I don't know from experience, but Czaemon stated, on the Hive Fiend's Brain page:
The hive fiend drops in the ring type events that are triggered by killing the swarmcaller. At least one will spawn on the fourth wave, possibly more, in my experience he always has the brain.

I found this guy fairly close to the ME zone. I'm pretty sure he roams. I was just glad i didnt have to go into the caves to find him.
I dropped him with my 61 warrior and 63 cleric without any problem at all. It resisted my warrior's trudgeon of doom's slow about half the time. Fire and cold procs were landing just fine.
He sees invis and runs.

lol, that boy is gettin in on! I'd think he'd be kinda clumsy with those big feet but he's gettin his groove on!

Does in fact drop this bp, our cleric won it last night. Blackened chitin tunic. Believe it was useable by all but pure casters,i know the shammy and drood rolled on it :)
