The first 2 times were no problem, he didnt summon and did nothing else disgusting.

The 3rd fight was different. He summoned all 10 secs and at the did something like Enrage but without a message. I tanked him and the last long 5 secs i got around 3k damage. No hit landed everything seemed to get reposted. Lucky me he fell.

Drops Were 2x Boots and 1x Mace

Edit: Group was SK51, WAR50, RNG54, CLR50, SHM49

Good luck, he seems to be up more often than the Overseer

Idea for taking him down
# Oct 21 2002 at 6:05 PM Rating: Good
Seeing how this guy is a cleric I'm guessing he'll have all the buffs any level 40 cleric would have (Guard and Bravery) and possibly symbol. More than likely has had haste and a couple of other buffs as well.

Would it be worth trying to pull him with cancel/nullify/annul magic to strip these buffs followed with healthy doses of stuns and other debuffs?

Just random thoughts here. I'll give it a shot and tell you what I found.

He IS in Grimiling Forest, towards the back of the Grimling cave (in the cave...left at the first Tee intersection, straight at the second tee, right at the crossroads...pretty sure of directions).

He IS WAY underconned.

Slap a slow on him and he is much easier (about what he should be conned at).

He does have a PH.

Nothing sees invis in the cave.

He can be pulled to the crossroads where only 1 or 2 wandering Grim foremen path (take them out first).

He is a priest-type caster and will summon every 10 seconds or so.

He hits FAST and HARD without a slow.

That cover it?

When looking up equipment, the Scepter is listed as obtainable at lvl 52, the Headdress at lvl 44. Off of the same mob...which from what I can see will wipe out a full group if it averages under 50. Gonna see if I can get that altered heh.

Oh yeah, and he dropped his skull for the pimp range item, and dropped some caster boots, like 9ac 5% to channeling 3wis 3agi 3sta or something like that. Warrior managed to disarm a no drop claw that I picked up off the ground (no drop eh?) it was 10/35 or something really crappy like that.

Facts -

- Was level 40 the time we killed him
- Is a cleric
- Casts judgement (800dmg dd, magic based)
- Has a good chunk of hp, probably around 8k
- Will do other cleric stuff, cheal, etc
- Hits for 190
- Is hasted by other mobs in the room, he still hits *very* fast even with 52 shaman slow
- Crappy Resists
- We took him down with 60cleric, 49sk, 52shaman, 60 ogre warrior in full warlords with aego up still required 1 cheal even with this looser slowed.

--

And food for thought, I tried this guy with just my shaman (52) and my sk (49) and I managed to get him down to only about 80% of his health, after both chars mana completely exhausted and the sk with only 1 bub of health left.

He is an U-N-D-E-R-C-O-N
rename

We took this guy out with a group of 5 45 and 51 druid, 54 warrior, 50 rogue, 49 chanter.

He was in the grimling caves on the end of one of the cul de sacs. He was much easier than the sorceress.

We got a no drop caster item, which went to our chnater. I have no specifics..sorry.

These named mobs are way under conned. They are all around 44 or so and play like their mid 50's. I have seen this guy on track every time I've been in the caves.

What zone were you in when you killed him.
From the sounds of your post you were in TM(Tenebrous Mountains).
As far as I know their are no Grimling Caves in Grimmling Forest.
Or were you refering to the Acrylia Caverns.
I am looking for this guy and am curious to his spawn point.
So I am looking for clarification.
Thanks muchly.

the "caves", stone rooms with rocks in them, the series of which connect the Grimling Forest zone to the entrance to the Arcylia Caverns.

Some Info
# Jan 16 2002 at 4:57 PM Rating: Decent
All the named mobs for the Hero quest are not stunnable.

This guy dropped a 25/50 nodrop 2hander
a no drop ring (caster stats)
his scalp (for the quest)

As a 60 rogue I got lucky and assassinated him.
