Cain Darkmoore (Warrior Guildmaster) may be found in post-revamp East Freeport, below the arena at +665, -675. He's on Find (Ctrl+F).

You say, 'Hail, Cain Darkmoore'

Cain Darkmoore says 'Hail, ______! We are the Steel Warriors of Freeport. Our training disciplines have created some of the finest warriors ever to walk upon Norrath. Perhaps the bards shall sing songs of you one day. Let your first mission be the extermination of [Clan Deathfist].'

You say, 'What is Clan Deathfist?'

Cain Darkmoore says 'The orcs of the Commonlands call themselves Clan Deathfist. They have committed many vile acts upon the residents of the Commonlands as well as persons traveling to and from Freeport. They must be destroyed. Go forth to slay them. I shall pay a bounty for every two Deathfist belts. If you are a true warrior of the bunker, perhaps you can begin with [the green and blue].'

You say, 'What is the green and blue?'

Cain Darkmoore says 'The green and blue was a test for all skilled warriors. But we have no more bunker battle blades to spare, and I can not offer you the green and the blue. We must prepare for war!!'

Cain Darkmoore says 'I must have two Deathfist belts.'

Hand him two Deathfist Slashed Belt. They are a common drop off orcs in the Commonlands.

Cain Darkmoore says 'Very fine work, ______. With your help, we shall soon rid the commonlands of the orcs. Then we can move on to a [bigger problem].'

The quest gave between 5 and 8 gold per two belts, better than the Evil version which was a flat 3 every time for 1. It also gave the same XP which was about 1.1% per belt at level 13. Not too shabby if you farmed Orcs from 9 to 13 and turned 80 of them in all at once. I split my turn ins between good and bad so neither would attack on sight just in case. bottom of level 13 to near 14 and 28pp day one for a couple hour's work leveling anyway.
Sell the Shoulders and Lego bracers, those quests don't work on these servers, or require you to hit Butcherblock first before looting.

Well I found Cain. He is now in EAST Freeport below the new arena. His location is +663 -676.

Here is all of the dialogue for the quest:

You say, 'Hail, Cain Darkmoore'

Cain Darkmoore says 'Hail, Zatx! We are the Steel Warriors of Freeport. Our training disciplines have created some of the finest warriors ever to walk upon Norrath. Perhaps the bards shall sing songs of you one day. Let your first mission be the extermination of [Clan Deathfist].'

You say, 'what Clan Deathfist?'

Hand him 2 Deathfist Slashed Belts

Cain Darkmoore says 'Very fine work, Zatx. With your help, we shall soon rid the commonlands of the orcs. Then we can move on to a [bigger problem].'

Your faction standing with Steel Warriors got better.
Your faction standing with Guards of Qeynos got better.
Your faction standing with Corrupt Qeynos Guards got worse.
Your faction standing with The Freeport Militia got worse.
Your faction standing with Knights of Truth got better.
You gain experience!!
You receive 6 gold from Cain Darkmoore.

Since the revamp of the Freeport zones it seems that Cain is missing. The Warrior Guildmaster is now a female and will not take the belts.

I've tried using my Ranger track, but can't seem to locate Cain anywhere.

I guess this very old school quest has been killed.

I'll keep looking in the other Freeports hoping to stumble across him.

This may sound odd... but I watched my friend do it- he turned in 4 belts at lvl44 and got 1% exp- which means that at higher levels if you collect enough belts or buy enough belts you can have nearly risk free leveling- 400+ belts per level- and if you're a caster like he was- if you get so KOS you can't get out of the city you can just gate out.

WTB DFbelts 1pp per! :D

I found this interesting - I approached the guards with camo on and conned gaurd, they conned indifferent, but when I dropped camo the scowled at me, I dont think they saw through invis, but the difference in faction while camo is worth noting.

I totally destroyed my faction by helping a guildie kill Sir Luclan for the Soulfire and went to my faction can't get any worse. On top of that the druid who starts my Druid Epic won't speak to me, even insults me, so I need muffins quest aplenty. This is a huge pain but I did get to the hungry little dwarf camo'd and he doesn't care if we killed Luclan. Was much harder trying to buy the muffins outside there in EC because some gaurd kept coming after me. Just ran him around and rooted him so I could score muffins and leave, but what a friggin pain!

BTW the quote you are using is supposed to be "I am become death, the destroyer of worlds." It is from the Bhagavad Gita, it is also the saying that was written on Fat Boy, the nuclear bomb developed by Openheimmer which leveled Japan, and was written on Animal Mother's helmet in Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket". This is not meant to insult you its just misquotes are a major pet peeve of mine Smiley: smile

Actually it's "I am become death, the destroyer of worlds" I don't mean to insult you, it's just people that tell others they're misquoting someone and correcting them with a misquote themselves....really is a pet peeve of mine

OMFG, I got forgot to finish typing the "e" in the. Sorry. I was refering to the misquoting of the "am" in the first part of the saying. By saying I am become death, means that the individual has transcended beyond morality and his own mind/body/soul thus becoming a totally new individual, and thus his killing of everything is not considered wrong, merely the work that he must do at his new job. By saying I have become death, means that the individual has changed, and not transcended into death, and thus the implication of morality still exsists, hence what he now does is considered morally wrong. I will edit my "th" in the above phrase to make everyone all happy happy joy joy again.

Actually, in lower levels this quest is GREAT experience. Hand in 2 belts at a time, an you will get decent experience well up to level 12 or so - and you will still get experience after that, just not near as much. And if you're at the level to be hunting orcs in the commons, then turning in the belts is a great bonus and will give you some extra experience for your efforts. So if you're getting experience from killing the orcs, you will get good experience turning the belts in as well.

On the third floor of the castle, Toresian Fhabel is waiting for someone to take an inert potion down to Vials of Vitality, on the first floor of the castle, and give it to Slansin. There are two people who you can give the potion to. Some times the correct person (with a single name, not a surname) 'spawns' in the shop and if you hand the bottle to him, you gain with several Erudin Factions. Usually (it may now be always) if you run this quest then "A Gate Bandit", [now also named Slansin?] will spawn in place of the person you are supposed to give the bottle to. If you hand the bottle to the bandit, the following factions go up: Coalition of Trade Folk Ill, Coalition of Tradefolk, Carson McCabe, Corrupt Qeynos Guards and The Freeport Militia. The best part of these faction changes is that it raises lots of hard to raise factions without lowering any others. You can do this over and over again to improve all these factions at once. This bandit is about L10 or 11, and it is possible that killing him starts a new quest by talking to one of the NPC's in the shop. Also, the bandit tells you that a friend will avenge his death [of course that is standard language], and if you take the boat to Qeynos after doing the quest, a guard will sometimes attack you when you get off. I don't know what happens if you defeat the guard.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this, but the way I keep my factions straight is to turn some belts in to Captain Hazlan at the militia house, and some to Cain Darkmoor. I just turn in twice the number of belts to the warrior guild as I turned in to the militia (since you hand them 2 at a time) and everyone is happy.

I started off dubious with the warrior guild and indifferent to militia, and now I'm apprehensive to warriors and amiable to militia, and this is after turning in 6 or 7 bags of belts.
Dark Faction
# Sep 10 2001 at 6:57 AM Rating: Decent
Another way to offset this quest's negative faction is to do the quests for Janam, Rebby and the Falia Frikniller. I did all three about ten times, since they all start within 50 feet of one another, and moved my faction with merchants to aimiable, and moved from dubious to indifferent with the militia. They easiest way to find all three is to go to the docks in West Freeport. The one further back has two tiers, with a barbarian fishing on the lower one. Behind him is a door, that takes you into a wharehouse. Below the wooden platform, there is a secret wall, that takes you down to the Freeport underground. All three of the quest originators, the DE Nestral (sp?, who is behind a door,) Harkin and Gren Frickniller, are within 50 feet or so of one another. I found doing all three quests had a quick effect on my faction, without damaging any of the good ones.

My monk is 14 and I'm gonna need to be able to train to get double attack at 15. Is there a way to sneak up to a trainer and throw a point in before you're beaten to a pulp? Also, about this quest, how do I get close enough to the guards (short of having a group member do it) to turn them in when I'm "threateningly?" Please let me know by posting something or find me online.

Ok, here are a fews ways to raised faction.

1) Killing WC Guards will: raise North Freeport faction (So ya can bank), howver, it will lower WFP and East Freeport (making you KOS there fast)
2) Killing NFP Guards will: raise WFP and WFP faction, while making you KOS to NFP, fast too.
3) Turning in DF Belts to Captain Hazran will: raise WFP and EFP faction, while lowering NFP faction.
4) Turning in DF Belts to the warrior guild guy (found in the building near Arena, name is something like Cain Darkmore) will: Raise NFP faction and I belive WFP and EFP (dont quote me, been a while since I played).

Those are some of the easier to do steps, I would suggest, because I have done this with my Druid, killing the hell out of the NFP Guards. Once WFP and EFP and NFP factions are maxxed out, start killing WFP and EFP and EC and WC Guards. This will lower EFP and WFP while raising NFP. Sooner or later you the factions will reach a middle. =) (because both have same amount of faction, example... NFP has, lets say, neg100 and WFP and EFP have pos100. Every faction hit you take, you lose one faction point from WFP and EFP while NFP gaines one, hence they will meet at 50 sooner or later)
Well, anyway, enough gossip, good luck, young Monk.

DE Cleric wants to Bank and Sell
# Jun 18 2001 at 4:06 PM Rating: Default
I've read through the posts on both the evil and good versions of this quest, and it has to be the most confusing topic ever posted.

Simply:
1) I wish to be able to bank in Freeport (North) with my DE Cleric.
2) I would like to get there through WFP without having to take tunnels to NFP (thus need to not be KoS to guards at gate)
3) I would even like to have an occasional merchant sell to/buy from me
4) In doing all this, I don't want to ***** up my faction in my hometown of Neriak

Sounds like killing Orcs in EC raising faction w/Paladins in NFP. Ok, I get that. I need good faction with them for the NFP part of this i.e. banking. Right?

What I don't understand is why would I want to raise faction w/Freeport militia? Why wouldn't I want to raise "good" faction wigh Guards of Qenos instead? Should I turn in belts to Militia, or Warrior guild to accomplish my goals?

thanks,
Mofis, 7th season Cleric

RE: DE Cleric wants to Bank and Sell

Ok, here's how I did it. It's slow and tedious, but it works. I warn you, this will only fix your Freeport factions, and it will eventually destroy your Mistmoore and Ring of Scale factions so if you want to keep those, don't mind me, and read no further. If you care not, here's the way... Get a few bags of DF belts, and turn them in to Hazran in the militia house. This will make you rapidly indifferent to the EFP and WFP guards. It will also make you KoS to the NFP guards. Now the NFP guards are the Knights of Truth... so you grab about 200pp, stop at your nearest friendly bank, and turn it into gold pieces. Then you go to EFP, to the Grub and Grog tavern, which is right next to the building with the soulbinder, and hand Fabian all that gold... 2 pieces at a time. Yeah, it told you it was tedious... however Fabian will happily give you Knights of Truth faction as well as the League of Antonican Bards. You'll lose Mistmoore and Ring of Scale... but I never cared for either of those. As far as the merchants, do the Janam and Rebby quest 10-15 times, and they'll love you too. only 2 factions I have left to fix are the casters guild and the monks. Think I'll give up on them since I don't need them and can avoid their areas easily.

I would guess because you can transfer the faction from the corrupt guards to the good guards. e.g. You can do a quest that raises your faction with the corrupt guards only, and you can then transfer that faction to the knights of Truth by handing in the DF belts to the good guards without becoming KOS to evil guards.

The other reason you'd want to increase your faction standing with the Militia is because it's them who guard the Freeport/East Commonlands gate, so if you want to be able to go through there without using the underground you need to keep them somewhere around dubious or higher.

I raised my standing with both factions enough that I can now walk through Freeport through the day without getting killed. At least from the guards anyway! :)

I've been hunting camps one and two for some time know and the only orcs I've seen drop belts are centurions. Try turning in the belts two at a time. You will get more exp doing that then turning in a hole bunch. Give him two, hit trade, get your faction/exp, repeat!
