I just spent 1.5 hours killing mob after mob as they spawned from the entrance to PC from Hollow Shademoore. Anyway I killed from the zone in to the first big room where the Pharlag things start and finally 3 popped at once, the first one was at the tunnel entance at the top of the ramp... and second was the 3rd mob in from there. The last one spawned as the next to last mob before reaching the Pharlag room. Good luck to you

go in the Hollowshade Moor entrance to Palludal.

You will have to take out the muck diggers and mud burrowers. Then one shows up.

I got trained. Should have stopped by here before attacking one.

Just an FYI: Unlike the other bugs in this zone; this guy'll run if he gets low on hp... Will aggro others he comes close to...

Glowing Heart Stone
# May 12 2002 at 11:02 PM Rating: Default
The Glowing Heart Stone makes a superior light source (better than Chitterling Wing) and pops handily into my range slot (haven't picked up any cheap & useful stuff to throw). However, the price to pay in the form of -5 vs disease and magic is rather steep. I got my first one for the quest and then snagged another for the exp and the illumination. I'll destroy it as soon as I begin to melee casters again. Oh, and I think it's Vah Shir only.
In case you're as lame as I am with the grid locations, I found the little bugger just after zoning in from Hollowshade. The tunnel turns left, then right, then immediately necks down a bit just before some debris. On either side of the neck stands a mudbug of one flavor or another (unless I just killed 'em!) and then there'll be a bug on either side of the debris. The glowbug is either the one on the left or will be after you kill it's placeholder(s). Clear as mud? Just kill all the bugs in the tunnel between the zone and the first room you come to. I only saw 5 of em altogether.

After reading the link from Ras's post below I can see how somebody could get ah ... dead, so here's a tip. Don't pull the bugs guarding the neck. The path npc's (and my warder) take in here makes them go to the center of the tunnel. This brings the aggro'ed bug within the dogpile-on-the-rabbit range of the one on the other side of the neck and now you get two. So just kill the little critter right where he stands--er squats--whatever. After you kill the two standing guard, then go ahead and pull the glowbug as close to the zone as you can so you can beat the bejeesus out of him when he bugs out. So to speak. Do enough to his retreating bugbottom and he'll never get close enough for one of his bugbuds to join the fray. If you do get in trouble the zone's right there so there's really no reason to get all dead and everything.
--Alynxa, 12 Beastlord (but 11 when I started killing these bugs--ah, it seems like only yesterday. OK, it was yesterday.)

Tonight the glowbug wasn't where I saw it spawning, it was beyond the debris and around the next corner. Not as good a spot unless you can root the bugger. Good Hunting!
--Alynxa, 14 Beastlord (Yes, I did. Just squashing bugs.)
Spawn LOC?

Where exactly does he spawn?

I found one regularly (one day) at n2962 n888, sometimes two. The next day I went down there and couldn't find any, but I didn't kill the grime tunneler that had spawned where the glowbug had been before. See my post on the Quest of the Khati Sha Recruit page.

Can I get a loc on this spawn
# Jan 18 2002 at 2:25 PM Rating: Default
Hail fellow adventures. I and my girlfriend always play together in a group. She's a BL and needs that glowing heartstone for her quest. I'd appreciate a location or a where to find this mob. We've always come in through the Shadeweaver entrance.
Thank you.

Go in from the hollowshade moor side (enter hollowshade moor from Vah Shir and hug the right wall until you get to the water, there is an entrance in the rocks on the water) and you will find the way into paladul caverns. Kill the muck diggers around there and sooner or later (was a lot sooner than later for me) a glowing muck digger will spawn. Be careful he hits quite a bit harder than the regular muck diggers and he runs when he is low on hp's but he was easy enough for my lvl 14 beastlord to solo so you won't have any problem.

Ok here's the deal on the glowballs - they seem to spawn from 12 to 14 (yellow white and blue to me now at 13) and they drop glowing heartstone, which I hear is for some BL quest. If your fighting these solo though, be aware that they will flee near death and train the whole tunnel on you.
