This is the last group task from Jaled`Dar (each of the five tasks are required for Void progression). It follows the task "Defeat the Dragonbane Phalanx".

    You say, 'Hail, Jaled`Dar'

Jaled`Dar says 'Why do you bother me small one? I have enough [problems] to deal with here without your intrusions.'

    You say, 'Problems?'

Jaled`Dar says 'You have proven a surprising ally. I would not have expected you to be so willing nor so capable. My need for your assistance is not over. The threat has not been defeated, and the Iksar still hold formidable power. Is your assistance [still available] to us?'

You say, 'I am still available'

Jaled`Dar says 'Very well. The tasks we ask of you now will not be easy. If you have allies you will likely find them most useful.'

A task window pops up. Choose 'An Impenetrable Shield'.

You have been assigned the task 'An Impenetrable Shield'.

Emperor Ganak keeps his most valuable possessions in the deepest chambers of the hatchery vault. It is there that you must seek out his dragonbane shield, a protective artifact created by cruel sorceries designed to make him invulnerable to Jaled`Dar's arcane attacks during their battle to come. The shield will surely be protected by the Emperor's most dangerous servants.

Four main threats have been identified by our scouts, and you should deal with these threats first. Seek out and destroy Nalasztya Voxenak, Zoffler the Drakeslayer, Joralus the Relentless and Sheleszka Voxenak before you attempt to retrieve the shield, lest they catch you by surprise.

Enter the Royal Hatchery of Kaesora 0/1 (Field of Scale)

The instanced entrance is the same as the non-instanced zone.

Recover the Dragonbane Shield kept in the hatchery vault 0/1 (Hatchery Wing)

The shield is kept in the western-most room on the map. Nalasztya Voxenak, Zoffler the Drakeslayer, Sheleszka Voxenak, and Joralus the Relentless can all be found in separate rooms -- those leading to or nearby the shield room. None of the three Iksar are overly difficult -- no more than typical trash mobs aside from occasional flurry/rampage.

The golem, Joralus the Relentless, is a little more difficult - hits for a max ~6,500 and has a good amount of hps.

    Nalasztya Voxenak flurries and enrages.

Nalasztya Voxenak has been slain by _____!
Nalasztya Voxenak's corpse cries out in rage and collapses.
Your faction standing with Sebilisian Empire got worse.
Your faction standing with Tynoc, Herald of Scale got better.

Zoffler the Drakeslayer flurries and enrages.

Zoffler the Drakeslayer has been slain by _____!
Zoffler the Drakeslayer's corpse hisses painfully and collapses.
Your faction standing with Sebilisian Empire got worse.
Your faction standing with Tynoc, Herald of Scale got better.

    Sheleszka Voxenak flurries and enrages.

Sheleszka Voxenak's corpse cries out in rage and collapses.
Sheleszka Voxenak has been slain by _____!
Your faction standing with Sebilisian Empire got worse.
Your faction standing with Tynoc, Herald of Scale got better.

Joralus the Relentless AE rampages rarely and enrages.

Joralus the Relentless has been slain by _____!
Joralus the Relentless's corpse cracks and breaks apart.
Your faction standing with Sebilisian Empire got worse.
Your faction standing with Tynoc, Herald of Scale got better.

Once the four named mobs are down, walk up to the shield. At this point Shield Guardian Neiska spawns.

Shield Guardian Neiska shouts 'The protectors have fallen. I will take up the shield of my master and destroy you all!'

Shield Guardian Neiska says 'I have the power of the shield, fools. Your attacks will not harm me!'

He single-target rampages and enrages. Kill him and loot the shield.

Shield Guardian Neiska has been slain by _____!
Shield Guardian Neiska's corpse staggers and collapses, unmoving.
Your faction standing with Sebilisian Empire got worse.
Your faction standing with Tynoc, Herald of Scale got better.

Give the Dragonbane Shield to Jaled`Dar 0/1 (Field of Scale)

Having deprived Emperor Ganak of his dragonbane shield, he will no longer have a dangerous advantage over Jaled`Dar in the coming battles.

Your faction standing with Tynoc, Herald of Scale got better.

I must have been lucky, thought I was going to have to request the task again. I was unable to get the shield when I clicked on it, and I killed the 4 mobs when I went into the shield room first, I was pulling the mobs in the other circle, using AE spells and the named mobs just kept joining the fight. The guardian spawned and was killed quickly, but still not able to click on that float shield. Read all these posts and figured my early entry ruined it. Decided to loot and re-request and to my surprise the guardian had the shield on his corpse. The floating shield has nothing to do with the quest. I felt stupid, but very happy I did not have to redo it.
    Easy stuff

Did with a 85 bard, 81 mage, and 77 wizzy, with two tier3 healers and a t3 tank. Simply clear the hallway outside each of the named rooms then pull them into it. Then I just used eye of zom to pop the final named and he ran all by himself with no adds to me. Didnt get any adds at all during the whole mission and only took me 30 min or so. If you got a good puller with some decent dps this is cake.

As for the eye of zom trick just find a spot you want to tank the final named, run the eye to the shield room and run around the shield for a few secs and the named should spawn. He'll come with no adds all the way to ya.

Oh and DON'T go into the shield room until the 4 named are dead if you decide to do the final one there. Also the four named have a weird aggro thing... lets say your sitting in the hall way looking into the room at the named, after a while the named WILL aggro on you. Guess its some line of sight aggro lol

I was two boxing so I was being kinda careful but basically I cleared the hall wanderers who came to the rooms with the 4 named then killed the named one by one. Mostly I pulled 2 mobs at once (no other option for me), occasionally had to deal with three. After that pulled the shield room mobs from a cleared hall, they came 1-2 at a time max. I did not pull the ones in the outer cubbies of the shield room. Then went up to shield, boss spawned, pull him to hall and beat him down.

Fairly easy mission except for the adds, and doing it super slow it took me two hours. Thanks to others for all the tips.

Oh - final boss IS immune to fire, or near enough. At least he was for me. Cold worked on him though.

I tryed this task 2 boxing.
Killed the first named, went to shield room to clear and pull to. They must have changed something. Stay away from that room till ready. Pulled the no name golem and before I knew it had 3 names add. I hit exodus and poped up at the zone. They actualy followed me there and wipped out the mage. First time ever exodus did not wipe agro.
Killed the task and was able to immediatly get it again. The names again had a big agro range and hit the old succor this time. Again they followed me to zone and killed the mage. Guess they like druids.
I'll try this task another day.
By the way, if a name kills you and you(time frame does'nt mater) get a rez, they will come back for you. Nasty task

    Good luck.

Tri-boxing. So far I have been able to spawn the Numbing Construct 9 out of 10 times. All but one have dropped essences. 4 fractured, 2 distorted, 2 warped. Two rares (one ring/mask each).

Luck or what, idk... but I am happy.

I can 100% confirm that if you kill all the 'mini names' and then park your group in a clear room.

Next cast an 'Eye' spell and using that touch the shield. Then just run the eye around near the shield until Guardian tethers. Click off eye and sit back and relax until he gets there.

The post that mentioned that below is by far the best advice I have seen here yet.

Forgot to mention that he will come all on his lonesome whether he runs past 1000 mobs or not.

    Joralus the Relentless: 506k HP

    Shield Guardian Neiska: 430k HP
Immune to fire. Makes sense since the shield was designed to protect against dragons.

All named immune to runspeed changes and unstunable.

After killing the 4 named, my wife sent her eye in to check out the room, which was enough to spawn the final named. This guy ran all the way to us without agroing anything before engaging. That is the sum total of our experience with the eye here, but might be a good method for others to single pull. Try at your own risk!

Silla Herald in Bloody Kithicor gives the task "Bonus: An Impenetrable Shield" for some extra chronobine and faction when you do Jaled`Dar: An Impenetrable Shield. Don't know what the faction requirement is, but I got it at warmly. The single step is "Recover the dragonbane shield kept in the hatchery vault, 0/1 Hatchery Wing".

What most people end up doing is they go room by room and clearing and killing the rooms with the nameds in them before going on to the center room with the shield. We started doing that too, but learned this easy little trick when one named was left up. We were trying to find a safe spot to clear the golem named since we had a chanter doing paci pulling instead of a real puller. The easiest way we found there was to clear the room with the shield and pull to there.
When we killed the first mob in the room, there was an emote that said something to the effect of "The guardians of the shield have been alerted to your presence" and after a few seconds all four nameds go rushing into the room with the shield. The room should have maybe only one other mob in it, but from there you can just have your puller split the nameds and you can kill them one at a time there instead of having to essentially clear the whole zone.

This must have changed since you did it. Now if you go into the room where the shield is the named that are up relating to this task will find you anywhere in the zone and try to kill you. When i was scounting around with my monks chrono projection i sent it into the room with the shield. The 2 remaining mobs that were up found my group and proceeded to kill them. I was feign dead and the rest of the group wiped. I would wait until i got the message saying my enemies have forgotten about me and that would make no difference. They would attack me after a second or 2 once i had gotten back up. I tried zoning out and then coming back in and they rushed to entrence to kill me. It didn't matter if i was invis or had the illusion from the mask.

This task is alot easier than it appears, if done properly.
Follow Alla's strategy and take down the 4 names in order in which they are listed. The 4 named mobs are nothing special. When the 4 names are down, move to the big room at the far west of your map. This room is called the "shield room", because there is a big shield in the middle of it. Clear this room of all its mobs (I think it was like 6), being careful not to get too close to the shield. We pulled to the hallway right outside of the shield room. Once all the mobs in the shield room are down, and everyone has full mana approach the shield, and the Shield Guardian will spawn and start to emote. He will pick up the shield and engage you. The shield Guardian single target rampages, but he is nothing to be worried about. If you have made it this far, you will be fine. Once the shield guardian is down, loot the shield and turn it into Jaled'Dar, and congrats on void Progression!
