Repairing factions
# Aug 12 2005 at 8:02 PM Rating: Decent
The best way to repair the faction hits from this lil bugger is to the silver bars quest from Fixxin Followig in North karana. 1 Silver bar to him gives a faction hit for guards of qeynos, Antonius bale, priests of life and knights of thunder. Fixxin and his buddies are on the residents of karana faction, and as werewolf hunters hate wolf form, so druids might want to be careful. I found it the easiest way, if not a slightly tedious way to repair factions with the priests. I ruined my reputation with them on my monk by beating up on Scout Malityn. I found it similar to the muffin quest to boost the elven priest factions because it involves no farming. Although itís a slightly longer run from North Qeynos to North Karana, then it is from the bake shop to Pandos Flintside in Freeport and this quest is mighty pricy on a lower player, around five plat for a bar of silver may not seem like much individually, but if you've killed this guy you'll need a few thousand. All and all I found this method a reasonable way of repairing faction. Good Luck and good hunting...!

You know whats funny? My character, Grakl, killed him once, then he respawned 5 sec later and tried to kill me! He is WAY easy though.

I hate this jerk. He stole at least 3 of my kills, and that's at least 3 more chances of getting a gnoll skin for my Burning Rapier quest. I didn't give a damn what faction hits I took, so I've killed him like 5 times. I don't go to Qeynos anyway, so I should be fine.

This is nice to know. Creep stole many kills from my Ikky monk whilst trying to get faction for Qeynos monks. Resisted the urge to swat him down. My Ogre SK will have no conflicts and eagerly skewer the rat.

Anyone know how long this bugger takes to respawn? trying to get words. Factions can be cured.

Just a warning. Watch what you do around this dude. I came up to a poor ranger who was blue to my level 14 druid being hit on by what I thought was 3 gnolls. Being the nice druid he is, Darl hit the gnolls with Cascade of Hail and then healed the dude. After all the gnolls are dead, Scout Matilyn decided to attack this dude. I told him to run, but he turned around and killed the idiot. Great for him, sucked for me. I got to take a faction hit as well. Smiley: banghead

First clue, I was screwed. I ran into the spike room and needed to redo my buffs. While I was meming, some paladin came in and sat across the room. No biggie, WRONG. As I cast my first buff, all of a sudden Scout Matilyn started to attack me. Smiley: confused OH Gnoll SH*T. I run and jump off the snake ledge into the water. He kills me there. OH GREAT, A CORPSE RUN. Smiley: cry

As I come to in N Queynos, where I am bound, I start to mem buff spells. Leuitenant Arutha, who I had been amiable to, wandered by. No big deal, right? WRONG AGAIN SHERLOCK. Next thing I know, I am dead and coming back again. Smiley: yikes Arutha had killed me where I sat, at my zone in point. That, plus he knocked me back to level 13, so I lost SOW.

Guess I have lots of gnolls and bandits to kill now.Smiley: oyvey
May Karana Bless You with Rains when YOU need them, and your enemies with Drought when you need it.
Paladins be warned...

Having some trouble with my pally epic sword Soulfire.. The NPC for the turn-in is scowling.
I killed this mob when I was hunting here at low levels, and now my PoL faction is really awful.

So Paladins willing to do their epic someday, stay off of this one, as many mobs involved are on the Priests of Life faction..
Good luck =)

Beat up on Scout today with my Ikkie Monk and he dropped Blackburrow Battle Plans. A lore item. not sure what it is for. It is always nice to find new items.
He is for a quest

This guy is for the newbie weapon for clerics who worship Rodcet Nife. You need to give him rations and then he gives you a report which you must turn in along with a perfect gnoll skin and 2 severed gnoll paws

were does he spawn?
RE: where
# Aug 31 2003 at 3:58 PM Rating: Default
I found him in that room where the commander spawns, with the wooden bridge. come through the door, over the bridge, and he's on a ledge next to the water on the left--just barely out of eyeshot unless you walk up to the ledge and look down.
So much Fun
# Jul 21 2003 at 9:28 PM Rating: Excellent
Hehe this guy was so much fun for me. When I was lvl 15 I took my necro and camped him. He drops anywhere from 1-9 plat and some high end runes/words. Sold Rune of Al'Kabor for 200 plat. Great exp for lvls 13-17. And who cares about Qeynos? nothing good there anyway...

i killed this guy once with my 16 beastlord, just to see what would happen... BIG mistake. he was apprehensive before - he went straight to KOS. from then on whenever i was in blackburrow, if i went anywhere near him, he aggro'd on me and i had to kill him AGIAIN cuz there's no guards or zones within reasonable distance and he hits HARD. once he even killed me, despite being light blue to me, and i had to kill him TWICE to completely recover my corpse from the bottom of the pool in front of him. my faction is SHOT. oh well, who needs qeynos...

17 beastlord
this guy isn't a push over
# May 26 2003 at 8:32 PM Rating: Decent
I tried to kill him with my 25 pally and he beat me down. I almost died but then i ran and he trained all the gnolls he ran by. I should come by with my lvl 40 bard and do that for fun!

I came here with my shammy earlier on, and this guy appeared to give out plenties of money. Killed him by nuking him several times with my 139 dmg Frost Strike. It is true that you're factions drop down like a stone after killin him, but you get about 8pp each time he dies, and he spawns in each 6 mins once you kill him. Good luck if you're evil wich wants easy money!:)
over 1000 faction points
# Mar 10 2003 at 11:16 AM Rating: Default
First of all this guy not 10, but 16. he is just liek buffed up guard. easily takes down 5-6 guardsmen and a commander if they aggro him

I wanted to get some faction last ngiht, and apparantly factions are ditributed liek this:

Knights of Truth -1000 points
Prists of Life -1500 points
Guads of Qeynos -1000 points
Blood Sabers +500

so even if your good factions at ally, this is not a best way to get BloodSabers up fast.

Well, for me this IS the fastest way to get Bloodsabers up.

Getting my good factions up is a piece of cake.
He has 280 hitpoints (or less), 4 x 71 dot ticks to kill him.

Started Warmly to Qeynos Guards.
Killed Scout Malityn once, went down to Amiable to Qeynos Guards.
Killed Scout Malityn one more time, went down to Apprehensive.

3x dubious to guards, still scowling to bloodsabers.
4x scowls to guards, still scowling to bloodsabers.
5x scowls to guards, glares to bloodsabers.
6x scowls to guards, dubious to bloodsabers.
7x scowls to guards, dubious to bloodsabers.
8x scowls to guards, dubious to bloodsabers.
9x scowls to guards, amiable to bloodsabers.
10x scowls to guards, amiable to bloodsabers.
11x scowls to guards, kindly to bloodsabers.
12x scowls to guards, warmly to bloodsabers.
13x scowls to guards, warmly to bloodsabers.
Your faction standing with Bloodsabers could not possibly get any better.
Looks like the highest a wood-elf, Tunare worshipper can get is warmly.

I killed him 4 more times, and still didn't get higher than warmly.

I killed him one time just for ***** and giggles. Made damn sure he was a green con, first, though. Lowered my pally factions immensely, so I had to hunt bandits for a bit to get it back up. This guy dropped like 5-6 PP in coin when I whacked him, though, so if you're evil or just don't care about faction, he might be a good source of quick cash.
If you were me and I were you, would we still be friends?

Watch out for this guy if you're camping this room. I soloed the room this guy sits in for a few levels (about 16-18) because one big thing spawned there at a time and a gnoll tactician just down the road. Every now and again that crazy guy will yell at the gnolls and run around slaughtering every gnoll in sight. He stole my kill (exp and loot) from a Splitpaw commander once, and an elite gnoll guard a couple of times. I really wanted to kill him but I knew he would tank my faction in Qeynos and I am an ally to all the just peoples of Qeynos. Anyways, watch out for this nut if you are ever soloing that room.
Qeynos Faction? Bah, who needs it...
# Jan 24 2003 at 11:12 PM Rating: Decent
Bah, you don't need to go to Qeynos ever again when you're killing this guy constantly, I started off killing this guy with my 35 beastlord, just for the money.. I recently rerolled, at lvl 19 as a druid, I was completely broke.. Then I remembered this guy, I spent half an hour killing this guy the second he spawns, got about 60pp, not bad at all, gave me enough money for the rest of my spells... Only one problem, I went from Amiable with Qeynos to KoS. Now considering I buy most of my spells in Surefall Glade, I now have to invis myself everytime I go there, why? Cause Qeynos guards are just outside. I can't wander Qeynos hills on the path anymore either... "Guard Nash hits you for 113 dmg!""Guard Nash hits you for 94 dmg""Guard Nash bashes you for 68 dmg"
"You Have Been Slain By Guard Nash!"
Killed him twice 8 P

Took my lvl 20 DE Nec in and wiped the floor with him. Was really good loot for him being a lvl 10 mob. Watch it though, hes hard to hit melee.

And who cares bout the faction, I'm already KOS everywhere bet evil cities.

Have fun.

I killed him and he went from indifferent to Ready to attack. You will suffer a major faction hit from priests of life and knights of thunder. I was lucky and mantained a low dubious KOT faction. I was not so lucky in POL as stated before. ATM, I am amiable to KOT and Threat to POL. Do the bone chip quest to get your faction up. This is the bone quest

unless you dont plan on going into queynos ever again, i dont reccomend you kill this dude. Priests of life were indifferent to me, i killed this guy ONCE and they scowel at me now, killed him 3 times and completely tanked my faction..... damn good money though (for his level)
