In the faun building that leads to the plain of growth there is a named Faun Shamus Aghllsews.

    You say, 'Hail, Shamus Aghllsews'

Shamus Aghllsews says 'Welcome to my fiefdom wayward Gnome. I am Duke Shamus Aghllsews of the Tunarean Court. Only those who pledge friendship or membership to the Court are allowed sanctuary in the Wakening Lands.'

    You say, 'I pledge friendship.'

Shamus Aghllsews says 'You must first prove your intentions to the Tunarean Court. I will permit you to participate in an oath of friendship only after you bring me four picks used by the Kromrif Laborers that are attempting to build into our lands.'

    Give him the 4 picks.

Your faction standing with Tunarean Court has been adjusted by 20.
    You gain experience!!

Shamus Aghllsews grips your hand in his own and recites an oath in an ancient tongue. 'Should you ever seek membership in this court you are required to receive the support of its counts, countesses, barons, and baronesses. Should they deem you worthy you may present their crests to me and with my approval become a citizen of our kingdom. The Kromrif and Kromzek are persistent in their efforts to expand Kael into the forest of Tunare, they are a threat to all houses of the Tunarean Court. A Kromzek architect occasionally visits the building sites. I desire to acquire his blueprints for the expansion of Kael.'

If you hand him the blueprints from the kromzek architect...

Shamus Aghllsews says 'You have my gratitude ______. With these blueprints we can better prepare the forests defenses against the giant invaders. I have yet another favor to ask of you as well. Fill this empty bag with crystallized sulfur. When mixed with the crushed herbs in the other bag it will create an explosion strong enough to destroy stone. Take the two full bags into Kael Drakkel and plant it into a crate of the kromzeks building supplies.'

Your faction standing with Tunarean Court has been adjusted by 30.
    You gain experience!!

Was playing around in WL when I hailed this guy in the Faun Tower, he wanted 4 picks. I succored to WL/Kael zone, pulled 4 Laborers in a quad, all 4 dropped the pick, thats pretty common =)

Kromif Labors DO drop the picks. It's just not a common drop.

Exactly what mobs drop these 4 picks needed to kickoff this part of the quest? The only mobs I see listed in the Bestiary for this zone is a Frost Giant Laborer, but there is no mention in the bio that they drop the picks.

Thinking bout starting this, could anyone tell is a laborer carrying a pick will be distinguisable beforehand? Will he hold the pick in his hand?

    no they are not
    Weight
    # May 27 2001 at 5:59 PM Rating: Default
Any of those thinking of doing this will need a strength buff of some description, the picks weight 16 each, so 4 of them comes to 64 weight, a sizeable chunk of my 96 encumberance limit (Lvl 43 Druid) The picks drops on average about 1 in 3 labourers
    RE: Weight
    # Aug 08 2002 at 10:21 AM Rating: Default
Weight is not a problem. Just have a friendly shaman summon you a spirit pouch (or several). They are only 4 slot containers, but are also 100% weight reduction and will hold giant sized items.

Word of warning though: Spirit pouches are no-rent, so you need to empty them out before camping out.

Mages have summoned 100% weight reducers too that come in 4,6, and 10 slot varieties at levels 8, 34, and 51 respectively.

    Still Good after wis=200
    # May 05 2001 at 10:33 PM Rating: Default
If your up for doing the quest the ring is really nice even if you have the 200 wis already. Besides the fact that it has an extra 3 wis (that extra 3wis means we can get rid of one of our lower wis items for a better direct mana, ac or stat item) on the velium +7wis ring that most druids would have at that lvl it also has that +10 cha stat which really comes in handy when trying charming. Plus any extra bit of AC never hurt anyone

See Crest of Woodnymph; requires Forage and gets a no drop item by it; ergo, this quest cannot be done by anyone but a forager (perhaps multi, but tooo much time to risk that).

Hmm ultimate reward is a ranger druid Tunare detiy ring so why whould anyone with no forage even try doin it ? or for that matter any ranger it might be usable by us but its really a druid toy

    # Apr 05 2001 at 8:45 AM Rating: Default
Most druids have their WIS maxed at 200 long before they're high enough to do this quest series. The ring would be good for rangers who solo in between groups since AC is largely irrelevant if you're fear kiting (I still find lots of blue animals at 52), and would allow druids to upgrade AC / HP / resists in other slots.

exquize me, but i am a 43 half elf druid, and my wis is only 162, so...... maybe you should do some research

    # Feb 11 2003 at 12:32 PM Rating: Decent
He did. By the time most druids are high enough to walk through NToV and into the planes, they will have over 200 wis. This quest cannot be physically done at 43, as you need to be at least 46 to get into the Plane of Mischief.

Oops, messed up entering info in the first part. If you tell the shamus at the beginning that you pledge membership, and then hand him the four picks he gives you an empty crest box, and tells you to collect the crests of the barons, baroness', and other members of the tunarean court. The box has 6 slots, and you must have a main inventory slot open for it to go into. I have found some of the crest quests so far:
    1. Lady Gellistial (?) is a unicorn in WL, and talks about needed to find a cure for Lithiniath, who is the first black unicorn, and was the product of malicious corruption by Britslebane. She wants you to speak to Prince Thirneg (in Regrowth) about finding 'a cure for the cursed bloodline of Lithiniath'. If you ask the prince either 'cure' or 'lithiniath' he will tell you that the cure is for lithiniath to die and be reborn in a lawful vessel. Was unable to get any further response from him.
    2. Felisia (?) of Tunare is a wood nymph in WL, and asks you to collect some seeds for her. She gives you a seed collection bag, and you have to forage several items. Other sites have detailed listing for this quest. Result is the Crest of the Wood Nymphs.
    3. The Shamus gives you his crest when you give him the 'bag of rubble' that appears after deploying a bomb in Kael.
These are the ones I know of so far. I believe there are also named npcs for the fae drakes (Lord Prismwing - maybe), sifanes, and farie dragons.

That makes six, Shamus, Felisa Florawisp, Lady Gellistial, then the fae drake lord, the sifane lady, and prolly a special farie dragon, Yup, that comes to 6. Nice work :)

The crates are located inside Kael not far from the wakening lands gate. With your back facing the gate, the crates are located ahead and to the right. They are next to a building's door, and look like small bags. Pick them up and destroy them. Then you click on the floor where they were with one of the bags from the shamus. Once you place both bags in the floor, and click ok the bomb explodes. You take about 1k damage from immolating flames. A 'bag of rubble' appears after the explosion. Return this to the shamus, and he will give you his crest. Best way to deploy the bomb is to have your back in the corner, and be invis while doing the deploy. Once the bomb goes off, grab the bag of rubble. Then you can try to reinvis and run out, or simply gate.

Also note, that the 'bag of rubble' will depop, so make sure to grab it quickly.
    Crystallized Sulfur
    # Jan 06 2001 at 3:34 PM Rating: Decent
I'm pretty sure this was dropping off the hornets in Burning Wood. I think all types drop it.
    RE: Crystallized Sulfur
    # Jan 18 2001 at 1:22 PM Rating: Decent
Crystallised Sulfur is a component for rogue poisons, and is dropped by a variety of level 35+ mobs.

Yea, crystallized sulfur drops in many areas. Hornets in bw drop them often and I find that they seem to drop semi-often off good ol' wyverns in cs, got 7 of em in 2 days of hunting there.

Now days this bag is the larger one (2 slot container) to the left of the two small ones which are the crates. When you combine the small sulfur and herb bags in it you get the Pile of Rubble (Looks like a Black Pearl)... not a bomb, no explosion, no clicking the floor anymore. [I had picked up the crates first, so I am not sure but they may no longer be necessary as I did not destroy them until after I got the crest. Certainly actually destroying them as per the quest isn't necessary - lol] I turned in this rubble from the simple combine to Shamus and he gave me his crest no problem (he didn't want the crates). (Just as an aside they are 25.4 stone and ND Temporary items.)

It is in the first open area you come to when heading in to Kael from WL. The area with the unfinished buildings. It is in one of the buildings I am told and the crate is ratehr hard to target (it may not be visible).

You will take 1K damage when the bomb goes off.
