I had just made an erudite necro and was hunting skeles in the paineel yard, when I happened to see this erudite running around madly. Running ahead of him was a skele with a shield....I assumed it was a necro with a pet, until he ran past me and I saw his name - it was in light blue, the color of NPC's. Next thing I knew, he whacked me - two hits and it was LOADING...PLEASE WAIT. I re-popped in the yard and saw this guy again, still running around with this skele; so, I conned the skele. Turns out it was one of the guards that stand at the gate.
I could've sworn I'd seen this guy standing in the room with the pool near the warrens entrance, and I've never seen either him or the guard wander....that, and I've never had him aggro any of my toons before.....

Oh well, just wondering if anyone else has had this happen.

Same thing happened to me with my newbie necro. I was happily killing skellies and rats in the Paineel newbie yard, and *whack* I am dead. Didn't even see it coming.

Went back out there and saw him chasing madly after after that skellie guard. Conned him and he was indifferent. Stood right in his path and he left me alone. Summoned my pet and started killing a fire beetle and *whack* I am dead again.

Looks to me like he will leave you alone, until you start killing something in the newbie yard. Then he goes all medieval on you. Best go sell or do something else till he goes back to where he comes from.

The listed level of 35 for him is incorrect. He cons even to my level 40 necro everytime he spawns. I can also confirm the lack of any faction hits for killing him. He never drops any loot, and the xp he gives seems lower than average.
Not so bad solo spot at 31

I solo him without any problem with a fire 29 pet. Pull with a 1st lvl nuke, get hit by his HT (401 hp), then send pet on him, and heal pet when necessary. Takes about 30% of my mana (only got 187 INT, with low-medium lvl gear). This clown hits for 19 max, spawns every 8 minutes, gives 3,5% xp/kill, goes down within 1 minute and a half.

You can even work Defense/Dodge with him :)

Below is a excerpt from my mages log file, I edited out the timestamps and a lev spell that wore off during the conversation. He's located across from the warrens entrance, in the chamber with the pool of water. I conned him to make sure I wasn't KOS before I approached him.

Erandi Natasu glowers at you dubiously -- You could probably win this fight.

You say, 'Hail, Erandi Natasu'

Erandi Natasu looks nervously about before leaning in close to your ear. 'Do you need [work]?'

You say, 'I need work'

Erandi Natasu says 'My name is Erandi Natasu. I am here representing a group of interested parties among the merchant coalitions across Norrath. You do not need to know who is involved with this. We are looking to hire a few people to [take care] of some things for us.'

You say, 'I'll take care of things for you'

Erandi Natasu says 'Our businesses are hurting, people cannot keep up their stock or afford to stay in business with the upsurge in [piracy] upon our waters. Trade lines are cut between the continents; supplies are not arriving at their proper destinations. It is quite dreadful.'

You say, 'what piracy?'

Erandi Natasu says 'As the pirates that reside in Broken Skull Rock become stronger and more bold, the attacks on our ships have increased dramatically. Would you be interested in helping the very merchants that supply your food and clothing by performing some mercenary services?'

You say, 'I will help'

Erandi Natasu checks over his shoulder. 'Wonderful! There are a few ships in particular that have been causing us much grief, their names are Stormwave, Lady Dirulia, Dandolak's Run, Oceancrasher, and Windscorn. Between these five ships terror has been spread to the end of the seas. Each crew seems to have some kind of common badge amongst themselves, if you can slay two members of every crew I believe the merchants would be satisfied. Bring us these seals and we will be most pleased.

He gives you a Merchant's Crate at this point, put two insignia's from each of the 5 ships inside and combine it so it becomes a Sealed Crate. Hand him the combined crate.

Erandi Natasu says 'How marvelous! The Coalition will be delighted by this win. We have all worked together to obtain this as a prize for whomever would be successful in this mission, please accept it and our gratitude.'
You gain experience!!

He gives you a 10-slot Merchant's Crate (Lore, No Drop, 7.5#, holds large items), it has a combine button so you must combine it before handing it back to him. When combined it becomes a Sealed Crate (Lore, No Drop, 0.1# size Tiny, None/None & can be put inside a container). Handing in the Sealed Crate gives you some experience and a Symbol of Loyalty to the People. Note: all of the insignias are Tiny sized.

I would have to say that he'll probably give the quest to anyone that's non KOS, I've never worked on my paineel factions other than killing a few kobolds which have aggroed on me over the years.

Note: from what I've been able to figure out each of the five ships has a captain which is a rare spawn. They each seem to have a common, uncommon and rare drop. One of the drops is a charm of some sort.

WT: 0.1 SIZE: Tiny

Hehe, I side with the obviously have never played with or been involved in true roleplay. Go try the FV server and see how you get along there with speeches, you be crazy in no time at that rate. I do have to say something about the neck piece though, the ac may not be great but its a nice piece to take along on a raid for the cha and saves. And if you dont understand how the cha issue plays in, talk to your local chanter, they'll tell you.
Don't forget to look behind you......
