Did the caller cycle recently with a guildie friend. Documented the camp. We got lucky with the drop. When I went back later to help some other guild bards, it took a lot longer. It was easy to get overrun with mobs and they have a nasty snare too. The old strategy of tagging aggro on the caller and running away, does NOT work anymore. We tested it. You have to do the caller cycle legitimate now. Video Link https://youtu.be/vaTauSmkpQ4

Confirmed. Furthermore, the multiple keg trick no longer works.

Got my bard invis cloak last night on my second kill of Katcha. The key here is that the event will spawn mobs indefinitely, so long as Caller Murkin stays alive. And you can adjust the spawn rate and quantity by how many items of what type you give Caller Murkin at the beginning. Kegs are the fastest spawn rate. For a 71 Bard in defiant gear with a tank merc, I could keep up with the spawns generated by giving Murkin 2 kegs. With a 71 Bard, 71 Mage, Cleric Merc and Tank merc, I could keep up with the max possible rate, by giving Murkin 4 kegs.

You turn in the kegs to Murkin at his spawn point, then follow him until he stops in the north tunnel. Stand on top of Murkin and wait for the mobs. The tank merc is able to keep agro on all the mobs if you set him to main tank role, set yourself to main assist, and have puller off. For this technique, you make sure not to agro Murkin by hitting him with melee or AE's. Murkin will fight with you, but his help is not needed. Stand by Murkin so your tank merc keeps returning to that spot to grab agro on mobs that might agro on Murkin and kill him, which would stop the event.

Took about 2 hours at this camp to get my cloak, but would have been faster if I started with 4 kegs and 2 chars + 2 mercs. Katcha seems to be a random uncommon named spawn in the waves of mobs. Good luck on your cloaks, fellow bards!

going to have echo this: give murkin (that's who i did, could do the others, from what I hear) 4 kegs. 4 murkins will pup and lead the way simultaneously. tons of mobs will spawn. if you're careful about not hitting the murkins, all 4 should last until you get the cloak. Katcha spawned once and dropped the cloak first time within 4 waves (which I guess is actually 16 waves, due to this glitch). was in and out in 15 minutes! X)

Not obsolete at all.

The invis cloak is most definitely not obsolete. This saves having to have invis memmed in many circumstances. Fade doesn't last across zones, this does. Fade loses aggro so is no use if you need to tag and drag a mob through a zone. Definitely still a tool that most bards will want in their bag (well, if they like to avoid having to stock up on invis potions :))

Obselete
# Aug 14 2008 at 9:53 AM Rating: Decent
This item is obselete with fade and current gear. Even after a rez and looting my body, i have enough mana for 1 fade... and fade is instant, unlike this 1.5 second cast...

Using Caller Murkin, turn in 2 Huge Kegs of Blargot, for fast spawnrate (2min). 2x Caller Murkin spawns will repop (he will later become a single spawn again, but summon twice the number of mobs). Follow Murkin to the call area. He will depop/repop again in the far North tunnel. After repop, agro him-- he is now perma-rooted. Make sure you let him depop/repop at his call point. Agroing before he is perma-rooted will cause him to chase you down :)

Agroing him will stop him from attacking the fungoids. They wont agro him unless he attacks them first. Long as he has you on his hate list, he wont attack, unless you wander too far (ie: going back to the cave-town). Stay invis, and let the calling begin. Expect 4 mobs or so per wave. Every 5 "calls", he will take a break for 4-5 minutes, then resume.

Read a book, surf the web, whatever. Re-check the spawns every 10 minutes or so. Kill Katcha when he pops. Doesn't seem to be incredibly rare drop. Waiting for him to spawn can take some patience though (took me ~1.5hrs per Katcha spawn).

**I killed Katcha by rooting him at camp, then training the others to the cave town. I ensured to agro every single Caveman i was able to. After train was dead, Caller Murkin was already owned, as i ran out of Agro range, and he attacked some of the fungoids. Katcha stays up, along with a few friends. Beat them all down ftw.

killed him about 10 times now with no cloak, beginning to wonder if it still drops.. however, as a 65 bard, this is very easy, I just melee them in the face.. use bellow or mez if they try to gate.. works fine~

The Events and the mobs in it are completely soloable by a bard. 100%. Ervaj's Lost Composition for the caster named. (Always have PoV up)

For the rest of the mobs, you wont even have to fight em

Seems to be the most common named mob spawn. Currently 3/3 for Tiny Cloak. It Complete Heals, buffs, gates, nukes, etc. Very nasty mob, a ton of hp.
Info
# Apr 28 2003 at 12:59 PM Rating: Decent
Spawns as part of the Caller quests, totally random. He is a cleric mob, approx level 50. He will cheal and nuke, but does not gate. Also drops:

Tarmok Tribal Headband - 12ac 20svd 20svp all/all.

Nice piece of resist gear.
USEFULL info
# Apr 17 2003 at 7:18 PM Rating: Decent
where does he spawn? how hard does he hit? does he summon? does he cast? slowable? how are ressist? what is respawn? how is agro when pull? why is evryone ******** or talking about cloak, if this mob is easy as he look, then this cloak is the bomb since it's ammo slot.. any info on the mob would be usefull, 58 bard want to know my chance to solo this thing
RE: USEFULL info
# Apr 27 2004 at 6:28 AM Rating: Decent
12 More questions and you two could go out on a date. Read the Calling Beasties quest description, in my experience I was 57 Bard grouped with 65 ranger, who resisted 4 of 5 nukes. Rooted and shot arrows at him while I sang Dex/proc song and twisted DoTs. Did not C-Heal. Dropped Tiny Cloak.
ARGH!!!
# Apr 14 2003 at 11:10 PM Rating: Excellent
killed this one the other morning... dropped the Tiny Cloak of Darkest Night and of course I can't use it.. I would love to use this to get in and out of places I am KOS...

Well, it rotted away... so I killed more.. but didn't see another drop all morning.

One thing about hunting in Stormhammer.. I have complete ownership of this zone.. spent 3 hours here.. all alone.. me and my shammy..

updated cloak
# Apr 27 2002 at 10:03 AM Rating: Good
Cloak is now Bard, Rogue only. All races. Has a 1.0 second cast time on the item description and is self-only. This named is part of the caller quest in FG where you get waves and waves of mobs. 2 group doable for 50 to 55 level range. 1 group doable for the high end if very good. May have some deaths till you get the hang of the quests and whats going to happen.
Question...
# Mar 16 2002 at 2:55 AM Rating: Decent
I'm just curious, I have a 55 rogue, 56 druid, and 53 wizard on Druzzil Ro. How hard exactly is this guy? Like uber? Or like a 45+ group taker? This may be a pitaful question, but I've never been to Luclin, I only bought it for the graphics. Anyway, please hit me up with an answer, thanks alot :)

Your buddy, Budlizard.
Help!! :)
# Feb 21 2002 at 8:54 PM Rating: Default
Hello Norrathians, Just curious to all of you that have killed this dude as to how hard he is. I really want this thing(Cloak), being a rogue and all lol. Me and some friends were thinking about fetching one fer me, ya think a 52paladin, 49shaman, 40 rogue, 40 ranger, and a 40-some-odd cleric(Not sure whut lvl she is atm havntbeen on fer a while) could take this MOB? Plz reply if ya got anything that might be helpful.

#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 07 2002 at 3:51 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, If you actually look at the cloak item you will see its Rogue only. 2sec cast time, 2min invis. Can only be used if its equiped. Sorry guys.
RE: Zior
# Apr 06 2003 at 3:34 PM Rating: Default
It is also BARD usable and according to the post on the item is a 1.5 cast time. Do not go by the spell info as that is always as if cast as spell by caster. Items almost always differ in cast time, usually longer then the regular spell/song cast time.
RE: Zior
# Feb 27 2002 at 2:06 AM Rating: Decent
ermm I can't find the 2sec casting time anywhere. The spell info reads Instant cast, 0 recast time.
that would make this invis-on-the-run I think?
and THAT, my esteemed colleagues, would be quite something.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 31 2002 at 1:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Can anyone tell me witch part of the zone this creature spawns in, I have a warrior who needs this invis to get from place to place. I really cant travel without grouping. Be most appreciated thank you.
RE: Where cloak drop?
# Mar 20 2002 at 9:23 AM Rating: Decent
Since the information presented here on this item
has been updated since you saw it (I assume that's the case, anyway) and is now known to be rogue only (or maybe bard too, can someone who has confirm please?) looks like your warrior will have to rely on Cobalt armor, or if you can't get that yet, invisibility potions. Or just caution.
