TopazI am a level 15 mage.One day some idiot pulled back three spectres to the docks.Luckly,a bunch of high levels were at docks,too.They obviosly killed them(duh) ,and i stayed for some loot,i got an opal and a globe of fear.I have a very,very good necro friend and i want to pay him back.Down below,there's a post saying its a necro quest.Can anyone PLEASE give me some info on the quest?(Where i can get all the info on the quest.What the reward is.What level)Thank you SO much for your help.

In Low Level Zones:
Warrior.
Spectres hit for a maximum of 96, and tend to attack rather quickly. They move somewhat slowly, and can be outrun even without speed-enhancing spells.
They have relatively few hp for their level, which is offset by their high damage output. Their two special attacks of a stun spell and a lifetap spell also help their damage output.

Right outside of the cave to the fear plane there is a single spec by a tree. This is a GREAT spot for necros. I went from 37 to 40 in no time flat. I just pulled with a darkness, sick pet, and panic dead. Then nuke the ******* till it dies. You should still have 2-3 bubs of mana at the end of the fight and it's on a 5 min spawn time so you don't even have to call of bones to get it back. They drop around 3pp and rusty, bronze, and regular scythes. I just gave the rusty to my pet. The bronze sell for about 3pp and the regular for 10pp. This is a perfect spot for gaining xp and cash with little risk.

Yes , it is a very nice spawn to pull from. Did part of level 39 off him and still stop and get a little XP everynow and again at 40. Root, DD, DD, DD, DD, Root, DD, DD, DD, DD, Hack and slash dead spec....25% mana left and 80% health...med to full and ready to go in 5 minutes. Still get about 1/8 to 1/4 a blue off him at 40 per kill which is nice and relaxing easy cash and gems to sell.

My lvl 44 Cleric has had great success there with this combo:
Enstill/Banish Undead
Enstill gets resisted every 4 or so spawns, but I usually get them on the second try. then 3 hits of Banish for 585 dmg drops them like a rock.
Lately, I've seen the Enstill stay through at least 2 (or sometimes all 3) hits of Banish.
For those that are thinking of Enstilling and just letting Turning of the Unnatural do the job-forget it! It wears off after knocking only 1/4 of the specs hp.

Just a note to those who wish to hunt them THEY SEE THROUGH ALL INVIS SPELL! So dont think your cool and cast invis vs undead and try to hug one or they hug you with there scythe :)

I hae been huntin specs in Marr for the past 2 nights and invis Vs. undead has saved my butt more than once. If you tired casting in on yourself while you were on their hate list then of couse its not going to work. An orc pawn can see though invis if you are on his hate list when you cast it. I use invis to undead and sit on the island to med while my group gets ready for me to pull. I am only level 29 pally and these things are CHERRY red to me. But with a good group such as the one I have established these things are cake. We have only had 1 close call in the past 2 days and that is bacause some n00b such as yourself decided to go out to the island and pulled three others that decided to roam and find us as we were killing one. So i would suggest that you shut the heck up unless you know what you are talking about. Oh and one more thing... does mommy know you took her credit card to play this game????

I posted the origanal one i should of said that i meant ferrot. Now Although I don't like when people call me a n00b even though i had 3 60 char all with epic when i posted it, and i woun't lose any sleep over it at all. Saying that i took my mommy's credit card tells we that your like 14 to 18 and not very popular, but I pay MY bills in MY house with MY job so you just step off cause I could waste you in a duel with anyone of my characters. The Feerott specs DO see through invis to undead... the Oasis ones obviously don't.... maybe they just stay the hell away from you though =P nasty

In all the time I've been in oasis I've never been killed by a spectre.. I've had them group up on me and start hackin away/fearin/root.. though as a lvl 15-18 iksar monk there not a prob.. I always hop on em at the dock and lurer them away to nro zone. Overall ethier I just stay outta their range or they just arent THAT tough in Oasis.

I think the spectre lifetap is around 50...Tserrina's staff has that as a proc, and it does about that much damage...also, isn't one of their RARE drops a 'Box of nil-space'?

unfortunatley the box of nil space no longer drops. i guess VI didn't want 100% weight reduction containers dropping off anything under level 50 or so.

these things are wussies...one comes up to me..boom spook undead and they're so slow its like they're already snared for you to fear kite em..i just run right behind em kickin their *** and they can't even hit em...first time i ever fought one in a serious fight was other night goin through feerott..he came at me conned blue and i'm like hmm i'll give this a try so i'm fighting him and he pisses me off with his 70 dmg every second so i just fear him and then kick his ***..oh yeah but stupid ogre bouncer came at me so i zoned cause i didn't feel like gettin in a huge fight...when i zoned back i used sense undead to fight him and then finished him off...should have feared him right away since i was soloing...i will next time and i bet i won't even break a sweat hahah...43 paladin by the way

I had just gotton to Oasis at lvl 10 (going to Oasis was a sugetion from a lvl 60 necro i knew) and looking for a mob that came up black or blue on my when I saw a tower on an island. Of course I HAD to check it out when a spectre came up to me and killed me immeadiatly. On my CR from Freeport I had a nice meeting with the sand giant. On my 2nd CR I got my corpse but a spectre spotted my. I ran until i saw some people. When i saw there names it read "Dervish Cutthroat" luckily I had enough time to gate back to Freeport and all turned out fine!

lol very nicely told stories, in Oasis these things can happen a lot if your not fast or too low a level to get out of trouoble. Stick to Nro until lvl 15.

Are the specs in the catacombs on the Qeynos Necro faction?

The specs down there guard the evil guilds so If you arent evil they will KOS you.
If you haven't done anything to irritate the Bloodsabers, Iksar start off at Dubious to their entire guild headquarters in the Qeynos Catacombs. This means you CAN bank (with Banker Javen, who looks like a Beggar), but Merchants won't deal with you. (If you are an Iksar Monk, you can shop by using Sneak). You can get the Bloodsabers to like you more by slaughtering the (quite weak) Qeynos Guards in the Catacombs.

It really doesnt matter where to sit to med or congregate at all. As soon as its figured out where the new so-called safe med area is peeps will just start training to there.

Not a bug folks, in fact there isn't A spectre in qeynos aquaducts, there are a BUNCH of spectres in Qeynos Aquaducts lol. All the necro trainers have spectre pets and as of a couple months ago the place in the hallway on the way towards the necro changed, there used to be 4 skesl in these little cubbies along the wall, now those skels are spectres. They roam the halls behind the false wall down there too!. Don't go down there unless you are evil or have good Plaguebringers faction! They don't mind my Erudite necro, been indifferent down there since level 8 when I arrived off the boat from Odus..

The highest level necro pets (Emissary of Thule and one other, I believe) do have the spector graphic. Combine that with demi lich and you can have a spectre necro running around with a spectre pet.

I was sitting in Oasis near the docks with my 13 gnome rogue while my casters were medding and the tank was killing things for fun. I'm looking north at the water and a big dune when I see all of my group mates boogey on by me. I hear this god awful noise so I turn around quickly, very quickly, and why hello, there are two specs looking at me and thinking "Well hell, I like the taste of rogues. Kinda taste like chicken." Which I became at that instant as I took off for N Ro clucking the whole way. I go three steps and get smacked with lifetap, which is when I finally see my group mates saying "RUN!!!" (thanks guys, no, really, I mean it) As I ran I came across a lost newbie, who was fighting the flood of PC's making their exodus out of the Oasis, who unfortunately was headed the wrong way (that is, towards the specs). Everyone was so busy running, no one told him to run too, and I had two specs chasing me down, so I wasn't the man to help him. When he finally began to run it was much too late, as I had good distance between myself and the cloaked baddies, but alas, he did not. He was vapor before I could yell to him to run. The morals are: you don't have to be fastest, you just can't be last, and sometimes its a good thing to follow the crowd.

Im a level 24 warrior and tanking one of these is tuff!!Why?Well it was going around killing everyone at the docks and happened to attack the nice little Cleric (lvl19) healing me at that time.Having 900hp i decided to get it help her out.Wham! My Hp goes down bit by bit but i give it all ive got ( Jagged Longsword 16 30 ) and i notice its Hp going down at a steady rate. I shout for help while the nice little Cleric continues to heal me. Then a few mid 20 character start to melee it and down it goes.So it proves that there is strength in numbers (6 hehe).
