Hi, i'm member of a guild on karana server. We are about 6-7 full groups of 51+ if there is most of the people are online. Unfortunately, we only got 1 55+ necro but a lot of high priests and melees. Do you think we can get it out easily?
I need to know all the infos you can give that haven't been given in the last posts. How to turn in the ring of fire? What is the respawn time? etc...
This guy is almost as hard as AoW (overall - and yes I have done this and AoW). There are four waves of maybe 10 or 15 mobs at a time coming from all corners, the mobs being maybe around level 55 or so and then after those are two waves of mobs (same amount) levels 58 59 about that flurry (similar to flurry drakes in ntov), and then one wave of two level 61-62 mobs that you fight at the same time (flurry etc...). After that you fight burrower which is about 10 minute fight with a very strong guild *edit* and hits for over 1000 (non-warriors that don't have defensive hehe 8D) *edit*. There are issues with getting in the right spot to melee him (there are with most luclin worms) so you use ignite bones to make him an easier target (a skelly)... I didn't have much of a problem with this cause I use bow for this hehe ;).
No you cannot kill him with only one level 55+ person in your guild, the majority should be level 60.
This is a progessive fight, not just one big worm.
You will be hit with waves of worms, lots of small wimpy ones at first, and gradually they become harder and largeer till you fight this big guy in the picture above.
I can GUARANTEE you will not be able to take him out with low 50's. It will take roughly the same numbers you mentioned but all lvl 60
Its the same for all the larger Luclin worms/burrowers....you have to be in JUST the right spot along its length or you cant hit! The coding for this particular type mob is screwed up. Try fighting the big worm in ME, or the big burrowers in Akheva and its the same.
That was unnesecary, the fact that it IS a nice picture remains and it is quite a unique event that sharing it with the rest of EverQuest players should be rewarded, i also think it is a nice picture good job whoever took it

Theres massive problems with targeting on this guy.
Have 2 necros.
Have them chain ignite bones on it fding after each hit. It shows only the skel but the skel is at the center of its target this gives tanks alot easier job and will up melee damage alot

Which is the same thing, for the uneducated or not-too-quick as camping with /q.
Why people have to post ignorance like this is beyond me.
The real targeting trick for the Burrower is you have to survive all the mobs he spews out until he is done, just like any of the Luclin ring events. Once you have survived all those waves, he is targetable.
Yeah, pretty much genius. If you can get to the point where you are trying to target this mob, you obviously know what /q does. That guy should go try to give some (ugh I hate this word...here it comes..) newbies some mod rods and tell them it right clicks a level of experience.
My guild dropped this mob last night. Its just like a Ring of Fire quest, 10 waves i think, so DPS is very important...so you can rest inbetween each wave, then when this Dune like worm pops...you need to have endless mana....so mod rods etc
Anyways he dropped FT5 robe, the Dagger and some lame *** range item they gave to me! forget the name but stats read like this
AC 10, wis/intstam 12, 65 hp/mana, 5 save all, with a FT 3 effect!
We've been fighting this beast for a little while now. I'll try to answer the fellow who asked for some information about this battle. I think that the character in the picture may be shrunken, because the Burrower is decent sized, but not giant sized I would say. He seems to be a warrior type mob and he hits for about 700 max with warrior defensive disc up, but the hardest thing about him is finding a spot that you can hit. He is not targettable along his entire girth and length, you have to be pretty much in his center (lengthwise) to hit him. That is why the necromancer casting Ignite Bones on him is so helpful, its much easier to target him.
Smushu Stonearm Level 60 Ogre Warrior Ashen Vendetta Innoruuk Server
correct this mobs bounding box is roughly the same size as oh... The Dain. The first couple times we faught him I spent half the time seeing "your target is too far away" "you cannot see your target" I think anybody who fights through all the waves and reaches him wishes VI will fix this. For a critter of his size he should have the same surface area of a Kael Giant or ToV Dragon.

If you want to talk about suing verant and stuff take it to the usual message boards, and quit clutering a good website with worthless messages. (I know this in itself is a worthless message, but at least I'm voicing my complaint hehe)

Hmmm wonder how long it is? Do i have to run a 1/4 mile to backstab? <Removes Dwarven workboots and laces up his runners> Looks like it would make for a very LONG fight..hehe
From the sounds of it..Once it spawns (however that may be) ye can't target it to kill it until ye have fought all the smaller worms it spits out.

Actualy when my guild fought this guy. It was sort of like a ring of fire type fight. We saw him. When we walked up to him. He spat out 12 smaller worms wich we killed. He started to pull back so we followed. He went into a huge room that was circular. We tried to walk up to him again and he spat out 12 more higher lvl worms. This kept going in phases. Eventualy the worms got lower in numbers but higher in lvl and larger in size.
This bad wormy has been dropped... not so hard to kill, so i shouldnt say hes a bad wormy. He has INSANELY good loot though. Many guild dropped him on first attemp, so i know hes a EZ kill.
You have to do something to make him targeted, not sure what though. Watched someone kill him but didnt see how they made him targitable
To target him you have to do the ring event first to spawn the burrower parasite (who is the ACTUAL mob you fight). I SERIOUSLY doubt you watched someone kill him if you didn't know this cause the ring before burrower is almost an hour long I cannot see how you might overlook it :).
And no he is not an easy fight at all. Like Cantiz said he is close to AoW strength.
At lvl 37 i seriously doubt you have one clue about this encounter. It is not an easy kill actually it takes some serious team work and a little luck. Yes, the guild i am in has killed this mob and he is somewhat close to AoW hard....but not quite.
