For those of you who do not get it, his name has a historical context, and not in the same sense as some others have indicated such as Mater Baitson.
Bait Masterson was named after a real-life lawman in the old west named Bat Masterson. Probably the reason for losing faction with the high council and paladins in Erudin and gaining faction with the heretics when you kill him.
has any1 ever thought hes called "bait" cause hes a grat fisher, sinse in fishing u use bait to catch the fish, any idea what hes for? he appers in fp aswell and the aqua ducts

His name has nothing to do with ************* it was a simple word change from Bat Masterson, who was a great American in the olden days. Same as Vhalen Nostrolo, an NPC bard in SK. Vhalen could be switched to Van Halen; a band that you ignorant pants-wetters probably haven't heard of because you were born three years ago...maybe if we all weren't so ignorant his crappy world would be a better place, lol.
i'v seen this guy in the qeynos auqaducts(i really suck at spelling)by the water.. he was kos to my friend.. but not me.. he hit for around 20-30.. i'm gussing somewhere around level 24-27.. my friend was level 21 and he was red..
Having started in FP, i saw this guy. I also knew that he only spawns in the day and gets replaced by a DE at night. Well, I just got to Qeynos to hunt in Catacombs, when I saw him in there! He spawns very near the pool enterance by monk guild, at NIGHT! This means that he hangs out in FP by day, then coms the Enterprise to beam him (Beam me up, Verant!) to Qeynos at night, where he stays till the next morning. I wonder if that DE does the same thing, but apears in Qeynos by day. Hey, since we can go to the moon in the next expansion, shouldn't PCs then get to use transporters like this guy?
Pc's do get to use transporters. Ever been to Erudin, or used the caster's guild in Freeport, or the cleric guild in Qeynos? All of these use transporters.
I believe the name is a just a made up version of the real one, 'Bat Masterson', a private investigator or some law enforcement guy, back in the old western day. Same era as Wyatt Earp days I think, correct me if I'm wrong. In fact, he could have been a gambler even.
You're partially right. Bat Masterson is a real-life fisherman. Everybody else that was making comments in a sexual natue really nead help and to come into the real world.
Actually, he WAS a real-life gunslinger! Born as William Barclay Masterson in 1856, he started out as a buffalo hunter, fought at the Battle of Adobe Walls, and was named one of the Dodge City Peace Commission 'employees' by Wyatt Earp in 1883. Elected Sheriff of Ford County at 22, was offerred a U.S. Marshalship in Arizona by President T. Roosevelt, but instead chose to accept a post in New York State. Eventually he quit the law enforcement business to work behind the much safer desk of the New York Morning Telegraph's sports writer position. He also wrote a book about his life. He earned the name "bat" because as a Marshal he often clubbed errant cowboys on the noggin' with the cane that he was forced to carry after being shot in the leg as a young man. Died in 1921 at the age of 65 due to sickness. Phew! Now that's all cleared up, I'm going to go bash this NPC some more. - Paghk of MT

If you thought he was a gambler, you probably confused him with the character Sky Masterson from Guys and Dolls, played by Marlon Brando in the Broadway premier.
May be some confusion due to the Earp's relationship with Doc Holliday (a vicious gunfighter who suffered from TB and went West for "the cure") who was a prominent gambler. Doc was a close friend of Wyatt and the Earp brothers and participated in the famous (or infamous) Gunfight at the OK Corral, a frequent subject of several movies. As far as I know, Doc and Bat were friends with Wyatt at different times and places, however.
A pirate spawns at his spot at 10 PM. Her name is Giz Dinree. LVL 14-16 I think I killed her with my lvl 15 Pally friend. She has a lot of good factions and one bad. Hits hard 20-30. I didn't turn my back but i'm pretty sure she back stabs for around 80. She is slow. It's funny when you pull her to the Bar with the Stein of Moggok quest (My favorite one in the whole game ) and watch her die from Scar and Swiftfingers kicking her ***.
