The quest using this mob uses the Bronzewood staff drop, among other things, from the Burning Woods named giant Carpentar Grundo I think. The final quest item is one of a couple of items that you can keep or turn back in to the final NPC for another item. The blade is offered first I think.

He's for the spirit of garzicor quest, which results in a VERY good earring, VERY good hybrid 2hs, or some other yonder good item_02

He only has the sword through him "Sometimes" Other times it's a Cell-phone or a Banana.
