Sir Edwin Motte  

Has anyone tried to get him to say something more about the Dart Championship that he claims he won when he's in East Freeport?

There's a dwarf in Thurgadin who also says he is a darts champion, any relation between the two? Is there a quest here hidden somewhere?

A couple of guild mates and I attempted to camp Motte in the Tavern at EFP. Here's the tale.

I get to the Tavern, invised because I'm very KoS there, and in a few min Motte spawns. Well, I was sure I could not take him and a room full of
nasties even with a 49 pet, so I got guild help.
20 min later they show up, and Motte has, of course, de-spawned. So, we bide our time outside the Tavern, because you can see "Sir Edwin Motte begins to cast a spell," outside. Well, a guildie decides we should go in and kill the PH's, so I go back by the stairs and make a pet. Due to indoor pathing he wanders out to the bar, thinking he can bum an Ale (hehe) when he aggros the Bard, and the Shamans at the front of the bar. Well, the Bard went down fast, but those Shamans were tough. Pet couldn't taunt them off me, Enchanter couldn't Mezz, but finally, the Druid rooted the Barb female one and I got a Drain Soul off which finished her off, after she ate me down to about 50 HP's! Ugh...
We got back in and parked in the corner. Took out about 10 more Bards with pet alone >=). We were getting tired, and were going to quit for the night, when the room spawn changed drastically. "Hmm...maybe Motte's gonna make a (brief) appearance?", we thought. A couple bards later, guess who shows up? No...Motte would have been a happy ending. THE BARD TRAINER!! OMFG what the HELL!? He slaughtered The Druid and I with triple hits of 356!!! So, the moral is: Wait outside, and you'll eventual see Motte casting.

Still hunting Motte, but trying elsewhere. KoS towns are bad bad bad.

figuring it would be nice to start my epic quest at level 46 (like I ever have a chance in hell of finishing it) it might be a good start. I knew the first big test would be killing this guy. After reading all the posts on him and his bad@$$ friends I proceeded to freeport (which about 20% of the NPC's don't like me to begin with). I took a 42 warrior with me just to be safe. Well after camping the wrong NPC near the docks (LOL) I was about to leave when I actually went out onto the docks where the boat arrives and there was another tavern there that I checked out. there was a single bard in there also with 2 npc looking chars at the bar that I figured would be friends. A bell went off and I figured this was the place. Well being KOS to all Bards I pulled up a pet and then walked in.. Well needless to say my pet made fast work of the bard and the 2 friend NPC's at the bar to my surprise Ran off. hahah maybe I scared them. Well after about 15mins a second Bard appeared just as I got rid of my pet and was about to depart empty handed. well 2 more npc's arrived at the bar that met description of the ones I had been reading about. but no Edwin.... Well I'll be damn if about 3mins later I saw a big NPC announcement from non other than Edwin Motte saying he didnt like the quite and something about pallies ruling the world etc... well at this point I began the plan on how to take this bugger out.... I was going to die trying for sure. I figued the bard in there was one of his friends and would agro me so he'd be an easy kill but single pulling edwin may be a problem. At that point a dwarf pally walked up and I asked if he'd be willing to help kill at least one of the NPC ogres that would obviously not be to bad a faction hit for him. He said NO but he could single pull Edwin if we let him zone before we finished him... Well I jumped at that chance and waited outside. At level 46 I heard of all the horror stories of level 50+'s not being able to handle him. Kind of confusing that he was green to me and my pet solo's the occasional HG with not to much trouble. Well He pulled ol' Edwin out to the dock and I proceeded to snare (doom) him. not wanting to fear him back into the tavern to get his friends I stood my ground with my warrior buddy only on stand by if it got nasty... Well he did heal him self twice but with the 44 DOT and a coupld of ignite bones he went surprisingly quick.... being a little scared I kind of mana dumped him and killed him before the Dwarf zoned. (felt bad for about 30seconds) then I looted the fools head and a regular ringmail bracer (worthless). It was kind of neat taking the head back to lake rathe and getting the apprentice card and then taking it to the DE in NEK forrest. guess I'm off to get the FBR in Najena now... Hope this helps and I'd be willing to guide anyone in need on Rodcet that needs it...

Hes part of a spawn circle in efp in the tavern at the dock. Ive seen him spawn near the stairs up to the bedrooms, all few minutes the NPC that stands there will despawn and after some minutes a new one will spawn his "PH" is a male barbarian in leather.

Who is this master Necro? I killed this guy for the EXP, got his head. Wish I could give it to ya, but it's no drop =(

The quest is the necro epic quest, you must kill hi8m and return his head to the master necromancer in lake rathetear, it would be cool if some one would kill him and give me his head ;)

Does this guy remind you of Magnum Opus?

Its the Dart Throwing Quest, the Reward is the "Medal or Pointlessness" (-8 CHA), you must be a master fisherman to participate.

This guy also appears sometimes in Rathe Mountains. Paladin.
Also heard he appears in Highpass and Qeynos Hills or Karanas.

May be quest related. when you say Hail to him he responds something like "Greetings. How lucky you are to encounter the greatness of the legendary Sir Edwin Motte, slayer of cyclops', battler of beasts, crusher of creatures, masher of monsters, eradicator of evil and champion of the third annual dart championship of Freeport."
