58 Beastlord with tier 1 journeyman tank merc and 58 spell pet. First time ever doing and epic quest line.

Was very close but he finally started walking at 3% because my merc was just below 10%

My pet and merc didn't find their way to me when the spirit engaged for about 10 seconds, so when you run up from the scout wait for your team.

But he comes from the shadowmens direction like posted by others, just go SW wait for your team then head a little south and you'll see him coming. GL

If you're doing this with a lot of mercs or pets that you'll be relying on, best bet is to set up group at the shadowed men as mentioned before. In the short distance from the scout to the spirit, the pathing for mercs/pets takes them WAY out of the way of the fight, and could take them a good 30 seconds to get to you after the spirit aggro's you.

Procs Enveloping Fog (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.html?id=2053&source=Live) a lot. Like almost every hit. it's very easy to resist, I resisted it every time with 239 MR.

Scout Rahjiq was at approx 180.03, -1893.01. After hand in run SW and you will see him. He is north of the shadowmen temple. He was the hardest spirit creature I fought but took him down with a 64 Bst 28 AAs. Had to have a healer though.
poorly played

ok this spirit seemed to be the hardest for me. In total i had 4 attempts at him, his high resistances is what makes him so hard. First try i duo'd with a lvl 70 beast, the spirit went to 37% and it was looking good, until the beast ran out of mana, then we had to run for our lives. The second try i did it with different lvl 70 beast, he had his lvl 70 pet though, and things were looking promising, however this time we got the spirit to 47% >.<. third try i solo'd this time i did the best, and got him down to 17%. fourth time lucky though, this time i came prepared, i had a lvl 70 cleric with me, this time it was fun because i got to get back revenge.....sweet, sweet revenge :p

Did this today, lvl 56 bst, with my lvl 68 necro friend. Indeed just the 2 of us! blinded me a couple times, just backed up and let pets take agro, kept summoning necro. Resisted all my spells. So stood back and healed pet til oom,
we had him down to 24% life by this time, at about 14% health he killed both pets, and didnt start walking away til 10%, so me and necro, with his rod, and my spear and mace beat him to death, as necro was oom too. I was oom with 24% life when he dropped. It was a sweet battle!
Only 4 more totems to go!!

The key to this fight...

Well, I suggest that anyone who is thinking about this fight simply get a fairly high level bard and tell them to twist amplify and Veeshans. I made up a 5 song twist using /mel - amplify, Veeshans, rizlona, zek, katta, veeshans, rizlona, zek. I had a hotkey that started it there and one that ran: veeshana, rizlona, zek, amplify, veeshans, rizlona, zek, katta. The point is that I used the first one to start initially, and the second one to restart if amp was still up. My goals were:

1. Always have amplified Veeshan's up. This adds a ton to resists.

2. Secondary to that, supply haste and amplify nukes. (Rizlona).

3. Then add the buffs and DS of Zek - and if someone is dispelled, make sure they have a good base haste.

4. Then add a song (katta) which I can't miss a note on (aa's) which has a decent chance of debuffing mob in many circumstances.

For non-bards, amplify adds to the effect of "singing" songs and lasts 30 seconds - so you want a twist with an amp every 5 songs. Katta debuffs the mob's dex when it procs (if it sticks) and increases weapon proc chances so it seemed like one that would be effective if it was down half the time since the debuffs last for a while.

This allowed me to use melody even if I missed notes and to keep amplified veeshans up constantly. AS I mentioned, I have 1.0 epic and AA's so that I don't miss notes on low level songs like Amplify.

The lowest MR in the party was 300 - that was from the low level BST who we were fighting for, and most people were 330-350. No one was blinded, not even once. With that annoyance taken care of, this became a fairly easy fight with a couple of BST, a druid, and a chanter. The MT and the druid had MR from spell as well, and the rest depended on Veeshan and items.

None of us have the MR that someone from say. the PVP servers needs. This helps a party get this resistance so that the mob then simply becomes a matter of DPS. And these days, the mob simply does not have that DPS.

yes that is a great plan. Make sure your whole group is at shadowman camp just south of Scout.
Have the Beast do hand in and wolf will pop, they had it down to 75% in the 6 secs it took me get there
BST/Mage/Druid easy trio
# Nov 16 2004 at 4:17 PM Rating: Decent
Just finished this fight for a 52 bst. Easy trio with 62 mage (epic pet with Virtue), 62 druid, and 52 beastlord. We had a 52 druid along to backup heal as well, but she was standing directly on the spawn spot so went down very fast.

Epic mage pet tanked, I told the BST to turn off pet taunt and not bother trying to slow.

Max hit of mob was 225 on both druids. Blind wasn't an issue since we were pet tanking. Most of the mage's fire nukes landed for close to full once we got mala and Hand of Ro on the mob.

Mage only had to patch heal the pet once, and druid finished fight at 40% mana (3600ish mana pool, No KEI on the druid, though I did have cabbage, mask of hunter, FT5 and mount).

All in all, epic mage pet with virtue plus any CH healer with 3k+ mana and you're good to go.
Can be soloed
# Oct 01 2004 at 4:42 PM Rating: Decent
Definitely the hardest of the 6 Spirits. 66 Beastlord with 162 AA's. Having a pet suspended fully buffed with toys is highly recommended. Wasn't immune to slow like other 5 Spirits but it never landed anyway. Hit's hard and fast. Had a magic resist about 250 during this fight, was never blinded. Bring a healer for this one, makes it much easier.

It was me (65Bst) a 59 Druid and a 65 Enchanter. This guy seemed to have a heck of a lot of HPs. But none the less we got it done pretty quick. We did 3 of them last night and this one was the hardest of the 3.

Also it seemed to proc every time it hit someone. Cannot confirm that information though.

Hits around 200 and kicks for 85; at least for a low lvl char.

Was spotted near Ranger Outpost and assumed to be a roamer.

I did it with my lvl 65 Bard tonight and solo him cuase I couldn't get any help, and my bst needed him. All it takes is Selo, Paslm of Veeshan (if you don't have 200+ resistance just with equipment), Wind of Marr, Song of Shield (reduce dmg), Chant of Fire (This only chant that sticks). You kite him around where he spawns just in front of the shadow men it does take a long time took me about 30min or less to take him down but I did it. btw I have 153 aa

I have never played a Bard but I dought one could solo it. ( this mob summons ) But a 65 bst and 65 druid took it down fairly easy. Couldnt get it bst slowed so I gave up and when he was down to 30 percent I realized I forgot to haste my pet. After I hasted pet he dropped very quickly.
Not easy!

Killed this wolfie today with a 65 cleric, 65 wizzy, 57 beasty and 2 65 shammys. I (65 shammy) opened up the fight a bit unprepared (got too close and it ran after me), beasty and wizzy died kinda fast, cause our cleric was still lost somewhere out of range, lol. After moving the wolfie to GF zone, I zoned, invised and zoned back to LF. Ran a bit away, got another pet our, buffed it fully and meanwhile it came back from zone, cause I got a bit too close I guess, hehe.

Basically it's been a pet-fight and lasted a few minutes, but without any deaths once we were prepared. Resisted all slows, magic and disease one, even after all debuffs. The only DOT I could land was from the Spear of Fate (epic), others was just waste of mana as of the huge resists of him.

End of the story: wolfie dead, Beasty happy cause he got another piece for his epic =)

Did this spirit for my epic today and all I can say is OUCh!! Do not I repeat DO NOT underestimate this pup. He was resisting most if not all the wizzy necros and mages casts. And the most frustrating factor is his Blind spell. Mostly I agree with what Athairic Guru says about this bad boy (see post below). Try to get your MR up as far as you can through items, clerics, bards, and your Discipline resist but don't relie on it fully. Got mine up to 281 and was still able to blind me. Anyways all you aspireing Beastlords out there be ready for one tough battle.

Killed him today. And it went no wear near as smooth as I figured it would. I was in a small group of 65 necro, 55 pali, and me a 60 beastlord. We had taken out the spirit of torment with little problems. He even took us off guard and we took him down Easily. So we try for this spirit. He shredded us pretty fast blinding, summoning, and biting. Went though two of my pets one necro pet then the necro, pali, then finally me.

When we went back to get our bodies he was standing at the zone line to gfay. We got a cleric and another palli to join our crusade. By the time we were able to take it on again there was a pile of corpses at the zone from every poor adventurer that stepped in the zone. I watched an iksar go down. I tried to warn him to run back but took about enough time for me to type "ru" before he was dead. I guess the lesson I learned from this encounter was "DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE WOLF!" I’m definitely going to bring a much larger force to the others.

Weird experience killing this guy
# Dec 15 2003 at 2:58 AM Rating: Decent
My 61 BST and a 65 bard decided to we could take this wolf alone but things immediately turned bad when I was immediately blinded. I ran and when my sight came back my warder was almost dead. The bard then kited him around the square spire for about a minute while I got another warder out and ready. Luckily a high level mage was wondering by and offered help when the wolfy was at 75%. He sicked his pet and I sicked mine after (both sowed of course) and basically watched the 2 pets chase the wolf around the square while the wolf chased the bard. Quite funny considering I thought after the first 3 seconds that we were dead. Fight lasted about 5 minutes and I found it impossible to melee while running in a circle. Needless to say we beat the wolf, the mage got the exp for the kill and I got my totem.

we had an encounter for our guild's BL's epic. here's the thing..

1) summons. "Bad boy! leave my corpse alone! *pokes dog with a stick* if you're going to the zoneline, make sure you're invis, because if you're not, you're going to die sooner than you think...
2) magic. OMG! he resists SO MUCH! I casted around 10 moonfires and only 1 stuck. Ugh!
3) blinds. bad doggy made our tanks go insane with blindness. all of them started screaming CRAP! Im BLIND! I'm not sure about the MR, but almost everyone kept on getting blinded constantly.
4) OUCH. I gained aggro on accident by healing the tanks, and he hit me pretty damn hard! doubled for both 200s, I was running like crazy.

the clerics and shamen actually had to mem the lvl 1 spell Cure Blindness and cast it constantly. They were very busy with it while the wizards were wasting mana getting resisted the chanters constantly casting tash and slow and the mages + necros doing the only dmg they could do with their pet. ouch!
our first group got wiped out pretty fast since we couldn't heal everyone fast enough. then came the second..
Sigh!
Becareful of this bad puppy.
Tankage your best bet

The beastlord in my guild saw the scout up and decided to do this phase of his epic. Here is a recounting of what we did and how we resolved a messy situation. Learn from our mistakes we did.

We had two full groups: all were high 40s to mid 50s. Beastlord, Shaman (2), Wizard, Enchanter, Warrior, Cleric, etc. Pretty much a little bit of everything.

The turn in was done and the Spirit spawned. He is hard to miss and spawned just near the shadowmen camp. The warrior got aggro and I cast my slow spell. Then the chat exploded. "Resisting" was the key word, followed by "I'm blind!"

There is the Spirit for you. He has a nasty AOE blind spell followed by some hard hitting (tripled me for 230+). But our spells were resisting like crazy. Everything from the Tash to the Malo lines were resisted. My slow spell never touched him, but gained me aggro. I was blinded and the next thing I knew, I was at my bind point and naked.

Now it got interesting. I got to Lfay and went in. I hadn't even gotten a few steps into the zone when I was summoned by the Spirit, blinded and died again. Thinking that one of my DoT's or slows had landed, I got back to Lfay. I had barely zoned in before I was once again summoned and died. Three deaths in three minutes. Ouch.

The zone was, unfortunately, being terrorized by the Spirit. Our two groups were wiped and the rest of the innocent souls in the zone were being slaughtered.

But, we had an obligation to the people in the zone to kill that thing. We knew our spells wouldn't work, so we asked a few high-level tanks to join us. We set up while our druid in wolf form ran the Spirit around until we got ready. Now, here is a very important point: If you die and go back into the zone to loot your corpse, make sure you are invisible. The Spirit cannot see through invis.

We regrouped, got our rezzes while our poor druid took the spirit around the entire zone. We lined up the tanks and I had them make "I'm blind" hotkeys (MAKE THEM DO THIS!). We buffed them like crazy and the druid brought the Spirit to us. Our job was to protect the tanks. The clerics healed them and I kept them with sight. From start to finish the battle took less than three minutes.

We killed off the Spirit, rezzed the innocents (who, thank goodness, were quite understanding since we announced what we were doing before hand) and left the zone.

So, here is what we learned:

1) Tanks are your best bet at taking this down. If you have three tanks (level 55+), two clerics and a shaman, you can add pets to the mix and take this creature down rather quickly.

2) This bad puppy resists just about everything until you get him near death.

3) The only people who survived being blinded were those with MR 120 or above.

4) You will get summoned if you have engaged this mob and return to the zone to do a CR, unless you are invisible.

5) Rezzing the innocents and giving them Barbarian-shaped cookies goes a long way to help soothe their frustration of being killed.

Good luck on this, my beastlord friends.
words of advice
# Dec 29 2002 at 11:23 PM Rating: Default
I am a bst of the 46th level and have been studing the spirits and how to kill them fast and clean. The secret is simple and not many would like to agree but it is simple. Your groups should if you think you need two. I think one shall do fine. Take or hire a 65 overlord, 55+ monk, chanter, shaman, and yourself bst. And the last spot fill with an sk or pally. have the guys ready for call of hero in case of being summoned by the stupid brownie that roames LF. Have monk and overlord attack, shaman to haste both melees chanter to make sure no adds are welcome. and off course your pet to attack and you to be its cleric. Cleric at any time should only have to worry about the monk or the overlord. Now if they are smart they will stand just out side of the aoe blind and will still be able to see if they need to heal of mezz. Now if you have a sk or pally in there make sure that the sk sends his pet and that he uses all his mana taking both health and mana for the spirit. A pally to have his lay on hands up and ready top keep the tank alive. All in all it should take no more than one group of skilled players to take this puppy out. Oh and as far as it goes can not be slowed but it can be incapacitated and debuffed. That helps too.

Remember you lives of your party is only how smart you are in combat not how much brawns you bring.

And for the chain death guy it was that stupid brownie not the spirit. and if you were bound in gf he would have only killed you once.
