A friend of mine just started his epic...level 55 wizard...I told him to bind at Dargon this way all he had to do was gate to GFay and run into Felwithe...by the time he gated back with the ring he said he saw Arantir and he poofed..not sure of respawn time for Dargon, probably only a few minutes, so don't panic if he isn't there when you get back. Just turn in to the vendor Dargon and he will appear and follow the story line. Good Luck
It seems the respawn is around 10-15 minutes.

Well, it seems to have been fixed. Giving the ring to Dargon WILL work. She will then turn into Arantir. Hail Arantir then say "What story" or "I want to hear your story", read his comments and then respond "What about Sylen Tyrn?", read some more stuff about Phinigel Autropos, then say "What about Demunir Scry?", then read about Venril Sathir, then finally ask "What about the gnome?" or "Who is the gnome?" You will then receive the page, so go see the gnome in Butcherblock.
Bound myself infront of Dargon.
I bouth Ro's Breath.
TP to Tox.
Runned to Erudin.
Gave the Ro's Breath to Camin.
TP back to BPoint.
Hand her the Ro's Breath back.
Arantir pops.
I Hail'd him.
I Received the Ring.
A other Wizard keeped him busy.
I TP then to GFay.
Ran to Felwithe.
Gave Ring to Challice.
She gave me another back.
TP back to BPoint.
Gave Ring to Arantir.
I received the "Note from Arantir".
I tried to be fast as possible.

TrueSpirit faction. Just like the shaman epic faction if I'm correct.
By the way that post below about not giving Dargon the ring is obsolete. Do that now. It works fine. No worries. You can do it all alone, except killing the mobs (and even there, provided enough time and running space...)

Giving the ring to DARGON will result as follows:
1) Dargon, not Arantir, will give the *correct* reply as indicated in the script for the Staff of the Four quest.
2) Arantir will then spawn, but refuse to speak with the giver of the ring. He seems to not have any recollection that the ring-giver just completed the task upon which Arantir sent him.
3) Thus the questor MUST have some person remain in Halas, hailing Arantir to keep him spawned while the questor completes the task of carrying the ring to and from Challice in the paladin guild of Felwithe.
This has cost me considerable funds and preparation efort, as I am a dark elf and KOS to the guards in Halas. The GM was adamant that the ring be given to Arantir, not Dargon. If that is so, then the ring should have been given back to me, according to Verant's correction to the actions of npc's in some recent patch. I am awaiting a reply to my email post to SOE.sony.com now concerning this.

I had the exact same problem last night and lost 1900Plat. I am sending a petition today to see if I can get the ring back. My sense is that
Arantir is broken or they changed the faction requirement. If so it should stop us a lot sooner because he lets you get all the way to the key step and then stiffs you. Not fair Verant!!

Okies i am a Level 56 Wizard and i am in the Process of doing my Epic, I am up to the Bit where you take the Ring to Challice in Felwithe, Done that but when i returned to Ring to Arantir and said "I wish to hear your story" he tells me to go Away has anyone had this Problem and if so how do i get him to talk to me, and have i got to Start the Quest again??? Plz Reply if you know thank you
