This quest begins with Jemoz Lerkarson, a cleric guildmaster in the basement of the Temple of Marr (northwest part of West Freeport: location 1610, -1700, -195).

Oddly enough, Jemoz is on Knights of Truth faction rather than Priests of Marr.

You say, 'Hail, Jemoz Lerkarson'

Jemoz Lerkarson says 'Bless you, my friend! We always welcome new converts into our Hall of Truth. The righteous army of the twin deities must assemble. The battle draws near. The blessings of the Truthbringer are passed to all who are [devoted to truth].'

You say, 'I am devoted to truth'

(He casts a buff on you.)

Jemoz Lerkarson says 'May the hand of Marr shield you from harm. Welcome to our world. The war begins here in Freeport. The [fallen knight] has masked the truth from the world, but he cannot mask his evil from the Truthbringer. He once followed our ways. Now he is our enemy and yours. We must end his rule. We must [crush the Freeport Militia]!!'

You say, 'What fallen knight?'

Jemoz Lerkarson says 'The fallen knight is Sir Lucan D'Lere. The organizer and leader of the Freeport Militia. He once stood beside us. Now he shall burn!! We will end him. We shall [crush the Freeport Militia]. Truth shall reign once again.'

You say, 'I will crush the Freeport Militia!'

Jemoz Lerkarson says 'Our goal is to end their rule. To retake our city in the name of Marr. Let it begin with their blood!! Slay the militia!! They have no souls and hail from the back alleys and prison cells of darkness and depravity. Thieves and murderers, nothing more. Slay any you can and, as proof, return their militia helms to me. We shall see what bounty you deserve.'

Bring back a Damaged Militia Helm (NO TRADE) from any of the Freeport guards.

Jemoz Lerkarson says 'Bless you, my child. Marr is grateful, as are we. Here is our thanks. Let it bring you greater strength to defeat the Militia. Go and continue the crusade. Soon you will be strong enough to slay the [true organizer].'

Your faction standing with Knights of Truth has been adjusted by 10.
Your faction standing with Dismal Rage has been adjusted by -1.
Your faction standing with The Freeport Militia has been adjusted by -1.
Your faction standing with Priests of Marr has been adjusted by 2.
Your faction standing with Steel Warriors has been adjusted by 1.
You gain experience!!

Jemoz Lerkarson begins to cast a spell.
You feel a little better. You have been healed for 20 points.

This is the lead-in to Jemoz's assassination plot against Captain Hazran.

Quite a bummer. I was hoping I wouldn't have to with Dismal Rage again.

Updated, thanks.

The faction is terrible for the Hazran deal, but my iksar beastlord was able to go from dubious to amiable in 5 or 6 militia helms. Not too bad, even though it took me about 40 guards to go from scowl to dubious. Just a little help for those dwarf pallies out there doin the epic.
take the easy way
# Jul 10 2003 at 5:35 AM Rating: Default
Take the easy path, we cleaned out the guard house. Pulled out brother jentry, killed him first, went back for lucan, then sent the faithfull lil iksar monk back to pull hazran, only way to safely keep the clerics alive was to use 61 mage pets, and let the clerics heal them, keeping the agro off the clerics, one cleric made the mistake of healing the lil monk before he got FD off, and died very badly for his mistake.

well i did that quest ...
Hazran is lvl 61 , solid undercon hehe
unslowable triples for like 300 350 each hit
and has undead agro, does mean as soon ya cast agro spells (compl heal, debuffs, buffs) he kills the caster ...

yay i finally got him with 3 grps of upper 58ies

i turned that head in and got NADA ...
but ya get KOS from ally in wfp
but not even indiff from kos in nfp

so its not even a good faction quest

just do not do it ... waste of time

Anyone killed the Captain?
# Oct 22 2001 at 1:31 PM Rating: Decent
Has anyone ever been able to kill Captain Hazran? I'm curious about that quest as to how to kill the Captain, how much faction rise you get doing this quest, and the random spell, and if the Captain drops anything besides his head? Any details would be apperciated.

Group killed Hazzran a couple days ago on Drinal. Unslowbale, triples for 300-400, resists almost all nukes, 25Kish HP. As for drops, all he had was his head and a bunch of belts other people accidently gave him instead of DF belts. Reward was a little faction, some coin and a copy of Abundant Food. Buwahaha...

Signed,
The Cleric who rezzed those poor fools...

I got a faction hit
# Aug 26 2001 at 1:03 AM Rating: Default
I was grouped with a person who turned in some belts, and got a faction hit. Being a cleric, this is NOT a good thing. The trainer would talk to me but told me to "Be gone!". Later I went to the EC tunnel and healed an SK while fighting Sgt. Slate. Got a faction hit to reverse the previous one and will check to see if it worked.

Quick n'free Holy Armor buff - without bugging players!

Whether or not you want to do the quest, go hail Jemoz (he's downstairs in the Temple of Mithaniel Marr - Guilds for the Clerics and Paladins - #3 on eqatlas.com map of N Freeport - and is always standing at the end of the reflective water on the basement level) and respond to his [request]. Even if you only ask him the first response, he'll cast Holy Armor on you - a nice buff at any level, but especially for newbies if you're running around smacking stuff outside the city gates. I have been able to get the buff at "indifferent," and using different characters/classes, so presumably so long as you are not KOS on the way in, you should be able to get this buff.

I know that the guards in Freeport are strong but when some of you say the guards were weaker do you mean as weak as the Qeynos guards?

LVL 10...

I think this is a old referance to when ppl used to kill the guards in Freeport all the time. That was before they made the front guards so powerfull. It lessened the fun of killing the interior guards. At that time a newbie char could loot the helmets from the other people killing the guards because most of them didn't care. Now adays though this would be impossible for a char to do at level 10 because people rarely if ever hunt the guards.

Just my 2cp =)

Lv 10? not so.
# Jan 16 2001 at 10:22 PM Rating: Decent
There is no way a lv 10 character can do this quest unless he has a group of lv 60 friends kill the guards. the captian is lv 60 so no a lv 10 cannot be the min lv to do this quest.
Minimum level?
# Jan 10 2001 at 7:21 PM Rating: Default
So the minimum level for this quest is 10... does this mean there are actually guards that lvl or lower that lvl 10 characters can kill, or just that lvl 10 characters can turn in the helms for xp if they loot them off a guard that someone else has killed?
