One way to describe this guy: Undercon.

Tripled me for 104 each smack, hits fast, runs fast. Had him at 47% to start from a panther, then engaged (dumb). Ate my 2200 hps alive, so I snared him, Burning Arrow, shoot, rinse repeat, took forever. Dropped the usual, FS Dagger + FS Scimitar along with panther hide

I killed his sister this way so I suppose it is possible to do the same to him. Try this if they are at the fire... face them with the camp behind them...look behind you ...there is a panther that is pathed by there and it will stop for a while... pull Yranik over to the panther and let them fight....kill him when he's done. I got the idea for this by watching him get killed by a couple of panthers after I FD'ed him off. As
I said tried it on his sister and it worked. Helps to be a monk too I guess....

I have hunted poachers for xp and AA occasionally while foraging for plant shoots since level 48 or so (I'm level 53 now)and I have only seen him spawn around the camp fire. I can usually land an ensnare on him every time, but of course root is an entirely different matter. He resists root frequently, and I've had root land and immediatley break, or have it last up to 2 or 3 min. I have never had him resist any other spell, ever. I wouldn't say highly magic resistant, just highly resistant to changes in speed. My wis is 245, and all spell skills are maxed, maybe that has something to do with it.

A 45 necro and I (49 SK) killed him last evening. Resisted Darkness about 5 times, but Invoke Fear stuck twice. He hits fairly hard, has decent hitpoints. Had to tank a bit, since the necro was lom, but we survived. I had 7% of my hitpoints left, but that was due to the 3 griffons that were chewing on my head during our fight with Yranik.

He dropped a Flayed Panther Hide, FS dagger, FS scimitar, and Collar of Stalking
I hate this guy

Been chased out of the zone by him once and I mean once. Only because I was LOM at the time. He is very magic resistant, and hits hard. Careful of this guy.
Not that hard

what class? From the name i guess ranger? If so was he a hard **** **** or do u think a kind of twinkie ranger (46) could take him also? If he was hard to ut hen what duo partner should i get to come help me kill him and that freaking half breed who drops the rogue mask. (funny,i'm a half elf lol)

This guy is *extremely* magic resistant. Snare sticks sometimes and root almost never. Even when it does, it doesn't last long. I took him out with WD, Breath of Ro and a nuke or 2.

This guy is definately the toughest poacher in the camp. He is also the highest lvl. He cons dark blue still to my lvl 57 druid and is highly magic resistant. I usually can get ensnare to land 50% of the time. Rooting him can be difficult becuase he often resists and when he doesn't he seems to like to break root after just a matter of seconds. I usually prefer to take him out with a charmed and hasted anaconda or griffon. He always drops a Fine Steel Scimitar, Fine Steel Dagger and the Flayed Panther Hide. Just a note this is NOT one of the 4 named poachers who's heads are needed for the Sigil Ring of Jaggedpine Quest. Oh also he has a larger agro radius than all the other poachers so be careful if you don't want him running after you.

Just got done killing him. Took 4 1100pt dots, and some minor melee as he ran away to finish him off. So I estimate about 4600 hp

This guy jumped out at me when I was pulling the three poachers by the fire, i just quaded him with the other three then rooted and dotted...took three tries for ensare and root did not last very long. He was at 55% Hp when other three died. He dropped the panther skin, does anyone know what the skin is for?

this "Putz" can spawn at any spot in the camp. the back tent tends to get him more then the other tents. He (bless his heart) hits very fast and has a very wide agro range, which can cover most of the camp.

I think he was made to be a druid killer, he is very hard to ensnare with a 54 ranger. he also has a high MR. Like all mobs in this zone he runs at Jboots speed.

Pulled him with snare and rooted him. Hit him with winged death twice and ro's immolate spell.
Never broke root and died in 3 mins.

Yranik was dark blue to me at 56. I couldn't get ensnare to land once in about 8 tries, but I did get engorging root to stick a few times for short durations.

Ended up nuking him down by running ahead, casting scoriae and running before he could catch up.

He dropped a flayed panther hide (no drop) and boots of stalking as well as a couple fine steel weapons.

I took on this fella yesterday (September 1, 2002) beleiveing that he was one of the four named poachers you needed for the Poacher Head quest.

Ensnare stuck at first cast... first root lasted a full 3 minutes, following roots did not. However I DOT:ed him to death with Drifting Death without any problems. Not one spell was resisted.

So if you failed to get ensnare on him 8 times you were just s**t outa luck OR he has been down graded since you killed him.

Always spawns with a FS dagger and scimitar. Also always has one of a few crap loots 5ac 4agi neck or 6ac 15mana boots. Also has some quest pieces which i don't know about yet. LVL 45 like all the named....die very easily.

Yes this guy does hit for up to 108, at least that's the hardest he hit my warrior last night while we were at the camp hoping halfheartedly for a Zed spawn with a burnoose. Oddly enough we got one for our lvl 36 rogue buddy.
