Example of a quest with multiple faction requirements.

You say, 'Hail, David'

David says, 'I, the keeper of the [Bracers of Ro], welcome you. Come and rest within our camp. You have nothing to fear while such righteous might is gathered.'

You say, 'Bracers of Ro'

If you have somewhere around 25 faction (mid indifferent) with Deepwater Knights, you get this response:

David says, 'When you can swim the waters of Rathe and return two goblin nets from the elusive goblin net masters, then you will be rewarded the bracer mold.'

and the turn in:

David says, 'Two Deepwater goblin nets are required.'

David says, 'You have done well. Take the mold for the bracer. Go forth to speak with Thomas of [Lord Searfire]. Then all components shall be known.'

Your faction standing with Deepwater Knights has been adjusted by 20.
Your faction standing with High Council of Erudin has been adjusted by 3.
Your faction standing with Heretics has been adjusted by -3.
You gain experience!

You say, 'Lord Searfire'

David says, 'Lord Searfire is a great forge master. He was called forth to the land of fire lakes. It is said that he now toils in the name of Solusek Ro within a hidden temple of that land. He and he alone knows how to obtain [ronium], a needed component for forging the sacred Armor of Ro.'

You say, 'what ronium'

David says, 'It is an alloy created from two rare metals. Only [Lord Searfire] knows the formula.'

Now head to the Temple of Solusek Ro and meet Lord Searfire there

You say, 'what bar of ronium?'

Lord Searfire says 'You seek ronium. It is a fine blend of metals. I alone hold the secret of its formula. I, and I alone, can offer it to those who serve this temple. Do you wish a [bar of the alloy]?'

You say, 'I wish a bar of the alloy.'

If you don't have Amiable faction with Temple of Solusek Ro:

Lord Searfire says, 'There is much service to Ro which you must perform. I cannot trust you until you have proven your worth to us. Seek service within this temple or join the crusade within the desert of Ro.'

If you have Amiable (or better) faction with Temple of Solusek Ro:

Lord Searfire says 'Take this Sol Cauldron. Within it shall be combined elements of this world. You will add to it, melatite, two bars of enchanted platinum, Mistmoore granite, the sands of Ro and soil of Underfoot. If you be a master blacksmith, the elements shall combine to make the enchanted metal I have named 'ronium.''

You now need to gather components:
- 1 Melatite from MB and MC clockworks in Solusek's Eye ;
- 2 Enchanted Platinum Bar from enchanters ;
- 1 Mistmoore Granite from gargoyles in Castle Mistmoore ;
- 1 Sand of Ro from sand giants in South Ro and North Ro ;
- 1 Soil of Underfoot from this quest.

Combine them in the Sol Cauldron to make a Bar of Ronium (no skill required).

Finally, combine the Bar of Ronium with the Mold of Ro to make your Bracer of Ro (no skill required).

Reward(s):

Only needed indifferent faction to turn in the items.

Deepwater Knights +20
High Council of Erudin +3
Heretics -3

The mold is LORE, so you can't do it twice until you make one bracer first.

Tell Him : "What about Ronium?"
He will give further instructions... if you are amiable at least to him.

You need at least amiable faction in the Temple of Solusek Ro to get the cauldron from Lord Searfire. You can either kill shadowed men to gain faction or you can give money to the Erudite (he is located by Orthallius, but I forget his name) in South Ro. 30 GOLD pieces will get you some faction. You can repeat this as many times as needed. Then /con him to check your faction (the erudite is on Temple faction). When he is amiable, you are ready to go.

I hope this helps!

You can also turn in 3 Cutthroat insegnia rings to Ortallius. It raises facion with the temple. You only need amiable and ask him about Ronium. It won't pop up in ( ) even if you hail him.

ok people i am a paldin on bertoxx and i firmly beleive that if u are gonna roleplay u need to do your quests my opinion but i do not beleive that this is just a hack and slash game i have made a shine load of friends because of my role play and even met my wife thru it so for all u pple out there who think this sucks guess what it does not suck for me and paladins are a roleplayers hardest choice along with the sk and bard

Im a level 37 Paladin and i have just embarked upon my Ro Armor quest, I have to say it is quite depressing to hear fellow Paladins speak of there quest negativly. Anybody who says that this quest is not worth it should spend more time ateempting to get it for sheer purpose rather than trying to discourahe other players from attempting to get these items. Normaly i wouldnt take the time to list a reply to these post's but i want to let all the fellow Paladins know that doing this quest makes you feel like a part of something Dont be discouraged and if you need help remember /who all paladin then send a high level a tell belive me they are happy to help :)
EXP!!!
# Aug 10 2001 at 1:51 PM Rating: Excellent
Everyone has been flaming the Ro Armor but people fail to realize is the EXP! At 35 I got a 2 blue bubs of exp per mold! Quick way to get out of 35 hell. Getting the ronium prolly gives just as much exp as the mold. Sure there is better armor out there but at 35 can't beat the exp for turning in an item from one or 2 kills!

DW Knights faction

Another way to raise faction is to turn in zombie skins to a lady on the 2nd floor. She gives you a newbie cleric spell for every skin you turn in.
Also, I believe that turning in kobold molars helps as well.
RE: DW Knights faction
# Jan 27 2002 at 12:12 PM Rating: Good
Deep Water faction can be gained by turning in kobold molars, killing any heretic or most NPCs in the Paineel zone. There also several easy quest given out in the guild hall that will raise your faction.

Hehe, But being a Erudite paladin and serving Prexus, I don't need to worry about it :)

Another way to boost your faction with the deepwater knights is to kill a necromancer named Hykallen (sp?) in lavastorm. She is in a goblin camp on top of a hill. At level 27 she (and the gobbies) are green to me. I believe that for every five kills you go up one faction standing with the deepwater Knights. She spawns approx every twenty to thirty minutes.

I have to agree with this part. BTW, it is indeed the pixie tricksters that are sought after by the Wood Elf community to be slain (with the exception of Rangers for The Raincaller). Anyway, because of role-play purposes I refuse to kill these noble fairies. Instead I get my mage to do the work to get the dusts. He still gets experience from them and eventually he will need the components they drop for his Robe of the Elements anyway.

However you have to consider this: The fair dusts you require for the Soil of Underfoot is a Dwarven quest. While most High Elf and a few Human/Half-Elf Paladins would have problems killing such beautiful creatures I can promise you most Dwarves will not have a problem with it (but again it all depends on how you play your character). The Dwarven Paladins guild is actually a miners guild ... defenders of the underground, and as such they give new meaning to what exactly a Paladin should be (a good thing to be sure).

Still, there are many quests for Paladins that involve getting components that just don't make sense from a RPing perspective (Shield of the Silent Watch comes to mind). It should be noted that I also disagree with the killing of the gnome clockworks in Sol A. I happen to like keeping my faction with the gnomes and killing these things for the Melatite is just wrong in my characters opinion (not to mention the faction lost is more work I'm going to have to do later to repair it). Unfortunately because I don't have an evil alt I either have no choice but to kill them or buy it from the occasional local vendor.

The fairies are bad though. They are trying to set Kelethin on fire which is why Wood Elf Rangers also have a quest involving killing fairies.

Plus they make a truly hilarious sound when you hit them :-D

Actually those are the pixie tricksters; not the fairies. However, so many Paladin quests use fairie dust that I must wonder if they are truly good. They just look and sound like good creatures though. Have read, and have no desire to try, that killing the fairies in sight of the Felwithe/Kelethin guards is a quick way to die.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 02 2001 at 12:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is directed to the guy chewing out everyone who looks at stats on armor. Ok, numbskull, the point of looking for items is because they're better than what you have, so it would make sense to me that you have to look at stats. Honor of wearing armor as a paladin? I can agree to some of that stuff, but as far as the whole "rp" thing goes, go ahead and do your roleplay thing, and let the rest of us enjoy our "hack em up" games. As for me, I think hackin monsters on here is much more fun than on diablo 2. Peace, brother~

Any real Paladin out there is not concerned with the ac, save or any other bonus of these Ro armor peices. Any eal Paladin wears them for the HONOR of having them. You people who reduce a wonderful roleplaying experience to numbers and statistics make me sick. Go back to playing Diablo II or some other hack em up game if numbers are so important to you and leave Norrath to the roleplayers.

MR is very important and dwarves cant wear hero bracers anyways so ill take the mr and get plenty of dis and pos saves from other ro pieces. And congratz for all pally's who undertake these holy quests.
1 or 2 bracers
# Apr 05 2001 at 1:19 PM Rating: Default
Question for those who have them, do you get 1 or 2 bracers from completing this quest. I have to improve faction w/ Deepwater Knights before even getting the quest. But in the meantime, I am thinking of collecting all the material necessary to complete the quest (except for the Soil of Underfoot which is LORE), so that when i've killed the last heretic I need to, I can fairly quickly get the bracer(s).

I guess my question really is -- do I need 2 or 4 nets?

RE: 1 or 2 bracers
# Apr 24 2001 at 12:00 AM Rating: Decent
Hail! Although I have not done this particular quest, I have done several other class bracer quests (warrior, shaman, and bard). They all gave one bracer per set of items turned in.

I applaud your decision to get these bracers. While it doesn't matter that much to wandering hunters poaching the kings' cougars, magic resistance is very important to the true heroes who dare meet evil on its own turf, and invade the dismal lairs where nasty little necros weave their wicked plans. I have two golden wolf's eye bracelets that I carry around just for dungeons, since a single successful charm or fear can ruin your whole day. You are very lucky to be able to get good AC on your alternate resist gear. :)

Doing the Netmaster the easy way
# Mar 22 2001 at 6:30 PM Rating: Default
If you've chased the netmaster all over the Lake Rathetear zone, then this might be for you.

Fact: The netmaster is a shadow knight of approximately level 31. The first thing he will do when he reaches you is to cast his Harm Touch.

Fact: The netmaster makes effective use of the spell Fear. If he succeeds in casting it, he will attempt to fear-kite you. Pump up your magic resistance before you start hunting him.

Fact: He has a pet.

It is this last fact that plays most in your favor. Simply put, his pet is undead and that nifty little spell Sense Undead suddenly becomes your best spell on this quest. The pet was very easy to beat for me (level 34 at the time). The odd part is that I detected as many as 3 pets in the zone simulaneously, 2 of which were in sight of each other. They seemed to frequent the gypsy camp on the south shore most often, although I did find one on the bottom of the lake once.

Tactic: Kill the pet. All of them if there are more than one. You will agro the netmaster and he will run across the zone to fight with you.

No fuss, no muss, no fighting in water.

Especialy for twice the price of even doing this quest you could have Hero's, or do that quest. These are a watse of time

I do not agree with the arguments listed above. The bracer works very nicely along with a hero bracer. The armor class is good and the magic resis is good.
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 24 2000 at 5:10 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) imo this item isnt worth the time. a min lvl of 32 also, by then you most likely have 2 bracers you like. im lvl 17 with a bracer of erollisi (ac5 str5) and a symbol of loyalty to vox (ac7 sv cold) i wouldent trade eather of em for this thing

RE: my opinion
# Nov 22 2000 at 10:51 PM Rating: Default
A tank being feard, charmed, blinded, stuned with a spell, whatever, is no longer a tank. AC and Saves are everything, Bracer of Ro owns joo. I'll take 5 save magic and 1AC over the extra stats that bracer of scavenging gives any day of the week. *shrug* maybe some people like being charmed though =)

This is a good point, but the +5 vMagic is ONLY useful against casters aggroed on you. The rest of the time it's useless, either because the mob isn't a caster at all, or is a necro-type or shaman-type caster that doesn't much use vMagic for its saves (DoTs are against vPoison or vDisease as often as not). AC is useful in *every* fight (even casters have melee attacks). Higher level tanks should certainly have MR gear for the raid-level fights, where the real worry is AoE spells or a truly devastating single attack, but for everyday wear giving AC top priority is a valid choice.

What exactly is your point here? Bracer of Scavenging is the same AC as Ro, and it has no resists. Give me +5 SvMagic over STA and DEX mods any day.

Wait until you wanna go on a raid and the minimum unbuffed MR is 100. Paladins - if nothing else, get this item for that day alone.
