Staff of Discordone time i was in qeynos with nothin to do when i was a lev 5 naked mage, and i did /shout "im gonna solo preist of discord, spectators welcome, ive alreeady done it with all my gear but im gonna try it without any gear, im a lev 59 mage" i then went anon and watched like 15 people come and drop me buffs and plat for donations, then once i got a symbol of naltron i just did /pet attack and ran away. my pet was killed in one hit, then he hit me 300, dd'd me for around 550, and promptly read "LOADING, PLEASE WAIT..." on my screen

hehe man ether you have no life our you have been playing for a while I got a lvl 49 ranger read it lvl 49 Ranger in my second month paying hehe yes its true what can I say im good at rpgs.. anyway I soloed the POD peice 'O' cake so easy man he could barley cast on me hes a weak **** and when i looted him the crappy azz gaurds attacked me I whiped the floor with them mwuhahah I am the ranger king and the stuff I looted I gave to my necro which is now lvl 30 hehe and I only play for like 3 maybe 4 hours a day tops Im not kidding.

If you wre lvl 5 anybody over lvl 3 could con you and realize you were not a lvl 56 mage. Also i don't see why people would donate plat to you...if they thought you were lvl 56, what woul you need donations for? and why would they give you plat in the first place, so they could watch the PoD kill you.........this whole story is dumb, please don't post

I think he may have been nerfed. I tried many times last night to get him to cast his AE on me, but the only thing he cast was the high level cleric nuke.

in gfay you can stand by the lift in kelithin at any lvl and look down and cast on the PoD and he will do that area casting thing and attack a guard! you just keep casting on him and its an easy way to kill him!

I have seen stated about resists. What about the casters that are made to go up against mobs with high resists? The Wizard. They get Lure spells (for high resists). Anyone know, seen or have tried this with a wiz?

Ok, so once in a while the PoD changes outfits. It's crazy. Try charming a bat and getting it to attack the PoD. I think that's how it happened - that's what someone told me. It was crazy though, all the guards jumped the PoD and he was whooping them. I decided I wanted a crack at the PoD.

with my halfling druid, i noticed the POD's change in outfit quite often. He doesnt wear the FBR or wield the staff of discord all the time..
i saw him dual wielding swords, wearing soft wicker, wearing BI armor, wearing Chain, wielding a regular looking staf, wielding a spear...and using a really cool looking staff
i have screenshots of him in all his outfits i saw.
my theory is...many people come from different areas to rv to sell, you can see that by all the velious items being sold there. maybe at dead times, those high lvl poeple kill the pod for fun, xp, or loot..
just a guess.

One of the funnest things to do in Gfay is to watch and bet over the POD-Guards fight. I forget how to make the guards attack him, but there is always a crowd pointing at the POD while he is dying. (I think if you cast at him from far away, he casts an Area Effect Spell and hits one of the guards, not sure.) However, I myself didn't know what giving him the book would mean, I thought it was like a quest. GM's will help remove this horrible status, so don't worry! Good Luck-

once i tried doing spells when the guards where attacking him and he didn't do anything but resist them and once i hit him for 6 damage!

Hey folks - all this argueing is for naught - check out the comment under the staff of discord link - the thing turns into a standard combine morning star after 20 minutes or so "to discourage people from hunting the priest."
Personally, I think that's pretty stupid and petty - out of all of the NPCs in the game that could be hunted, he's the most useless one out there - how many times have you gone to turn a quest item in only to discover that some moron has killed the NPC for the hell of it? How many times have you seen a pile of newby corpses by the spot where a gaurd should be, but isn't because some yahoo killed him for a lousy 3pp bronze weapon?
If they don't want him killed, don't turn him into an uber character, make him into something rediculously useless and easy to kill that no-one will want to or waste their time killing him.

You know, I'm sensing alot of unneeded hostility here - is there any real need for folks to be spazzing out and name calling each other over one lousy NPC that we realistically don't need to kill anyway?
Then again, he is the priest of discord, so I guess he wouldn't be doing his job all that well if he wasn't sowing chaos and discord among the people posting here. ;)

Posted: Mar 31 2001 at 5:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I've read some of the threads, it cracks me up to see the n00bs think all high and mighty of themselves, calling the people who actually soloed POD n00bs, PoD CAN BE SOLOED by any pet caster, all you need is sufficient hp to absorb his couple hits and spells and sow to run around while your pet is beating on it. PoD will NOT detect the pets and will only chase you, so if you manage to evade him for quite a while, the pet will end up owning his (_|_). Astounding as that may sound, it's true, and if you're high level enough (I'd say high 40s), which you're probably not because u obviously don't know squat, I'd advise u to try that on PoD next time u see him. If u can't take his dd dmg you'll die, if you can't take a couple 350 punches, you'll die, but otherwise he can be easily owned.

try to kill the priest of discord! (not the weak they spawn at different level 50 HA! the ones that are level 80 he should con red at 60.) ha hes is every class combined hits for 300-400 roots,snares,AOE Sunstike (POD only spell i think),about 400,000 hp,flyings kicks for about 2,000, scores cripling and criticals alot, somtimes backstabs for like 4,000. not even raids can take the priest of discord you gotta hope hes not the level 80 one!

You been smoking crack? PoD doesn't do half that ****. He doesn't snare, he doesn't Suntrike, he doesn't do flying kicks, he doesn't land crippling OR critical hits, and he doesn't backstab. He is a cleric you idiot.

Actualy once a while ago I have seen him with 2 scimitars... very odd. But that was only once and after someone had gotten the guards on him hehe. Maybe some uber PoD spawns after killing the normal one...

ok,for all of you people who dont know, the only reason he dual weilds or wears any armor other than his robe is because people give him that stuff... and ALL npc's can dual wield at higher levels, no matter what class

OK, assuming that the guy who claims that the PoD sometimes wears armor and weilds weapons other than his staff (who are the crackheads doing this - *I* need armor and weapons - give 'em to me - grin) then if his damage is partially determined by weapons weilded, that means that you could "debuff him" via handing him a pair of rusty daggers and a bunch of tattered armor.

You are all crazy. Especially post number 2. He has skills from all classes... I like to try to snare him when im in rivervale. He backstabs too you fool. I know he has backstabed me before for 900 and i died running to the zone. He is the King.

POD is a cleric that casts a 500dd spell called wrath of god and some low level 120dd cleric spell. He can CH if needed but can NOT back stab or flying kick anything! He can duel weild but so can high level mages who also melee for insane amounts despite there class. His resists are pretty freaking high though and for some reason he does equip armor that is better then his robe when given to him.

the POD is a cleric, thats it, he doesn't BS or do any flying kicks. he can cast, but not for any insane amount of damage. he has realy high resists. he will wear anything you give him regardless of what it says about being for certain classes or size (cloth to bronze, it doesn't matter). he will also equip himself w/ any wepons you give him.

Im a level 8 wiz and when it came time to buy my spells I realized I was low on cash, so I started hanging around at the Kelethin PoD lift and taking donations to do a PoD run. At my hi-lite of my "fame" I was making 8-12 pp to wack the PoD and run like hell. For kicks sometimes someone would cast SoW on me so I would last a couple of seconds longer. I also used to get much smaller donations to jump off the platforms into the crowd below. People started standing around to watch and it became like a circus act. It was a blast!

hey i thoought of something if he was in a zone with a dragon you could have like 100 lvl 60 enc with maxed char and thn charm him and kill the dragon solo no help needed or mabe a god or two
