Captain Hazran (Warrior Guildmaster) is found inside the Militia House in East Freeport. He is on Find (Ctrl+F).

Captain Hazran says 'Hail, citizen! Welcome to the Freeport Militia House. It is time for you to serve the state. You will assist us in our war with [Clan Deathfist] before you are truly accepted into our city. We urge you to be all we command you to be.'

You say "Who is Clan Deathfist?"

Captain Hazran says 'Clan Deathfist are the orcs of the Commonlands. They are a nuisance and Sir Lucan has ordered their extermination. You will go forth into the Commonlands and kill these orcs. Clan Deathfis'st members are known to wear a clan belt. Bring a belt to me as proof of each death and you shall receive your wages and prove your allegiance to Freeport and all that is good.'

Head to Commonlands and kill orcs to loot a Deathfist Slashed Belt;

Go back to Captain Hazran and give him the belt for some experience and the following faction adjustments:

Captain Hazran says 'Good work, warrior. You are good militia material. Beware though, there are some who dare to call us foe. You have performed so well!'
Your faction standing with The Freeport Militia has been adjusted by 5.
Your faction standing with Coalition of Tradefolk Underground has been adjusted by 1.
Your faction standing with Knights of Truth has been adjusted by -1.
Your faction standing with Priests of Marr has been adjusted by -1.
You gain experience!!
You receive 3 gold from Captain Hazran.

Just as a point of reference. I turned in 70 belts on a level 1 human rogue on Aradune and ended up 20% in to level 6. Not bad for something that really is more for faction that xp.

Can be done at threatening faction provided you can run up and turn in before he aggros. Also, the good version of the belt quest gives +knights of truth/-militia at +1/-1 whereas this is -1/+5, so you can use then to raise both factions.

This was Aradune server, classic era. May change on other servers/eras.

I believe he is upstairs to the left as you enter in a corner room on 2nd floor.

As far as the relocation to the new East Freeport. Agreed the old description could use some revamp.

Exp on each?
# Oct 29 2002 at 10:40 AM Rating: Decent
Okay, I am a human palidan. My faction with my side is great (NFP) and I would like to keep myself at least amiable.

BUT,

I am currently Dubious to the guards in WFP (no shock there). I would like to know if it is a good idea/woth it to turn at least some of these belts in to the corrupt guards, thus balancing my faction a tad (if only to prevent myself from KOSing on the ENTRANCE to town, lol).

What do you guys think?

Forget orc belts for militia faction.

Do the note for janam, note for rebby quests. My Human Cleric of Mithaniel Marr is Amiable to militia, and took no negative faction hits to get there. Also, bonus is that you get +faction with the merchants in freeport, the merchants ill in freeport, and one other group.

I am ally to the merchants, so get very good prices, without the need of lots of charisma gear.
RE: Exp on each?
# Oct 29 2002 at 10:42 AM Rating: Decent
Oh, one other thing.

Is there a difference in the amount of exp gained with each? I know that the corrupt quest requires only one belt to do the quest, whereas the good version requires two. Do you get double the exp for each tim eyou do the good version?

Thanks!

I am a Dark Elf Cleric... I can't invis myself to get to the people and frankly I have no Idea where to go... I've read everything but to me this game can be so confusing. I really don't want to be killed and I have like, 5 or 6 back packs full of these things... Please someone help me out... Thank you

DE clerics are not KOS in WFP...just go through WFP gates and you'll see the milita building...go upstairs...then find the balcony and give the guy 4 blets at a time...if you have that many it should take you up to indiff with wfp, hope this helps

You only need to turn in one belt at a time.

obviously, but it would be faster to turn in 4 at a time, right? No offense, I just don't think you were using your melon when you posted that message. Don't worry, happens to me too.

Getting Faction with Militia
# Jun 29 2002 at 11:10 AM Rating: Default
Ok,
You are an iksar, ogre, troll (or any other class) who is KoS in FP?
KILL THE WARRIORS !

Yeah, get Invis, and a group , if you are a warrior, get a cleric friend, if you are a necro, you can do it alone, and if you are a shaman you can do it alone too.
Go to the Arena invised, you´ll se a guy called Jakom or Jaxom or something like that wandering, if you are a necro, Root + Dot, if you are a warrior just melee him and let the cleric heal ye.

Not only you´ll get exp, but you´ll get a lot of faction with the FP Militia, and if you get in trouble drop to the arena and let yourself killed! NO EXP LOSS !.

I went from KoS to Apprehen in two days. Woot !

I am an ogre...i had a druid cast wolf from on me and was indifferent to FP guards--but when I went to turn in the belts, I could not give the belts to the captain...SO, can you now not turn in items if you have wolf form on?
-preplexed on how to turn in the belts if i get killed as my lovely ogre self, and unbale to turn in belts as a wolf-

If you mean the Knights of Truth you just need to kill 3000 or so orcs.
Other ideas can be found at:

RE: Faction
# Jul 12 2002 at 9:16 AM Rating: Decent
You have to kill a lot, but not quite that many, unless you've bottomed out that faction somehow. I killed 1100 of them (give or take 20, the killing sorta became a blur near the end :) ) as an iksar monk, and that took me from threatening to amiable. That also got my faction with Ashen Order high enough amiable to do the sash quests.

The best place to do this when I did it was in east commons, run back and forth between the two orc camps on the north wall. At level 49, I could kill everything in one camp, run to the other, kill everything in that camp, then run back and the first camp would be respawning in about 30 seconds. Nowadays, it's much faster in the camp just northeast of the bridge in nektulos forest. There you have a single camp with 10 static spawns and the occasional roamer.
Wolf Form
# May 24 2002 at 11:02 AM Rating: Decent
My understanding is that wolf form modifies your faction, so if you are deeply KOS, will still be KOS. If you get a THREATENINGLY message, wolf form should bring you up to dubious or better
Was a bug fix
# May 15 2002 at 7:36 AM Rating: Default
Before, if you were invis and tried to hand an item to an NPC, your invis would drop, so this wasn't a way to give things to NPCs. VI said that there was a bug with some NPCs when players tried to hand them items while invis'ed. So now you have to remove invis before interacting with NPCs.
Evil races screwed?
# May 10 2002 at 12:08 AM Rating: Decent
I saw this in the last patch they did:

" A character can no longer trade with an NPC when invisible. Character must turn visible before starting the trade."

I am thinking this is going to ***** with the evil races now who want to do the orc DFBs quest in WFP with Captain Hazran and Cain Darkmoor. What do you think?

Still can't buy/sell...
# May 01 2002 at 3:14 PM Rating: Default
I have turned in TONS of DF Belts, and I can travel throughout FP unharmed. I was actually never KOS, being a DE. I really want to be able to buy and sell in FP, as it is so close to my common area. I have turned in sooo many belt, I would have thought I could buy/sell, but I guess not. At this point it seems like a "mission impossible." Anybody know how many belts it takes, or if it just won't happen for me?

DF Blet Turn in if KOS

I WAS able to turn in DF Belts to the Captain even while KOS, being a Ranger .. (you need invis AND sneak, SOW is recommended). Here's how:

1) Invis up.
2) Run to Captain.
3) Get behind, turn on sneak.
4) Verify sneak is good by walking back and forth (you will move slower when sneak is "working").
5) Turn in belts, and pray invis holds the whole time.
6) Run like hell back to EC (see below).

Now after I turned in all my belts, I turned around walked a bit then turned off sneak. At this Point I heard the "I will kill you scum" message from the captain, so I bolted (SOW was nice). I ran all the way back through the barracks aggroing guards along the way (nice train BTW) yet before I got to the zone to EC, I noticed my invis was still up! (I hadn't been hit by anyone yet, just aggroed them as I passed).

So my question is, how did I aggro all those guards (and the captain for that matter) if my invis was still up?

Invis
# Apr 18 2002 at 4:24 PM Rating: Default
You lose invis when you give anything to a NPC. You will notice a msg saying you appear. For some reson though the icon stay on until you attack or get hitted by anything as if you havent appeared yet. Hope this helps :)
