If anyone still cares, this mob wanders around the first floor of the castle. Just clear all the first 3 mobs at entrance and then pull this guy. Immune to changes in runspeed.
"Your skin tears as bolts of elemental power strike you. You have taken 250 points of damage."
and
"Your skin shreds as swords of rain down from above. You have taken 324 points of damage."
and
"You feel blood drain from your body. You have taken 200 points of damage."
and finally
"You feel your skin ignite. You have taken 418 points of damage."
He doesn't melee all that hard but the spells hurt a lot. This was on a level 46 shadow knight with the following resists: PR62, MR68, DR96, FR72, CR72.
Will at first I didnt understand why they had a negative fire stuff but I didnt now what a corterie was so I saw some of them and most of them dont look like vampires any who sorta obvious now why they have negative fire hehe. After seeing a vampire movie too.. heh
Just dropped him 5 min mintues ago. Started fight 50 pct mana, pet and i fully buffed (incl savagry on me). cleared out centi's first then pulled with sha's advantage, it stuck and proceeded to melee. During the enitre fight he managed to land 1 nuke on me (for 210) the rest were resisted (135MR with savagry and i forgot my resist gear) or interrupted. lifetapped me a few times but and when he flurried i backed up and let the pet take it. Took 7 min and dropped the blood-weave shoes.
Some friends and I decided to come here for fun the other night. He did indeed drop Fist of Iron (2nd time around) and folks let me (or more specifically my 52 monk alt) have the Fist.
The next afternoon I was camping this with my druid and a buddy's druid.
Imagine my surprise when we killed another named and it dropped Zekhas Katar. Needless to say my monk is "polishing up" his h2h combat skills quite well now.
If you see Smakkya Silly in TB mountains send a tell, I could tell you all the pops on all 3 floors including where the named are.
62 enchater here just soloed him. It took me 20 minutes but I finnally got him wasn't to hard only used 40 mana to start. This guy hooked me up with some awesome uberific crystallized sulfer. What a damn gyp. I guess I try again tomarrow.
I've killed this guy at least 100 times solo. He has never dropped it once, but judging from the rate some of the other stuff drops - it would not suprise me if it was indeed on the drop table.
Take Gorelaz for instance the next guy, I've killed him at least 100 times as well and I've seen him drop the mask he drops once, maybe twice. Seen him drop the Mace and Zekhas' Katar many times.
Xenthien if anything besides gems or money loots, I've seen drop the Girdle of the Blood Fiend, Flute of Eternal Night and a random piece of Blood Weave... including the gloves which are not listed above. This stuff is fairly rare. But anyway lol nope I've never seen the fist of Iron.
I'm a level 55 Beastlord and had just received some KEI (wouldn't have had a chance without it). I was the only one in the zone so I decided to try killing this guy. Like others have said, he has a TON of hitpoints. I let my pet do all of the tanking, although it took a long time to finally finish him off (he even tried to gate at the end).
Well of all the items listed above as common loot, all I got was a "Star Ruby Earring" to sell to a merchant. What a waste of time, thank you Verant once again, you are masters at your skill of wasting peoples time. Anything that takes that long, should *always* drop some kind of decent loot.

Posted:Nov 16 2003 at 9:32 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Wow, you are such a whiner. Everyone should know that there is always a chance that something like that'll happen. Don't start complaining just because you killed a mob ONCE and it only dropped one thing. Maybe if you killed him like 4-5 times and you only got that every time then you should complain, but a single occasion like that is no reason to get pissed at Verant.
Funny Magikton, I could same the EXACT same thing about your post... what a whiner. Unlike some Verant A** kissers, I state the truth. If Verant wastes 30 minutes of my time killing a mob, then I have every right to complain.
kabbus thats just being a hypocrit, and he was right too !! anyone that kills a mob one time and doesnt get the item that they want so they **** and moan over it should just quit eq, this game isnt ment to be beat in a day and isnt ment to allow a level 55 soloing beastlord to get a fist of iron off a mob that is very easy every 20 minutes !!

( this isnt a game for people without patience )
Named Vampires have TONS of Hit Points. Camped the Vamp castle with a 52 Druid, 51 Cleric, 51 Beastlord, 52 Shaman, and me (52 Paladin). As a Paladin, pulling him solo was no difficulty, Pacify all vamps at ent, and wait for him to swing by entrance, as he does patrols on the first floor.
I can say that having a Shaman can REALLY make a difference. He prefers to nuke (max I have seen is around 600dd), but will melee. He RAMPAGE's and FLURRY's, but it really doesn't make an impact. He doesn't hit too hard, around 110 is his max, but he does have a 200dd life tap proc.
The only real problem you have is his HP. You can kick his ***, but beware, you might find there is too much *** to kick.
First Pull he dropped ~ - Girdle of the Blood Fiend - Bloodweave Sleeves
My 54 shaman and 54 monk were just slaughtered by this guy. We both had all resists over 100. First thing he did was dispell magic, removing some buffs. Second was a 200 HP HT.
The shaman landed Malosini and Turgurs without hitch, but he was still hitting for 100+. He has a fire based DD that does 300+ damage...he has another magic DD that does around 300 also ("elemental power")...yet another 600 point DD ("lacerated by steel") and another 300+ DD ("swords rain down from above").
We barely touched him...he absolutely clobbered us, but pretty much entirely with magic. Shaman tried to gate at 30% health but got hit for 600 and died. Monk tried to FD at 30% but failed and suffered the same fate with yet another 600 point DD.
Be very careful if you take him on... shaman/monk was useless against him.
Those spells are all mage spells, Does he spawn in several different classes? Reading above it sounded like he was a Necro. But your post he is using Mage spells.
Nice, did it as a 60 druid, sorta tough to solo without a pet cause he can't be snared/rooted. Pullings a little tricky to, had to get up close to wall so he aggroed me first then he ran out, no adds. Dropped a Jacinth, bah
This guy gates @ low health, around 20% so I suggest when he gets to about 30 - 25% start nuking... If he does gate, he regens very quickly... we had him down to 20%, gated, & when we pulled him back from the castle, he was @ 65%... He resists dark, snare, root ("cannot change run speed")
