This mob is reported as giving faction hits. It displays none when killed.

This mob is now on "newbie monster" faction
Updated, thanks.
This is likely a consequence of the revamps to Freeport. Sadly, a fair number of revamps have not maintained the robust faction tables of early EQ (hence the complaint storm that resulted in the Castle Mistmoore revamp being removed... when really it was just the removal of the factions that was the issue).
I really doubt people were abusing faction gains off the pawns, but it does change the complexion of lowbie faction work on progression servers. For example, evils leveling around Freeport might of found the little boost of leveling off these pawns might make themselves slightly less hated.
I'm sitting in E. FP, a level 40 Iksar Monk, looking for these things because I'm just now getting around to doing the headband and sash quests. I'm running back and forth near the East Commonlands zone where I used to see them ALL THE TIME when I had characters that started in Freeport.
I've been there for roughly an hour. I've seen 4 of them. Only one dropped a scalp which I need 2 of. In the process I have gotten the other 2 components I need for that particular quest, as well as a stack of Bat Wings for my ranger friend.
Again, I reiterate. These things are stupid. Who ever heard of a level 1 uncommon mob.
They didn't mention under the "known loot" that these guys commonly drop pieces of small cloth armor. Now I know all you hotshot high-level players might not think much of this, but that stuff is worth gold and to a low level character being able to get gp that easily is a godsend.
if u kill enough orc pawns u will get a centurian to appear(hence y they all scream centurians save me) and occationally an orc shaman will appear as well. i dont know the sats on them i was killing them with my 16th level twink ogre for faction(they explode into a cloud of fine mist), but after the first 50 or so they will show up regularly. happy huntin. . .
When my druid reached level 9 and I was able to scribe the ignite spell... I quickly found out that a single cast would kill these little turkeys. So I spent a couple hours once doing nothing but cruising the newbie zones in Freeport and blasting deathfist pawn. Payback for the way they treated me when I was a complete newbie, trying to learn the game, and getting frustrated because of the way they kept attacking me. Lousy loot, no exp, but it was fun ;)
Hey,everyone knows that these wusses think that their deaths will bring the Deathfist hordes swarming into Freeport. However, maybe they know sumthin we don't. I actually saw a LEGONNAIRE in the sewers. It didnt live long, needless to say, but nevertheless, could this be the beginning of a massive retaliation for all those orc children that have lost their lives playing in West FP? =) hehe.
When I was a wee lil' Paladin (total newbie, lvl 1), I was attacked by this one and I fled to the guards immediately. Now that I'm 26, I tend to go back to Ecommons or Freeport and take pleasure in slaying these wimps. The best part is when they say: "Centurions attack!" and they start running away from you from low HP =D
They're wimpy, they're agressive, they carry picks. For a necromancer, they're the perfect factioning tool. Their only other real value is the numerous minor quests involving their picks.
