He is on Coalition of Tradesfolk Underground faction. You can raise this faction easily by doing the first steps of the Rogue Errands quest. Just get as many of the bent playing cards as you can carry (they're not lore) and hand them in to the dark elf outside Qeynos. Drop or destroy the note you get back from this step. The only negative faction hit you'll get is for Ring of Scale, which is the Kunark dragons like Gorenaire, Talendor, etc., and some mobs in Skyfire and other areas.

Gregor Nasin is one of the top bartenders in Freeport. A dedicated man, he is very devoted to remaining at the top of his profession.
A true professional, he is very willing to pass on to the beginner an excellent and mystical book, the Barkeep Compendium, if you can help supply him with some ingredients that he needs to practice some new recipes.
Gregor's personal quest for exotic recipes means that he would like a Kiola Nut, Eruds tonic, Honey Jum, and a Koalindl fish corpse. If you can retrieve these items for him, he'll reward you with the Barkeep Compendium.
Co-incidentally, an Ogre named Clurg in Oggok has a desperate desire for that book (and I believe that he's the author).

In the inn by the docks, I believe it is called the seafarer's roost but I could be wrong. Anyways, if you get off the boat and head down the dock, he is in the building to your left. He is behind the bar and is the closest one to the door.

He dropped the book alright. Me and Bronto Thudfood go way back, so there was no hassle. Afterwards we got bloddy pissed and played darts all night. True story.
