In the faun building that leads to the Plane of Growth, there is a named faun called Shamus Aghllsews.

    You say, 'Hail, Shamus Aghllsews'

Shamus Aghllsews says 'Welcome to my fiefdom wayward Gnome. I am Duke Shamus Aghllsews of the Tunarean Court. Only those who pledge friendship or membership to the Court are allowed sanctuary in the Wakening Lands.'

    You say, 'I pledge friendship.'

Shamus Aghllsews says 'You must first prove your intentions to the Tunarean Court. I will permit you to participate in an oath of friendship only after you bring me four picks used by the Kromrif Laborers that are attempting to build into our lands.'

Give him the 4 picks. You gain experience and positive Tunarean Court faction.

Shamus Aghllsews grips your hand in his own and recites an oath in an ancient tongue. Should you ever seek membership in this court you are required to receive the support of its counts, countesses, barons, and baronesses. Should they deem you worthy you may present their crests to me and with my approval become a citizen of our kingdom. The Kromrif and Kromzek are persistent in their efforts to expand Kael into the forest of Tunare, they are a threat to all houses of the Tunarean Court. A Kromzek architect occasionally visits the building sites. I desire to acquire his blueprints for the expansion of Kael.'

(This is a separate quest, listed on its own.)

He gives you an Empty Crest Case, a size SMALL 6-slot container.

Go into the Wakening Lands and talk to the various subjects of Tunare that reside there. Each Crest requires a rather lengthy subquest to collect.

    The 6 crests are:

    - Crest of the Wood Nymph
    - Crest of the Unicorns
    - Crest of the Sifaye
    - Crest of the Fauns
    - Crest of the Drixie
    - Crest of the Faerie Dragons

Follow the links to the left for the subquests needed to obtain these.

After getting all 6 crests, combine them in the empty case. This creates a Case of Tunarean Crests. Hand this back to Shamus for your reward.

Shamus Aghllsews says 'Welcome to the Tunarean Court, Thane ______! Here is a signet ring to wear in honor of your status among the Tunareans.'
Your faction standing with Tunarean Court has been adjusted by 50.
    You gain experience!!

Cross posting this from crest of the unicorn page:

Midnight April 1, 2015. Received a system message that zone was repopping and all modern POM mobs despawned. Portions of POM 1.0 did then respawn including Lithiniath and a white stallion. After looking the quest up, I was able to kill Lithiniath and hand the horn to the white stallion, receiving the crest of the unicorn.

Other mobs also spawned, and many were dropping cards, but many of the other quest mobs were not on track. I was also able to get a Blam Stick to drop from the halflings in the entry hall.

I assume the zone will return to normal at midnight April 2.

The quest is confirmed broken by GMs. I've been at it for about 3.5 plus years now, the Crest of the Unicorn is not obtainable any more. The problem is Lithiniath and the white stallion. Neither pop. GMs have confirmed that these two mobs have not popped in the last 28 days and therefore they state:

"As for Lithiniath, after checking our logs, I see this mob has not been looted across any server for at least 28 days. This is a sign that the mob, most likely, was removed for some reason."

I will say that I did get to complete the quest line, only because I've had the other 5 crests for years now and the GMs involved were gracious enough and nice enough to give me the Crest of the Unicorn to complete it. Thanks Vorkera and Maaku!

It is a pity, the line and the story behind it are both wonderful and remind us what the game was originally about. Not AC, not HP, but for the quest, the real part of Everquest.

Thanks for confirming this. I had the quest mostly done for years, but didn't spend tons of time trying to complete the Unicorn part so I thought I just kept missing it. Time to delete all the components.

Yes, there's better gear out there now, if it's gear you play for. But some of us old-timers still do the quests and care about faction. Playing the story is what made the game so much fun, and still does. :o)

Coming up now on 2+ years trying to complete this quest, multiple bug reports and searches the world over. The Unicorn subquest is the wall, I've been hunting Lithiniath forever but he seems not to pop anymore, even though it is not "officially" retired.

Why anyone would bother to make such long quest for such bad ring? I mean, well, this ring have 15hp ... nowadays you get rings with 60hp in bazaar for like 300pp.
Maybe allakazam is wrong and this quest gives now an ubber ring with something like 150hp, 40wis, etc? Why else people keep doing the quest? Hard to understand for me.

    Let's see...

    1. This quest gives you excellent faction with forest-dwellers of all kinds as well as Tunare herself and her children.
    2. If a druid/ranger gets bored, this quest and all of its subquests have plenty to do.
    3. Maybe it's not about the item? Maybe it's about the lore behind it?

YAY!! Finally finished this quest after 3 1/2 months of tracking, searching, and hunting. It got to the point where it was not about the ring any more but the sense of accomplishment, of finally finding Lord Gossamarwind.

What a drag. I saw this quest here this morning, thought it looked pretty cool. Worked on it all day, had some good fun killing frost giants and foraging. The foreman and architect both conned even to me at lev 45, took em down solo, great battles. I've got one crest already, and well into 3 others.

*Now* I find out that the Crest of the Unicorn requires you to kill a level 63(!) mob in Plane of Mischief. WTF? It's going to be *months*, at minimum, until I'm running around with groups that can do that. And by then, I'm not going to need this ring. Thanks for nothing Verant.

    6th crest
    # Dec 10 2002 at 4:42 AM Rating: Decent
The 6th crest which used to be posted here was the CREST OF THE FAERIE DRAGONS and its text was as follows. I'm not sure if this change because I was never able to find the foreman myself, who is supposed to spawn in Wakening Land.

    You say, 'hail Lord Gossimerwind'

Lord Gossimerwind blinks at you a few times then speaks in a strangely musical draconic voice. 'You vish to azzizt ze count of ze Tunarean Faerie Dragons?'

You say, 'I wish to assist'

Lord Gossimerwind says 'I vish to ztop ze Kromzek Foreman from continuing ta deztroy thiz land. Iv you vish to azzizt you can zlay ze Foreman and bring me hiz helm az proof.

Slay the kromzek Foreman and loot his helmet and bring it back for the Crest of the Faery Dragons.

I found this guy this afternoon. He spawned in place of one of the laborers, I think his exact name was "a frost giant foreman". Dropped a "Kromzek Foreman Helm" which incidentally is NOT no drop. I can only assume it's the right guy since I haven't yet found Lord G to return it.

    Bandit ring better...ummm
    # Oct 18 2002 at 3:36 PM Rating: Default
The only way the bandit ring can be better than this is for two reasons:
You have a Band of the Arisen Cultist in the other slot
Or, your WIS is 255, UNBUFFED

As a lvl 60, you should know that every pt of wis above 200 at lvl 60 gives you 6 pts of mana...10 x 6 = 60. You get 5 more pts of mana with the Tunare ring. You lose 4 AC and 40 hps, but you gain resists...
Also, when PoP hits the stage, the new cap on WIS/INT goes up a huge amount...
By the time PoP comes out, you, Mr. 60 Druid, will be scrambling for this ring...

With this ring, I am able to achieve 271 WIS ATM, if the cap were removed at the current time. And that is unbuffed. This includes having my epic, Shield of Bane warding, Talisman of Benevolence, and my Xanthe's earring, and Solstice earring...
You'll want the extra wisdom, so unless a Band of the Arisen Cultist is in your finger slot...do this quest

    Mr. Iam_Anon_041
If you would look in the PoG quest listings you would have noticed that Clerics and Pallies have their own quest there, thou you need to worship Tunare to use the item.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 28 2002 at 4:36 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Another Tunare quest that's only doable by the tree huggers. From a role-players perspective this quest makes no sense. Paladins and clerics of Tunare cannot complete this quest- because of skill limitations. Couldn't they come up with an alternate way to complete the quest that doesn't involve forage?

i know the argument about this quest is old but i just read it and thought it was funny. this quest is actually really easy. the hardest part was the pom thing and that horse is a easy as well. pom can be a pain to get there but some guilds have parked mages at the portal to coth people in, just need a monk to make the run. i guess it could be hard for some people, but i'm glad to see that there are quests in the game that not everyone can solve. you're acting like high lvl guilds are prohibiting you from doing the quests. wrong, you're prohibiting yourself. you have a problem with the quest being too hard? then go lvl yourself and your friends or join a guild where you can do the things you want to do. i don't know about all the servers, but on mine it's really not hard to get into a guild that could do these things if you put the time and effort into lvling. i'm sickened to see druids running around in full tov gear and gloves of earthcrafting who have never been to tov and have never even touched vindicator. imo, these quests are way too easy. vindicator heads rot like week old fruit now and every druid who's stepped into kael is able to pick one up after someone else does the work. i was able to do this whole quest solo except the horse which i had two groups for which was overkill. i'm sure that wouldn't have happened if i was lvl 45 trying to do it. gotta be realistic about things. problem in eq is that most all the servers are overgrown and the people there are spoiled. it's like if characters under 45 don't have chained thurg or tov or at least kunark armor, that person is a gimp -- this seems to be the mentality...
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 08 2001 at 10:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ALL quest should be Completable by only 2 groups of 6 levels 50-60, any more than 12 people for a Quest is just plan ****** up Verant. Hooray for Verant i have 100people to do all them damn Quest!!! I AGREE WITH ALL QUEST DO-ABLE BY NO MORE THAN 2 GROUPS OF PEOPLES!!!!!!!!!!!
#Anonymous, Posted: May 11 2002 at 6:08 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Do you really think a god, a being of unimaginable power, is going to be killed by a dozen mortals? That's what you're suggesting.

The giants that are needed for this quest (foreman, surveyor, etc.) have Laborer PH's. Basically keep killing ones right out front of Kael and eventually they will pop. I believe that any Laborer can be a ph for any of the named giants for this quest.

Now the reward for what it takes to do this quest is horrible, but I think there may be a chance to get something a bit better than the ring.

1st thing is that when you get the crest of the unicorns, lithiniath tells you to give lady gelestial his regards and you get the crest. I'm wondering if handing in the crest of the unicorns to lady gelestial will result in anything.

Also, something else to try would be handing in your signet ring back to Shamus, or giving it to Prince Thernig or Tunare in PoG. Who knows, it's something to try at least if you wasted your time on this quest like me.
