That made my day, LvL 51 Enchanter of Solusek Ro Server
My friend decided to be clever and fall down the well invised...well thank goodness he was invised because there was a golem and a Icespike there. He had no way out and I had to get my wizard to save him...it was actually quite amusing.
"OMG! Did you see that?! He mowed over that guy lawnmower style!"
Icespikes see through invis and have a rather large agro radius even to a lvl 70, so he must have been pretty lucky.
In Icewell Keep: Icespikes - see invis skeletons - see invis golems (con dark blue to 70) - see invis golems (con light blue to 70) - do not see invis cubes - do not see invis
They are the easier mobs in IWK Pit, after skeletons. They can be mezz'ed, and they dont resist much. At 55, they almost never resist. At 49-52, you can pass most of your spells if they are Tash'ed or Malo'ed. Note: Our Enchanter (55) was not able to charm them. May be impossible. They hit hard (almost 200), but when slowed they do not hurt so much.
The problem is they have a lot of HP. Dmg Dealers required. DoTs are a good idea.
They drop a lot of gems, and spells (Improved Sup Camo and Improved Invisibility to Undead. Spirit Quickening. One or two others).
Wowa I zoned into IC from the bridge zone see one of these suckers come for me. I am a 56 wizard so I have low ac and he was hitting me for as much as 180 something. Then I had an add. I just managed to zone back out. That was quite an unpleasant suprise. Do they drop anything of value?
rofl, i fell down that damn pit too, i managed to get outta the water, and had no clue where i was heading... one frosticube on my butt smackin me around for like 100 dmg each hit, ran through some hallway or somthin and there were 2 more waitin for me!! i died =( Muse, plz make a map for this zone so ppl dont have to explore that death pit anymore =/
If anyone knows if the xp is good or if it sucks badly, I would hopefully like to take a group down there because KC is so boring now and to many trains.
we zoned in from under the bridge 1 full group 46 tank 52 ranger 49 mage 52 chanter 50 cleric and myself 54 mage we were killin avalanche golems, frosicubes. no problems but 1 at a time any adds and we had to zone everyone was oom or close to it after the fight, my ds helped alot. tash and malosi is a must or some spells will not stick, they can be dotted snared and almost all my spells stuck once we tashed and maloed although it took me 5 tries to malosi an avalanch golem. the frosicube however was alot eisier it did not resist one spell. and i did get quad hit for 700 damage in one round from the golem haha but he did not kill me, loot is not bad some gems but no spell drops for us oh well i think these puppies are invis and do see invis cause i was exploring first and it just popped out of nowhere thanx god dodge and defence are maxed Fizbane shadowborn <insane in the membrane and still alive>magi elementalist 54 lvl Paragons of Conquest druzzil ro
As I was trying to get a port I decided to wander into icewell, I did a who and there was about 60 people there.I also fell down the hole, but an 00ber (=D) guild on my server was down there killing dain,(they succeeded) so I didnt get aggroed by anything. Went ld , came back, frost spike on me, had a wizzie xlocate me with 32 or so hp, newbs, dont go down there!

I was walking around in Icewell Keep, and well needless to say I fell down in the well. Once I hit the water this friggin thing smacked me, I started running and managed to get around the turn only to be smacked by a Frost Spike. I died!! I was determined to get my body back so I invised and hoped that this thing didnt see invis ( They dont see invis ) got close to my corpse and then the Frost Spike argoed I tried to run but didnt get far, so now I had 2 corpses. I thought it would be Im pissible to get corpse so I tried to petition, did`nt help. So I went down again, I kept safe distance form the Frost Spike and waited, I saw that they are patrolling, so I was able to get both My corpses and then I gated out faster than .... .
Hope this info will help other explorers of norrath that are as careless as I was.
These puppies do have a lot of HP. A group consisting of a myself a 56 bard, 54 warrior, 51 warrior, 48 palidin, 49 cleric, 52 wizzard managed to work out a strategy for them which while tedious, did work. These were easily mezzable even though I was dressed more for melee, and had only a 96 charisma setup.
We would simply fight till the cleric was out or mana, mez and med. Cantana the bard mana regen was in the twist both during battle and the mez phase. The first on we did was a 55 as it was yellow to the 54 and blue to me, and required 2 medding cycles, where as the the two other 52 we did only needed one.
As entertaining as this was we did not continue our exploration as the zone would not have been as easy an option, and we were a bit concerned with the fire power requiered for the zone after meeting the Froticubes.
While in Thurgadin, I decided to visit Icewell Keep, being a newbie, I took it upon myself to fall into the nearest hole I could find, I fell for what seemed like a good three or four seconds, imagine my relief upon landing in water rather than solid ground, then imagine my sheer terror upon being turned into mincemeat by whatever the hell this thing is. I can't tell you what it looks like because it killed me too fast.
Don't fell bad either. I'm a 35 monk (34 again now...) who was hunting in thurgadin. I just finished beatin the tar out of a lesser tar goo and figured I'd take a walk around while my HP regened to full. I zoned to Icewell to see if I could take a pic of Dain. I went up a few flights of stair and ran on some big snowy thing. I got to the center, but by the time I saw where I was, I was halfway down the bloody hole. I hit water and thought, "oh thank god, water." Then I saw a white flash under me. I swam to the top as fast as I could but I didn't make it halfway. I'm still at half HP from fighting (about 500hp.)
EQ.txt ON Frosticube hits YOU for 191 points of damage. Frosticube hits YOU for 167 points of damage. Frosticube bashes YOU for 82 points of damage. Frosticube hits YOU for 96 points of damage. YOU have been slain by Frosticube. LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... Returning to home bind point. You have entered Iceclad Ocean. You say, "GOD ****IT I FORGOT TO BIND." EQ.txt OFF
This morning I hit 35 again and got corpse summoned by a 60 necro. /sigh I'm comin back for this guy some day...
don't feel to bad i did the exact same thing last night and i am a level 45 cleric who was just snoping around ..... took 3 hrs to find a necro to summon the corpse so i could res myself..... and it was probably a frosticube that got you .... if you fall down that well there is one sitting in the water at the bottum. he can hit for 187 in a shot :) and if the cube don't kill you the big *** golem sitting right outside that pool of water you fell in will!
These things have an incredible amount of hit points. We had 2 full groups pounding each one and the fights lasted minutes. Also, trying to mez them is a big no-no. Our enchanter was repeatedly killed by these things and when they would jump the enchanter they were practically untauntable.
About 1/3 of the cubes killed dropped a decent item, from crushed gems to spells.
Careful if there are 2 in the area. The fights last so long that 2 can wear your groups down too quickly. They hit fast for about 150-180 damage per shot.
I dont know how much hp it has but it can be rooted.... but watch out they killed a 54 druid in under 5 seconds with all his buffs on and the cubes can summon as well
I was messing around in Icewell this morning and thought I'd drop this guy, see what prezzies he had. Root, epic snare, dot. Sat down to grab another dot, stood back up - bam! summon. Got summoned a couple more times before I zoned.
No resists, but I could tell from what I hit him with, lotsa hps. No thanks. Prolly duo-able with a tank.
I'm diggin' the name...Frosticube hehe. Now Verant can rest assured that I'll always take them seriously. Add this accomplishment to their badass phase pumas and you have quite a legitimate setup going.
