredients of all - if you succed the first time, make an additional set of everything as this quest can be Multiquested, you give food, other give napkin.
Easiest Way to get baking to 135
    # Apr 27 2003 at 11:10 PM Rating: Decent
Here it goes, to get your skill to 135 very very easily and relatively cheap you only require 3 items, but in large amounts. What I did was get a couple of 10 slot containers, then, I went to East commons, I bought bat wings from Katha Firespinner, and in the same zone, frosting from Parthar. Combine them to make Batwing Crunchies to skill level 46. Then go to East Freeport and buy some fresh fish from Tanlok Harson, and fish from Katha again, combine them to make Fish Rolls to skill level 135. Thanks to Oakwood Moonblaze for the info.

Definately the easiest way to get baking to 135 in a matter of minutes with very little pp spent. You can also buy the items in PoK. Frosting at baking vendor near bank on neutral side. and the fish and bat stuff in the back next to the pond. kthx.

My wife, Taminy is currently working on this and she asked me to post for her. She was very put out when she read all of the other posts on this shawl and it didn't tell her where any of the peeps were at that she had to feed.Smiley: disappointed So she asked me to put this down to help anyone else that has that question:

Guard Leif: He was found guarding the Paladin Training Hall. He devoured a Tundrabear Sandwich

Trita Coldheart: She was found at home with her husband across from Frostbeard's Furs & Leather. She had the Snowbunny Stew for lunch.

Lorekeeper Brita: She was found putting the history of the Coldain in order at the Temple of Brell. She demanded an Ulthork Meat Pie.(hint: same building that you find Loremaster Borannin)

Grand Historian Thoridain: He was found giving a lecture in the Temple of Brell. He savoured a Snow Griffin Souffle.(hint: same building that you find Loremaster Borannin)

To get your baking skill on up to 190 and above but <200 make lion patty melts. Take one lion meat, 1 cheese, 1 bread and a non-stick frying pan and combine. Bread and cheese are at the zone in at Jaggedpine, Pergan Darkcloud, not dangerous at all. The meat is in the Bazaar back by the water where you zone to the Druic, etc. trainer. It's one of these names, but I don't remember which: Nicoela, Daliea Saeiersa or Samotal Semians. Anyway, she's short ;-)Get your pottery up to make the frying pan, it's cheap. Check out www.eqtrader.com, all this stuff is there.

Okay, this is for you guys who are either of an evil race (like me, Dark Elf) or just don't want to run the whole way out in the boondocks to Jaggedpine forrest for cheese.

The following recipies will take you up to 226 cheaply and quickly. Not to mention, some of the items produced will sell well in the bazaar. :) Start with Batwing crunchies (triv 46), Fish Fillets (triv 82), then Fish rolls (triv 135).

Note: if you want, make Wolf/Lion/Bear/Mammoth Fillets in cream (this recipe is a bit expensive because of some of the ingredients) until triv at 152 at this point. You can save these for making Halas 10lb meat pies later :D or go onto the next recipe:

    Pinemeyer Pasta Trivial at 191.
Halas 10lb meat pies Trivial at 226 and sell very nicely in the bazaar. :)

Also, if anyone needs any of the utensiles, Pots, pans, pie tins, filleting knives, mixing bowls, etc. I will be happy to help! I can make most anything and have made all my own tools. Send me a tell in game on Luclin server if you need/want help!

I read all the messages here about raising cooking skill, and have tried a few of them. I'd like to share with you my findings.

    INTRO:
First of all, I wanted a quick way to do this without worrying about cost. I started by visiting the pally guildmaster in SH and training one point in baking. My regular WIS with my everyday gear is 157. I did not use any devices to raise skill % (although they were being sold in the Bazaar cheaply), nor did I get a keI or put on any WIS gear.

    MATERIALS:
I zoned into the Bazaar and purchased a dairy spoon, a filleting knife and a mixing bowl. Total cost was exactly 25pp for these three tools, and all were purchase within 5 minutes. The bowl is a container.

Then, I zoned back to SH and found a gnome vendor near the Nexus spires that sells a spit and various forms of meat, and even sold rennet and milk.

I bought a spit and then filled one 10-slot bag with 5 stacks each of bear and lion meat to make fillets. The meat costs about 3pp per stack. I filled another 10-slot bag with enough ingredients to make cheese (rennet, milk). The spit is also a container.

Then, I headead over to PoK to where the barbarian fisherman vendor hangs out by a small pool, fishing. He sells unlimmited amounts of fresh fish so I purchased 5 stacks. A stone's throw from this vendor is an erudite that sells unlimmited batwings, so I picked up another 5 stacks.

Total time spent so far - about 35 minutes.

    CLICKING FOR FUN AND PROFIT:
I sat down next to the erudite vendor and faced a wall.

I started by trying to make cheese. Cheese increases came at about one skillup for every 10 combines initially. After expending my supply, I was up to a skill of 13 from the initial investment of one skill point.

Total time spent so far - 45 minutes.

Then I started combining the fish and batwings. These were raising my skill at about the same pace. After I was done combining all my materials, I was at 24 skill.

Total time spent so far - 50 minutes.

I then went on to filleting meat. These combines were much MUCH worse for raising skill. Skills went up at about half the rate as the other methods. After 10 stacks of 20 meats filleted, my skill was only 31.

Total time spent so far - 1 hour.

    RESULTS:
The most convenient thing to do was to make cheese, although it was the most costly. The bowl and spoon need to be crafted, but once you get them, all the mixing materials can be found at the same vendor (and there are many). I made cheese until it trivialled at around 68.

The second most convenient was to fillet meat. Despite the convenience (only one meat needed per attempt), skillups were REALLY SLOW with this method. Also, the meats weren't so cheap either. I decided not to use this method after two bags worth of meat.

I found that combining fish and batwings was the best overall way to raise skill. In PoK, the vendors that sell the ingredients are almost right next to each other, and the ingredients are the cheapest by far. Skillups came fast using this method.

    SUMMARY:
If you want to raise your baking skill as fast and conveniently as possible, go to Shadowhaven, train a point with your guildmaster, find the female gnome vendor near the Nexus spires and purchase a spit.

Take the spires to Nexus, head west to PoK book, zone into PoK, and find the Barbarian fishing by a small pool. Buy 20 stacks of fresh fish from him. Next, find the erudite vendor nearby and purchase 20 stacks of batwings.

Sit in a corner and combine one batwing and one fresh fish in the spit. Do this over and over until it trivials.

Then send me a /tell ingame on the Fennin Ro server and lets start a party. You bring the food.

As a Dark Elf I just loaded up with backpacks full of cheese from the gnoll Chef in the Jagged Pine caves, then went back to Thurg: Mordin sells bread and meat and there's an oven right next to him in his shop, so just buy a couple of stacks of bread and meat, make some patties, turn around, buy another couple of stacks, turn back to the oven and repeat until out of cheese. Started out with bear fillets up to 140-ish, moved on to bear fillets with cream up to 150-ish (which made back 1/3 to 1/2 of the 40pp or so I'd spent on making the fillets, but not as though that's a big deal), then moved on to the pattie melts.

And as a small bonus, when I got fed up with the skill-up grind and took a break for a bit I was able to sell the excess cheese in the Bazaar for 10pp a stack after buying it for 3gps a stack :).

The easiest way by far to raise baking skill is by making fillets. You can combine a filleting knife, which can be made via smithing, or I bought mine in bazaar for 10pp, and a piece of meat. Meats that work with this are Bear, wolf, lion and mammoth. It trivials at 143. There is a merchant in Thurgadin who sells bear meat, I think it's #10 on the EQ Atlas map. I bought 20 stacks, at under 2pp per stack, and now my baking is about 120. It also helps to get C3 when working on skills, because it raises your int by 25. I carry my spit with me and make fillets while medding between fights. Hope this help

Fastest way I've gotten to 135 on baking was making fish rolls (which rock since they're banquet meals and weigh almost nothing). A bat wing and a fish, combine in an oven and there you go... I went from 1 (put a point in baking to get started) to 110 in about an hour and a half.

I agree totally. I'm a druid with int-116 with C3 (wis way above 200 but that doesn't matter here hehe). It took me 25 stacks of Bear meat to go from skill level of 5 to triv (143). And I thought brewing was cheap :)

Skill-ups are determined by whichever is higher; intelligence or wisdom. So your wisdom did help, actually. This has long since been confirmed by SoE, don't listen to any out-of-date sources that say otherwise. And on a side-note: successes are solely determined by your skill level. Go to www.eqtraders.com and read all about it.
PoP, Bazaar, SH, & The Shawl
    # Nov 09 2002 at 8:51 PM Rating: Good
Not finished currently with the shawl, but this is my progress. B4 you begin the shawl quest, get your baking skill up to 130. I did this by increasing my baking to 60 a long time ago, and just making fish rolls in FP till 130. But b4 leaving FP, go get a few snake eggs, & put them in the bank. You'll know soon. Then, go to Plane of Knowlege (If you have Pop. If you dont, while your making fish rolls, go buy a mixing bowl at the Browntoes Bakery), go to the Tradeskill merchants, and in a few min, you'll find a mixing bowl. Go to Bazaar, stock up on 1 Tundra Kodiak meat & 2 Snow Bunny meat. Don't buy Ulthork Meat just yet. And if you don't have Luclin yet, your screwed. Go buy it, it's worth more than $30.00. Then go to Shadow Haven, go to the short section (WARNING: I am an enc, and I can do Illusion: Gnome to fix my House of Stout faction. It is highly suggested if your not an enc that you 1. Sneak or 2. Load up a few plat on a rogue mule and use his sneak. Or if your House of Stout faction is ok, then don't bother this. Expecially if your a short race) go to a smith merchant, and chose. Smithing or pottery, you gotta chose to finish the shawl. I chose pottery because if you go to EQ traders, and spend some time raising pottery skill(Which is easy), you can be a master potterer and not waste a cp over 30pp. Well, if you have either trained, make a Pot & Pie tin. Yet again, look up the recipie on EQTraders. Also but a Spit around PoK or FP.

Ok now we get on the quest. Go to Thurg, talk to Borranin (Or Boring as I call him), talk to the butcher, and initiate the quest. Buy bread from him, then go buy a jug of sauces from the Thurg Exchange, MAke the meat, put a bred loaf and the meat in the mixing bowl, and make the Tundrabear Sandwich (Triv around 40). Give it to Leif, talk to butcher. Go make Snow Bunny Stew. Now you'll realize why I wanted you to make a pot. I spent 4 hours trying to make a pot. You could do it in 10 min. Make sure b4 leaving buy some water flasks. Back to thurg exchange, go make Bunny meat by combinding 2 bunny meat & a jug of sauces in a mixing bowl, buy spices, take the spices, water, meat & pot into your spit, make the stew. Give it to Trita, and talk to butcher.
Pie tin was pre made, so now go to Thurg Exchange, quickly buy Vinegar, Spices, milk & Flour, and leave for bazaar. In bazaar, take out your snake eggs from FP, make some dough, & put the Vinegar & Spices into the mixing bowl. Make sure there is nothing more but those 2 items in the mixing bowl, & put it to the front of your inventory. Quickly find a person who sells Ulthork Meat, (Btw, eat alot of food B4 you do this so you dont accidntally eat the meat), buy the meat, and go into inventory, and hit combine. Grab the meat, put it all into your spit along with the dough & pie tin, hit combine, and put the pie at the absolute back of your inventory. Also make sure to eat alot of food so you dont scarf down the pie. Run all the way to Thurg, & give Brita her pie. Get to butcher and initiate the last part.
After instructions, grab your friends, & go griffin Hunting in EW. Now this may take awhile, so get like 5 stacks of bread and put all eggs you find at the absolute back of your inventory. Prepare for a long hunt. In 12-15 Griffs, about 4 eggs should drop. Quickly get out, run back to thurg, and go to Thurg exchange. Get some spices, and bake all 4 eggs & the spices in a spit. The souffle should be trivial, if not, please reply with your results. Quickly give the souffle to Thoridain right beside Boring and get Thoridain's Seal. Give Boring the Seal and your Shawl and this quest should be done in less than 17 hours (Not including time to raise skills). GL on your shawls everyone, and Btw, here's a link to EQTraders: http://www.eqtraders.com/
    Kodiac Meat????

I have been quad kiting the cave kodiaks in GD for some time now and have recieved 0 meats from them . Is this where you get the meat for the first meal or do i have to kill kodiak bears? I'm pretty sure it is the cave kodiaks but just thought i would ask for clarification just to make sure.. Thanks for you help

How to obtain the shawl in less than 24 hours
    # Oct 22 2002 at 4:18 PM Rating: Good
At level 39 on my enchanter i got my pottery and baking to 135 before starting. Get into a frost giant group in GD if you are worried about faction(if you cant get in one just hit the giants while a group kills them). I would also suggest going to lavastorm and kill basilisks for their eggs as combining them to make dough gives you 15 if you dont already have dough. The first part was easy, just go to bazaar and buy tundra kodiak meat for around 75pp then make the sandwhich. For the Snowbunny Stew go to EW and shout or auction for it, most likely someone will send you a tell(you also need a pot for this which is why i got my pottery to 135). Again, go to EW and get in an ulthork group or shout/auction for meat, make the pie tin and then the clump of dough with the basilisk eggs I mentioned earlier. This is the last and hardest part, the Snow Griffon Souffle. Go back to EW and if you cant solo or track the griffons i suggest getting a partner(i got a 51 bard to help me) after constant tracking/killing we got 4 eggs to drop in approx. 3 hours. Combine the ingrediants to make the souffle and quickly turn it in before you have a chance to eat it.(in case your wondering i had kindly/warmly faction for doing quest 1 2 and 3) DONT FORGET TO TURN IN THE NAPKINS ALSO! =)

I was helpin a friend to do 3rd quest, and since i bake, still low but she has done noo baking, i made the saucybearmeat. I saw that it was no drop, so i came here to check on the sandwhich itself, unfortuantely its no drop too. Anyway, i the description above it says to combine meat and sauce in oven, i use a spit due to my being a lizard and having limited acess to cities and it didn't work, so i tried in the mixingbowl and it worked there. As far as i know a spit can be used anytime in place of an oven.

You can get a master chef to MQ the baked products with the person wanting to get the shawl or seal - they hand the product in, you hand in the napkin, you get back the proof (used napkin, empty pot, etc) for the next step. I made some decent cash this way at lvl 30ish when Velious was launched and lots of high level people had zero trade skills while I had baking skill 150ish. :)
    Mixing Bowl
    # Oct 05 2002 at 5:54 PM Rating: Decent
Smiley: confusedI'm a little confused about the mixing bowl. Do I need one of those mixing bowls that have slots and a combine button inside to make something that get's put in the oven? Or do I just need a crafted mixing bowl that will itself get put into the oven with the other ingredients? Perhaps someone who's done the quest can clarify this for me. Thanks.

You need the store-bought or player-made mixing bowl which you can combine items in. The recipe for it is: 2 large blocks of clay (unstacked), large bowl sketch, water flask and fire with a firing sheet. EQ Traders lists it at a trivial of 128.
