a locked chest  

Saw this little bugger from the window and decided to see if I could get in. Like a newb I went crawling through the building. It wasn't until I targeted one of the guards with /target and sicked my pet that I realized that there was invisible wall. Any way... I get my pet going on it and decide to push it outside. I'm a level 70 necro so my pet was hitting 104's and BSing for about 320 constantly and dispite my pet's efforts it didn't go past 99% due to regen. I know for a fact that it's regen because I left it alone for about 30 seconds and it regen'ed back to 100. So I called one of my buddies, 70 bst for some melee damage (since it's got about 650 to 700 on all resists). By the time he got there it was convieniantly placed outside pushed against a post in the solid stone wall to the right. So we beat it for about 40 seconds and it goes to 98%. Few minutes later I saw it was at 95% meaning we were beating the regen. I'd say about an hour and 15 minutes later it was dead. I used army of the dead and swarm of decay plenty of times and bst was using his DoD pet every chance he got. When it died corpse disappeared imediately (as a merchant's corpse would do). We were both kinda pissed but it's a good way to test your new melee abilities and/or pets. It never turns torwards you so you can hit on it's back the whole time, and it's only a level 1 mob so you're going to get full damage for most of your hits.

If you're going to attempt to kill this thing don't expect much except being able to say you killed a 2 mil hp mob. (2 mil is max hp for mobs in EQ)
I've killed 5 exterminators (level 35 hitting mobs with 2 mil hp's) and I must say that this is much harder due to resists and regen rate.

Instead of agroing the whole building, bring along your local friendly chanter or cleric... Use Pacify on the two guards in the room with the chest- then kill the shade that spawns. No adds.

FYI, you canNOT direcharm either of the guards in the room with the chest, but you CAN direcharm the guard immediately outside, who just happens to be a convenient lvl 46... Perfect =)

Well, group of us (59 epic cleric, 59 epic rog, 59 epic monk, 60 druid(no epic, on acct he is lazy) 60 chanter, and me 59 pally), were camping Nathyn.

Well, we are bored, so we look for trouble as always, and, we find the chest, as it is a later part of the quest. The rog and I inform our cleric (Fairy, you really are the best) that we will likely need a rezz in a moment.

We attack the chest, and man, what a beating we laid on it, My top crit was 355, and Kaalyn the Rog used some rog disc, and BS was I believe 755x2 on a few occasions.

The locked chest, as of this morning on TN was still sitting serenely behind the bank, unharmed!

Last night I wandered by the chest and saw it at 54% life (man I love the custome UI) so I start in on it... and get it down to 51% by myself in about 25 minutes... well I recruit some friends 4 melee 1 pet and 1 druid...

It doesn't hit back at all,

Guards didn't aggro us... and we had pushed the chest into the corner... two members of the group were kos and never got aggroed by guards...

anyway took us 96 minutes after they arrived... to get it from half life to dead! NO drop NO money NO exp NO faction

BUT, to my knowledge we are the only ones on the server to kill it :) and it felt good killing something so unkillable... something they meant not to kill... :)

Hope this helps anyone thinking that "killing this mob might yeild something, because we are so patient"

uhhh, wow.... thats a wierd one all right, tried killin him, thing didnt budge save for the fact that he moved a little bit when i hit him a bunch of times, but i did well over 6k worth of damage to the thing, must have some kinda of BoxRegeneration or something, but his health only went down 1%, so i gave up, didnt chase me or anything...... still wondering what he does
