pulling him to zone
# May 18 2002 at 12:21 PM Rating: Decent
How do you pull this guy to zone. Tried for over 2hours to get him but golems kept popping. Tried pullin all of the mobs and him and FD then pull him when the rest went back... rez....rinse...repeat heh. Ive seen guilds do him in his area, but the screenshot above shows him at the zone line. Had 30 lvl 55+ there to kill him but couldn't get him single. Maybe were just nuts or plain sux :) Any info would be appreciated. CoTH or pally DA, hell i dunno. Thanx

What is the point of a post like this? Do you expect someone to start a new char on a new server, and wait and hope to find you online so they can get this info? If it's so easy, post it here for everyone to read.

Tried this guy last night for the first time ever. We had about 27 people for him about 6 of which were clerics. We set up our CH rotation and got him pulled, CH rotation started..Bang i got summoned and killed. Ok i started the rotation too early. (I am top cleric in my guild, it is my job to time CH rotations) We rez up rebuff and try again, Pull him start CH rotation...Bank MT down. Apparently that time i was too slow to start CH rotation. Mind you my guild has killed Vindi and Velketor both of which i always start CH rotation on. I couldn't beleive i was having this much trouble timing our CH rotation, btw this is the first time this has ever happened, I am usually quite good at this.

Well we did manage to switch tanks a few times and even got him to about 50% life on our last try. But he had killed off too many of our damage dealers and healers befor we got him landed on what i htink was our 3rd tank and got him CH'd.

We had very little trouble geting him slowed with 60 Shammy Chanter Bard combo on debuffs. And once he was slowed we is quite killable. He Rampages a LOT so make sure your cleics back up and good luck on your timing.

He hits around the mid to high 700s fairly fast with about 200-300k hp. We had about 7 melee on him by the time he was slowed and what clerics were left healing and got him to below 50% life on our last try. Slow is your friend on this guy.

Hope this info helps others...I'll figure something out and we will get him next time.

It's always good to have a couple paladin's and make the first to heals LOH (LOH is 0 agro), this gives MA time to build agro.
RE: RumbleCrush Vs Derakor the Vindicator
# Jul 26 2002 at 3:30 PM Rating: Default
LoH = 0 Agro? Are you on GLUE? When I LoH the MA, He/she better well have done over 2000 dmg or, quite frankly, I'm getting agro and only a hard nuking wizard is gonna pull it from me (and heaven help the wizard). I've used LoH to AoE agro and save my entire group. Yes, I died but they were able to get away.

Bist du Deutsch?
# May 18 2002 at 2:46 PM Rating: Default
I would assume not... Nor know much of anything of the language.

Ok dude, uber is a German word. They use the word "uber" like we use "above" or "over"

"Deutschland uber alles"

Translates into:

"Germany over all"

In EQ, it is used as if it were "above" or "over" too. A guild that can obtain Primal weapons for all of the guild's members? Uber. Above what normal guilds are capable of.

And I don't need to state that the new definition given to "flame" has been in existance to pre-EQ. In fact, EQ is just one big visual chatroom game... People have been in chatrooms prior to EQ you know... *shrugs*

Since you didn't know, I thought perhaps I should point it out fer j00

kk? dieplzthx

Actually Uber is not a Germam Word. Ask any German what it means and they wont know what you are talking about.

The german word is "über". Since Umlauts are unknown to the english it is transformed to "uber".

Actually, I am a good portion German and lived in Germany for 2 years. Uber is a German word, it means, above and over as stated above, it is also synonymous with "Super" as in Super Man, ala Uber Man or very powerful, thus the phrase uber guild is perfectly acceptable as used.

#Anonymous, Posted: May 01 2002 at 3:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) There is nothing wrong with doing things because you want to get something out of it. The problem is people cant see what they are getting. This guy doesn't drop melee gear, boo-hoo. Do you want some help from casters while you go off to get your epic. Or maybe you want to raid veeshan's peek, or the temple of Veeshan, or the planes, or almost any other high level zone in the game. Have fun soloing. I'll help someone else get their gear, they've saved my butt more times than I care to count.

I was almost going to post how stipud so many of you sound when you say crap like " this mobs got nothing for me why should i go help" but then after I thought about it for a minute I realized theres nothing freakin new about this attitude , as it is shared by 75% or better of the lamers that play EQ,

This "whats in it for me" attitude just goes to show you what piece of sh*t so many are here. Actually the funny thing seems to be that half of those **** that have that attitude dont even realize how retarded they are it is just second nature to them. That is what is most sickening to me, didnt you morons learn anything in kindergarten? Like share, boy girl boy girl, nap time???

Ask not we every one can do for your stupid ***** but what you can do for everyone else ! ! !

Good post, I agree with what you had to say. Why do people always have to get something out of everything or they say "God that's stupid to do that." Don't they realize if you help your guild, or just other people in general, it's going to come back to help you. Plus if you help others become more powerful they can really do more to help you, so everyone wins in that situation.

Excellent posts, I have played EQ going on 2 years and find that the best guilds or more specifically the best people that make up a guild have the attitude of helping others. Those are the one's I enjoy, that ask their guildmates or even others not in the guild, who may be camping something, how they might be able to help. Sometimes it is buffs or other times just a person to sit and talk to for an hour, while camping something. I am more impressed with top end level characters, who actually are willing to take time out to help. The thrill of fighting tough mobs, where you can make a difference leaves better memories of you and the guild you represent that all the "gear" you are wearing, or the fancy guild name you wear, or the ultimate raids you do daily.
Been on both ends of this as a low level person where I was helped and now I have learned from it at the high end to take time out and help either those who need a little support or maybe join several groups just to say you helped them take that nasty mob down.
IMHO,

I tend to be a judgemental person by nature but I try not to be because I think it's a bad way to be. I tend to agree with this post but how many times have I been in that situation where something great was just within my grasp? It's tough sometimes to not be greedy when you may never have a chance again. Then there's the other hand, I LOVE the thrill of fighting tough mobs. I guess where I'm going with is this: If more players fought mobs, high or low, for the excitement and challenge and not so much the loot that they drop, then Norrath and Luclin would be better places.

RE: Caster Mob?
# Mar 27 2002 at 4:54 AM Rating: Default
There isn't a lot of incentive for casters (healers, hasters, slowers, snarers, mezzers etc.) to help warriors get their epic mobs too. Once you get tired of soloing, you'll see the point....
RE: Caster Mob?
# Jul 14 2002 at 2:54 AM Rating: Default
How bout this for incentive to help Melee characters with their epics: Try doing your Caster epic without the help of Melee characters and see how far you get... Help them with theirs and they will be alot more likely to help you with yours!

#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 25 2002 at 3:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The insentive is so the casters will come help you on the mob when it only drops melee gear.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 24 2002 at 3:46 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This guy doesn't drop a single thing that would go to a rogue on an NBG loot system. WTF!! course you look at the loot dropped by kunark dragons and such, that is typical.

#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 21 2002 at 6:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Fo REAL man. Yea, please DO keep bashing rangers. I have a lvl 15 ranger. And boy do I hate it. The spells, kick *** attacks, disgusting long range, and the kicking between my melee fury. I cant stand how boring it is.

Because being my CLERIC is my main. I have ONE simple thing to say about it. Even if rangers WERE the WORST in the game, like TERRIBLE. as far as a PLAYER stand point they are way, WAY, W A Y, more FUN then a boring @$$ Cleric.

Rangers are versitile. Its the same problem with EVERY game. Fine, they dont do damage like this class, they dont take damage likr THIS class. but VERSITILE. and only someone with a good mind, and also a versitile personality can play one.

They are a weird mix of delicate, and deadly. Its very hard to explain. BUT if we keep this up, we will never over populate with Rangers.... unlike the poor druid class... how sad.

And on a side note as a cleric I heal a LOT of rangers AND monks. They both are kinda bad about taking damage, but when im in it THICK, I want BOTH by my side.

They can share my dwarven ale anytime, well, they can buy their own and sit next to me... anyways (grumble)

PS if thats your attitude towards rangers, SURPRISE! we dont WANT you to make one... only to be humbled young one.

FI you're a dwarven cleric of brell (I think thats the only god they can worship, but not sure) do your second symbol quest, and you'll never have to ask your drinking buddies to buy their own again. It summons brell blesses brew, a pretty powerful drink. Plus has decent ac and some wisdom on it. :)

It's a somewhat tuff question. I've killed both Vindicator and Rumblecrush a number of times, and from a cleric's standpoint, Rumblecrush is probably a bit easier. Against the Vindicator you need a complete healing order. Against Rumblecrush you can have 1 cleric keep casting CH on the main tank as fast as he can until that cleric is low mana. Then second cleric steps in and does same thing. This works pretty well, and is easier than chain healing. On the other hand...Rumblecrush Dropped me in 2 rampages, vindicator took a lot more.

You guys are getting a little carried away with the ranger bashin'. Rangers do some of the best damage in the game. Spells combined with that damage, they can peel a mob off a caster in no time flat. Simply put, rangers were not meant to take the brunt of the damage. They were meant to dish it out with a good tank beside them taunting and taking the hits.
