After taking a little time trying to pick apart differnt mobs in the area to see what would be a PH here, what i have found is killing a giant diseased rat, a giant yellow recluse, a clockwork rebel, and rouge clockworks will spawn these little guys.

OK after further clearing i was getting no spawns of any of those mobs on my list and only had harpy's and elemental's in the area SO they are on the same spawn table also.

I always come to Steamfont for brownie parts and today there are no brownies on track and I'm the only person in the zone.

Same thing a few hours ago.

over the last few months I have gone to steamfont looking for these little ones, for complete day cycles, to no avail. They do seem to be missing, or they take weekends off.

Perhaps a Faydwer wide search is needed....

At least Nillipuss and the brownies in LFay are there.

The search for brownie parts
# May 17 2005 at 1:08 AM Rating: Excellent
After getting 2.5 stacks of parts, I can say that the brownies near the caves are on the same spawn table as just about everything there (even the minos outside the cave). I'm not sure about the missionary; it was the only thing not green, so I took it out as soon as it showed up, but I did see brownies up at the same time as it. I found it helpful to agro everything I could and drag it to the guard next to the windmills. Pulling through the middle windmill will usually get another guy to help the guard. When I got back, there'd generally be a couple brownies. Tracking is very helpful; these guys are really hard to see. I did find a couple in the northwest part of the zone, so that is worth checking too.

I just killed a few of these today. I was surprised that it dropped loot called "Arrow of Stunning". It has an attack delay of 0 (not sure what that means), does 4 damage and has a range of 100. I'm guessing by the name that it will also have an effect of stunning, but I haven't shot it yet.

I need a ton of theses parts for baking. I found out how to farm them in LF at low levels but I would like to farm the lvl 9 in stamfont. (much easier)

I took my 40 ranger and there are a ton on track. It seems they spawn or are IN THE MOUNTAIN near the gears. I killed every thing around that mountain. ONLY 1 came out with no drop.
I would pay good pp on Tunar for info that gets them buggers to come out and play.

These guys drop a TON of coin. I was hunting mountain brownies in Steamfont as an alternative to getting my *** handed to me by lv 30+ brownie guards in LFay, and out of the first three or so I noticed numbers of gold and/or copper ranging from 20 to 55.

Yup, I looted one with my ranger alt. Maybe it's for a quest, but I can't find it listed.

If anyone finds out anything about this new goodie, please post what you know. Thanks :)
G Fay Brownies
# May 08 2003 at 6:49 PM Rating: Decent
Rare spawn brownies in Greater Faydwer are found near the trail from Butcher Block to the Spires. Stand at the first cutoff on the trail, the one that goes dead end. Your very close to spawn point of G Fay Brownies.
A few observations

1. About 2 out of 3 have brownie parts.

2. Killed about 30 to get a stack of parts and saw the leg twice.

3. They have been seen in several places in the zone but there are 3 that spawn close in time to each other in the valley near the mines (where the minotaurs are).

4. The ones in the valley seem to be on the same spawn table as the Kolbold Missionary because I never saw the brownies up when the missionary was up nor vica-versa. I had to run him to the guards to get brownies (or another Missionary Smiley: frown ). There may be other mobs on this spawn table but not sure what (maybe Krags). Not sure if you have to keep the general mob population down to trigger this spawn table or just wait the 15-20 minutes reported elsewhere; I slaughtered just to be sure.

5. They drop from a few gold up to 44 gold which is very nice for their level.

I just gotta say - I so wish other comments on these entries (any comment page, for anything, really) were more like this one. Great info, thanks!

I think these also share part of the Nillipuss loot table. I got some Arrows of Lightning, Fire and Ice and something else, a few times

The maximum level here is incorrect. I had an even con Mountain Brownie last night and my character is level 11. Only even con Brownie I found that night though...

Rare Spawn
# Jul 31 2002 at 7:58 PM Rating: Decent
Is it me or are these things rare? And the drop that you need is even rarer? Guess I'll have to get a ranger to track these for my poor little mage. Bloody impossible to get a simple leg from these things when you do find a brownie, only part I need to complete the entire set of newbie gear.
what spawn table are these with?
# Jun 19 2002 at 11:27 PM Rating: Decent
These are located in the Northeast corner of steamfont near the minotaur caves and the giant gears. I have seen as many as 3 at a time there on track, and dispatched each in turn. It seems like during the day (RL day) there are occasionally brownies that spawn, but at night, when hunting in the zone slows down, no brownies. I do not know what else is on their spawn table; doesn't appear to be the stuff in the northeast corner of the zone (elementals and harpies seem to be related though). Any thoughts/experiences? What makes these buggers spawn?

Killin drakes and clockworks seem to spawn them for me......i get them to pop about once every 10-20 mins......only seen the leg once.....and it is tradeable....sold it to a merchant...wish i would have known somebody wanted it
where are they located at?

any clues?
Just the facts...
# Jun 09 2002 at 2:09 PM Rating: Decent
Soloable as a non-twink L12 ranger, aggressive to just about anything & everything (see faction info). Loot is about 30gold or so, plus misc items- pretty good for the level/area.
