SO... I go back for revenge as i find myself running through SONH for Fun...These con Green to lvl 74.. and are easily necro soloable at this level. They DO Summon... but don't hit as hard as I remember from when i tried them last (What Char or level, I have no idea) They all Did resist my highest lvl poison dot, but that was about all, so wouldn't reccomend a grp or lower lvl player using poison on em... mebbe will go back and try disease... see if a shaman is completely ruled out for soloing em... (Kinda like the undeads in Veksar. They didnt resist Drain Life or Ashengate pyre, Which is all I used.. Along with pet. Overall, I wouldnt assume these would be good to hunt.. Killed 6 of em and none dropped anything worthwhile (Pristine silk.. a few gold.. spinneret fluid.. Bleh). However if you're a 55-60 grp lookin for exp and want to go unusual places (That last part is key) Then you may want to check it Out :)
I think it's funny listening to all you and how scared of them you all are I use this path all the time with my mage omw to TT (I just like swimming up the waterfall Lol) my pet (54 air pet) just with a V Burnout III and my lava shield lasted awhile with me healing him if my group wasn't yelling at me (common small's your killing us we have to get moving) who where all already in OS I think I could ave taken one down but thats me and you want mobs that hit ard try try Elite Sun Revenants took my warrior to Scarlet Desert hit by one of these three times 1217 first hit 1486 second hit and 1847 last and killing blow so when you get hit for 25+ it's not so bad after that
This monster killed me and my pet in about 5 seconds (64 Beast). I didnt know what hit me. I could not pull it with spells, but if I got into the water he was on me fast. The only way I was able to get my corpse was to invis and drag. He must not be able to see through invis.
Well there's no place to post about Ithiosar, so I did here.
Do the ravagers have any connection in spawning Ithiosar the Fallen (yellow con at 65) who, when killed spawns Ithiosar the Black, (red con) !?
I've seen this dragon twice in about a year.. Pre PoP, he wiped 120+ in approx. 30 seconds on Tribunal. Tonight, he spawned again ... both died to DA (Dragon Army, tier IV), and us (NGoH, tier II/III) and some others in about 5 minutes. Is the mob a GM spawn? or just ultra rare trigger? I've neevr witnessed the spawn personally and I heard someone OOC'ing that there was a way to wake the Sleeper, becuase Ithiosar was up!? (no clue how true that might have been). Anyone have any info on this mob, aside from the nice loot?
I zoned into Swamp of no hope and for some reason one of these was at the zone into Cabilis. With my 46 sk who has about 1k ac I was hit for a little under 200 and bashed for 156. This guy hit very hard and very fast. -Location- These are mainly located in the cave inbetween TT and SONH on the right side of the water. Make sure you don't go underwater because some are there. They also are in a little side cave in the cave going to TT. There is also one on the side hill inbetween FV and TT zone entraces. On Eq atlas they say the place where the under water ones are is a Iksar bandit camp and the side cave is a Froglock cave. There are Iksar corpses all around so I can see how it used to be a bandit camp. They dont see invis and ive heard they summon.
Last time I was in Swamp of No Hope was halloween 2002. A large dragon spawned there named Ithiosar the Black. These things where gaurding him. However we managed to take down Ithiosar and he dropped the Battle Fury Girdle which I won. The stats are 35 ac 15str 15stam 75hps 25svp. Once he was dead another Ithiosar spawned and killed us all. We all wiped again and the dragon despawned.

I zone out of Cabilis into SoNH on my 50 monk. While zoning I run to the washroom. I come back to find myself nekkid at bind. I blink, confused. I have my hitsmodes to number only, and I see "You have been slain by a black ravenger!"
I really hate these. I remember a long time back when I was playing my Iksar warrior (level 9 at the time) and I was surprised by one of these in one of the merchant buildings near the Cabilis zone. Thank god I hadn't dinged 10, otherwise I would've had to go and get my corpse..somehow. What the hell are these for?
Just thought i'd mention but on our server (veeshan) we have one literally at the zone line to Cabilis, the damn thing caught me out when i logged back in after one of the epic fights there and i ran back to cab only to have my lizzie butt nibbled on. fortunately it was the day of the bad patch so i zoned crashed and kept all my buffs.
anyways he doesnt seem to leave the zone line and guards wont agro onto it no matter what. only had one proper go at soloing it (52BL) and only got it down about 3% in the 20secs that me and my pet lasted, but going to explore fear, dot tactics.
my advice is that people should be extremely carefull around these bad boys, coz they wiped almost 2000hps of me in no time at all, bearing in mind that one killed my pet 2500hps in the time it took me to get one heal on to him.
I've been through there a few times and once while traveling through with a few guildies, to our surprise we saw a black dragon sitting at the back of the cave near the iksar corpses. We didn't dare go near him, too many of the revengers and he was prolly twice as red as any of them. We stood there across the water *and as far away as possible* and admired the dragon for a bit before continuing on. The dragon was named *something* the Fallen. I think his name started with an 'I' but due to my bad memory I have little chance of remembering. If anyone knows anything about this mob and whether it might have been some GM event or not, I'd like to know. My curiosity is eating at me. Also, if you enter the cave (heading towards trak) and stay to the left wall, there's a hidden tunnel *kinda hard to notice at first* on the right wall, a bit before the tunnel opens up into the cave. I invised and explored a bit...more revengers in smaller caves. Could they be phs for the dragon?
This is some new event quest in the Swamp of No Hope. It is similar to the Ring of Fire and Ring of slime quests in Acrylia and Cazic Thule. Not sure how it is started though. Maybe killing enough Black Ravengers?
Heading to Trakanon's Teeth last night to go after Seb keys, there were about 12 of these on track in the pond area near the zone. I got fairly close to one to look at it un invis, probably just outside of melee range. Then decided to get smart, and invis up.
They must not have too terribly bad of an aggro range, because my Cleric and Enchanter friend made it through them un invis. But still, I don't care to find out first hand.
Heh, leaving I made the comment about how they looked like the ball and chain chimping things from Mario Brothers.
After an evening of exping in OS I decided to go bank my loot, long story short, I zoned into Swamp of no hope and after a short swim him attacked by 4 of these .. they quickly proceeded to kill me in under 4 seconds ... didnt even have time to swim to the shore :(
Moral of the story, stay out of the water and youll be safe .. unless you want to lose a whole night of xp
When you zone in from TT there is a 4 spawn just up ahead in the middle of the shallow lake. These chain aggro, not sure but couldnt get harmony to work on em =p none of these mobs see invis.
There are also 2 single spawns accross the lake on each end. These are easy to get solo. They are stiing around some graphics that look like dead iksars.
Anyway, me 60 chanter, 52 mage 53 dr00d killed one with a bit of difficulty, after tash, they snared and slowed easily, so not overly MR. This one doubled for 257, kicked for 150+ bashed 150+, had a crap load of HP or regen, prolly around hrm 12-15k. Mage chained 3 pets i casted 2.
Overall a basic undercon even for a lvl 55 mob...would prolly make an outstanding pet hasted and perhaps dual wielding. hmm lol
Immune to poison based DoTs. Immune to disease based DoTs. When these would corpse camp, or stay where you last aggroed them (like at a zone line), they could easily solo the guards at the zone to Cabilis.
1) max hit = 257, innate delay appears to ba around 2.0 or even lower
2) not MR, snareable, slowable, mezzable with GoK, charmable with dictate.
3) The *will* dual-wield, make nice pets, too bad dictate is a fixed duration suxor spell. could only get other mob to half health in 30 sec of useful dictate time. May try again after PoP comes out with beckon, would like to see more of thier loot table if there is anything.

SoNH is not a newbie zone. It has a newbie area that expands into a lowbie area, then on to higher mobs. It runs the gamut, but is definitely not a newbie area.
56 Paladin. They hit anywhere from 120 to 228, and consistently for 190+. We had two, not knowing the HS Key mob moved.
I hit LoH, and waited for Ashkar's Succor spell to do it's thing...
Damn thing left me there <shakes a fist at Verant>, and though I received no death message, I was dead, nonetheless.
Just my experiences:
1) They hit hard, and very very fast 2) I don't know who posted about them quadding, but I never saw it. 3) They didn't summon, nor was I stunned via a spell. 4) They do NOT see invis (thank you Ashkar for retrieving my sorry carcas) 5) Did I mention they hit hard? 6) Root, enstill, anything from the stun line of spells, including the Tashani's Clash proc from my Sword of the Morning - wholly resisted.
I don't know why these things exist in a NEWBIE ZONE where the only thing that should con red to a level 42 monk are the guards. Went into Trakanon's Teeth to meet a group hunting Sebilis keys, never saw a thing in the tunnel. On the way back, swimming out, suddenly I get attacked by these things and almost die. FDed, the still keep coming after me every time I get up (anyone remember the good old days when FD could memory wipe 35+ mobs?!) basically had to get a safe distance from them, FD, quit, and log back on to clear agro.
I really want to know why something of this level is even in this zone, unless a VI programmer suddenly had a sadistic streak. It makes no sense. Something it takes a full group of 50's to kill should not be in a zone where previously the highest thing besides the guards was only 30.
It's not really worth the time to get the people together to kill this thing. If you have a group that can do that, why waste it killing this stupid thing when you can go to Sebilis instead? As far as I've heard, the only thing it drops is fairly worthless relative to the difficulty. This thing is just an annoying deathtrap for people who didn't hug the wall going in or out of TT.
There's a mob for the druid epic in SoNH, and one for the beastlord, IIRC. Also a 55 mob for an iksar shaman quest.
SoNH is not a newbie zone. It has a newbie area, but that does not make it a newbie zone.
More than likely, a group that's going to kill these things is in the Swamp for someone's epic, or doing it for the heck of it.
Besides, it is kind of funny that for smug high level players, thinking SoNH is safe for them, there is something there that'll try to make a snack of them.
For the first time in months, I headed back to Kunark after staying mostly in Velious working on my shawl quest. I was heading to COM to meet a bunch of friends and I was coming through SONH omw to TT. Then suddenly, out of the water comes a freaking ugly mob and started beating on me.
I'm so used to passing there without ever encountering anything that I spend 2 seconds trying to figure out what is happening. OMG, time to use LOH, a second and a third were coming for me. Thank god I had Spirit of Eagle on me! Time to run back to FV zone. Even with SOE, some of those critters managed to follow me all the way from TT/SONH zone to the middle of the zone. I was lucky enough to get airborne at some points hence preventing them from hitting me all the time!
Way to go Verant, you have nice ideas sometimes...
