Went there today just for exp waxing these guys to PL my new Monk lvl 51. Monk can FD easly (FD skill 150), This seems to be the easy way to clear the room.
Was exploring GE with 4 other guildies of varied levels/classes just for kicks and found way to Griegs room. We went to corner on right as you enter and killed the Shadowmaster their np and no adds. Ton of HP and debuffs like mad. Then we went to corner on left. In not too long the whole room was on us and wipe. Heh Pally almost made it to portal but kept getting summoned back to room. Was great fun and a good day to die!!
Seems no agro in corner to right as you enter though. Just a thought to try to pull to there.
Root/Snare/Mezz/Pacify useless here at least at the levels we were. Seems they are immune had 70 chanter in group.
My guild raided GE last night. Although Grieg wasn’t up, we decided to run thru our planned raid procedure. We cleared to Grieg’s room and camped on the stairs just outside his door. These are the three pulling tactics we used to clear the room of numerous Shadow Masters (all were unsuccessful):
1. Bard pulled and Faded in camp. Everyone was invis’d, so we waited until all but one Shadow Master had left. Tank picked. We wiped.
2. Raid moved to North Wall inside Grieg’s room. Ranger attempted to harmony pull nearest mob. Shadow Masters cannot be harmonied. We wiped.
3. Raid moved to East Wall. Everyone was invis’d. Necro pulled with low-level pet to East corner. It seemed we had a single! Raid engaged mob only after packing tightly into East corner. Within a few seconds the entire room agro’d. We wiped.
I (70 ranger), a PLed 70 war, and a PLed 57 shammy were exploring GE and reached the room you were talking about. We began by killing the corner mobs without any trouble (albeit slooow!). When it came time for the rest, it looked like the ones near the pillars were the most likely not to add. Well the close mob to him (at the circular middle) added as I suspected. What i didn't expect was a domino effect of add pulling add. This isn't a pathing problem, or how eq usually acts. This is a specific scripted action, and i'm not sure you will be able to avoid it. Solutions I'd try would include kiting the adds, mezzing, rooting (though i know snare doesn't work), or just good old fashioned tanking with chain heals!
The mobs are slowable, so if you have the slowers you could assign them each on one mob, and have a ranger pull. The ranger WS, and the shammies/encs slow. With low agro from the pull, the slowed mobs should peel off to be off tanked. The remaining mobs too need be slowed, and you go on from there.
I think it's just that their agro and assist range is SO huge, that they domino really easy. Nowadays, whenever a couple of us go in to clear for the hell of it, I use a particular form of pet pulling.
Pet green to mob of course. FD'd right before the door. Send in pet, then pet hold. Once pet is on hold, and walking back, you can stand and go back to the camp spot, far from their huge assist range. But if you do anything to get on his hate list before reaching camp, the nearest friend agros, and chains to others. Pet has to be the only one on agro list until you reach the bottom safe areas.
3 of us going up to smack Grieg around, that's the way we usually do it. Always get singles.

We had an SK snare and FD to pull. Snare rarely stuck and we usually got a bunch at once, they would stand around for a while, then all leave at the same time. Tough pull. At the time I didn't think to try hailing one to get it to stay.
We had two groups of folks from 54 to 65. We could handle 2 Shadow Masters at once.
We pulled to the stairs area and not the port up room. You can get aggro from the 1st floor in the port room.
We eventually got to Grieg. He wiped us. Need bard for resists.
I decided to give the Shadow Masters a go last night, group was me 3-box 65 Rogue Enchanter and Shaman. They conned indifferent to all, so we just we up top and parked in front of them. Cant Pacify, cant Mez, didnt try to root, but I'd guess they cant be rooted, do summon - often. Pulled with bow got both, tashed, failed Turgurs on each one time, landed on both second try without malos. Had to switch off target when enc failed Bliss and started to take a severe beating, so got to play summon ping pong with them for the rest of the fight. Nearly slayed enc, but once I finally got taunt on both and had them slowed, they were cake. But like all Luclin tuffies, high AC and a sh**load of hitpoints. Malos on both later on then shelled them with Insanity and BoS - neither resisted, even partially - oh and they DONT mitigate slow. 1100 dam = 2% on them so figure a solid 50k hps. Rogue is decked in near full ele, 500aa, only had standard 65 shm 65 enc buffs on - so was under 7khps but I nimble disc'd somewhere midfight and was never in danger of dying. Dropped ~ 10pp and nothing else, between the 3 of us got 2%aa exp per kill. Not worth the effort IMO, but a nice change.
have wanted to take him down for a while can run 65 warrior chanter cleric drood shammy have heard of him being takein out by 4 long fight of course but had a necro or sk always so basically i am assuming these guys are unmezzable uncharmable unpaciable if u have experienced otherwise please let me know thanks also how hard they hit slowable ? snareable ? and it is also safe to presume (or maybe not) that greig will not aggro while u are pulling the guards if he is untargetable ?

Would be fun if you actually understood the real reason a shammy always have a jbbp in their backpacks huh? Oh I understand, You didnt know that bramblecoat gave AC to which stacks with anything!
Yeah, 10 percent to alchemy just really pisses me off. Why would I want to be able to make a mana potion on every combine? I mean, my guild would be WAY too strong with a couple of those on the clerics and wizzies (especially those Mana burn wizzies with sunstrike as well)
