Blackwing  

I went to Rathe Mountains as a 47 bard to take out this Blackwing for my epic. I killed every mob around the hill for an hour and he never showed. I just got so bored that I kited 'ol Zazamoukh in hopes of spawning him (I actually lived to my suprise), but no luck. He never showed up at the listed point and I never saw him on track...

Not to be redundant, but I also found this beastie to be an easy kill. I took out a few Drakes (Ebon, Obsidian etc.) and Basilisks and Blackwing spawned after 15 minutes at (best I can tell as he was in the distance) -1439.22, -1869.84 right near a sort of black patch on the ground.

These posts are great! I guess Blackwing is very weak, but where is hye near? (hill/cyclops hill, scarab monument, Lake Rathtear zone, etc.)I dont like to loc =D





40 bard trying to get the Singing Short Sword

Took him down easily at lvl 47 without even taking any damage. Just killed all the drakes and basilisks around the hill marked 20 on EQAtlas until he spawned. I'd recommend not twisting selo's or using sow, or else you'll outrun him. I used flame, ice, and disease chants and took him down with ease. Didn't bother meleeing him until he started fleeing, but judging by how fast his hps went down, It would seem quite plausible just to duke it out with Blackwing.

I was just wandering by and decided to kill him, he conned white to my 35 necro, all my DoTs landed and invoke fear worked just fine, got my pet down to like maybe half. What a weakling for a white mob.

Just killed him today. He is now spwaning at Neg 1464 Pos 1604.
All other info on him is correct. Matter of fact, once he spawned the first time he showed exactly 1 min 20 sec afterward. :)
Total time in zone, 15 min. Take care.

I (42 Bard) just soloed him... Chant (Flame and Fefuls + Selos) kited him then went in for the Kill took like 3 min no damage to me. I killed all the drakes and a couple of Balisks before he popped. Total time in zone about 20 minutes.
Dropped Guts and 2 Silver woot.

Yesterday night I went for Blackwing. We were supposed to be 4 but we ended up being 10 :-P
When we arrived at the spot, (Neg 1700, Neg 15), a part of the team stayed at that loc to kill whatever was spawning, and the rest of us were looking for the PH of that spawn, killing everything around.

From the moment something spawns at Neg 1700, Neg 15... You dont need to kill everything anymore, just kill that spawn. Thats what we did, we had an amazing luck sorta... After 15 minutes of killing everything nearby and the PH, Blackwing spawned, he lasted about 2 seconds. the spawn rate of PH and Blackwing at the spot is 1 min and 20 secs exactly. Every 1 min 20 secs something spawns, either Blackwing or a drake/basilick.

When I said incredible luck I meant it! :-) After we killed Blackwing (the 15th minute after we arrived), 1 min20sec later, ANOTHER Blackwing spawned, then 1min 20sec later, ANOTHER BLACKWING spawned, 2 min 40 sec later, ANOTHER FREAKN BLACKWING!!! 2 Onyx drake guts decayed. I looted one, and a friend's bard friend came by to loot one. We stayed for another hour, we had nothing to do lol, we didn't see any other Blackwing that night. We didn't see Rharzar neither.

So... I can't tell much about Blackwing's firepower... He's not that strong anyways. But I can tell you that the spawning is really weird lol... Its NOT 2 hours... It's NOT regular... It's just it =) Have an hour and a half in front of you... Kill everything I mentioned in my last post (drakes and basalisks... His PHs include basilisk, Onyx drakes, Ebon drakes, Obdisian Drake, and Basalt Drake). And Blackwing drops Onyz Drake guts every time.

I'm Woogy Lightstep, 51 Minstrel on Veeshan Server... Gonna slay this drake for my epic soon. I'll post info I got on him later... yet I got this:

Blackwing in Rathe Mountains will spawn after clearing out the drakes in that area. It is the south-western part of the zone, and will spawn out of the loc (neg 1700, neg 15). Keep killing everything that spawn at this loc, including drakes and basalisks, and you will get Blackwing within an hour or so. His PHs include basilisk, Onyx drakes, Ebon drakes, Obdisian Drake, and Basalt Drake.

Be very careful of the named drakes in this area. Zazamouhk, an evil enchanter sphinx and her pet are up on the hill but don't seem to move around much. She is around level 40, maybe lower. If you are agnostic and wear your Dark-elf illusion, you can go right up to her. Rharzar, however, is a level 55 green drake. Every bard I talked to that has camped Blackwing has been killed by Rharzar, including myself, he hit me so fast I couldn't even run one step. If you have him on tracking and are alone, do your best to avoid him, or come back another day. He is for the SK epic, so convince an SK in your guild to join you and bring a few groups down to kill Rharzar. Rhazar is a level 55 Green drake nuking for 640 and quad hitting for 240.

Stay at the spawn spot mentioned above and you should be fine. At level 47, I discovered that I could melee these drakes and Blackwing easily.
