Looked all over zone can't seem to find where it spawns, anybody know?

Ambushed me just south of Hoppers, but north of that little pond, at around pos700, neg1200. Light Blue to 55, dropped from an Ice Comet and a Draught of Fire, so less than 2k HP.
Have killed it twice...both times it dropped the Mark.

where does he spawn? rockhopper cave?

How could this wolf be a Monster and not an animal. That doesn't make much sense to me.
