In the Plane of Fear: The God of Fear, Cazic Thule, wanders the northeastern area of his home Plane around the ring of fire. He (unlike his denizens) regards Iksars as his allies. (Screenshot by Kyter)

In the Plane of Time: For event information, see this quest entry. Cazic drops three items from his loot table.

In House of Thule, Upper Floors: Cazic Thule is in a deep sleep, unattackable.

In Fear Itself (group mission): Spawns as part of the task "An Offering to Thule".

In Fear Itself (raid): Cazic is the main encounter in the "Cazic's Final Stand" raid event (see this quest entry for event and loot information).

I just killed normal CT on Test. Usually he's The Shade of CT, but this was a rare time when I've seen normal CT in normal fearplane.

Not sure if it's because of the fableds (although there are no fableds in fearplane), but yeah. I play very casually (a few weeks per year, and not /played weeks), so my memory can fail me, but I don't remember seeing normal CT for a long, long time. I was surprised to see him up and not the shade.

Anyway, fun facts.

To this day, I have only ever seen this guy up twice since I joined the game back in 2001. I've never seen any other "named" up in there except golems lol... Need to convert to instanced based game play so other people have a crack at these spawns! Will it ruin economy of these SUPER OVERPRICED items? Yes... so be it.

Devs made a workaround. And would you believe it?? They still camp normal spawns for epics. It's disgusting. Someone gave me slime blood of cazic thule, randomly, to help me out. He could've sold it for 150k on my server, like those parasites of the community. But he gave it to me. Gonna do the same when I'm a higher level. Ruin their economy since they ruin our game.

It's a shame that people who kill targets of high interest do not receive a type of debuff or flag of some kind that prevents them from perma-camping these NPCs....

Having killed CT several times over the past few years, I feel confident in stating that he no longer drops his old items, and that they are found exclusively on the three golems. Every time I've killed him, he has only dropped the new items with +100 HP/Mana and such.

That fact that CT summons is great for us monks.. makes it much easier infact. Full PoFear spawn, smack CT.. come help your god my whatever he says.. so they come charging.. i went ahead and passed the time with impenterable while they arrived.. took id imagine like about 2m. merc just healed away.. no biggie. once i felt they were all there did wind up.. activated epic 1.0,IoT, 2nd spire, clicked tunic, glyph of cata, the whole 9 yards and then hit our ripo disc.. 10 sec later.. all mobs cept CT were dead.. 5 min later CT was dead.. very easy for a 85 monk with T3 armor from UF. wpns were fippy 1hb (dont make fun of me) and SoD tower wpn.. from event 3.. not on toon as you can see and my memory sucks lol.

everything that CT did was resisted as i have 3500aa.. fun fight.

Solo with healer Merc

While Checking PoF with my 85 Necro for Golems for the Warrior Epic drop, I noticed CT was up and no Golems.

Cool, lets kill him. He drops epic stuff, but I noticed on Allah afterwards, he doesn't drop the warrior drop /sigh.

Clearing the zone is pretty easy for an 85 necro. I'm not sure of the repop times but I had plenty of time for 4 tries to kill CT.

I ran out of mana 3 times. Just me and my pet with no summoned weapons and a merc. The 4th time I died. My Merc probably ran out mana before I noticed. The early attempts are good to verify all the trash mobs are dead. Since CT call to them to assist, any strays show up after a while. A simple necro evac cancelled the fight with CT and I could clean up the extra mobs.

I bound myself just outside the zone at the entrance to PoF so any deaths and I was close to the zone.

Don't forget to clear mobs on the tower inside the ring of fire. There can be lots of them although at level 85 they were no problem at all. Run inside the rooms to do a full check.

CT was pretty resistant to a lot of my spells. I ended up loading just poison spells which work the best with him, but don't have the high damage my other spells have. But I ran out of mana.

Tips:
His knock back spell is a pain so have a form of Leviatation up, it greatly reduces the effect.

He dispells bufs. Its probably a waste to rebuf a mana regen but I'd keep a pet haste spell memmed.

Necro and Shaman
OK, 4 failues. I came back the next day and CT was still up. I two boxed a friends 75 shaman.

No problems this time.
Clear the zone.
Solo CT and figure out what mobs you missed. Kill em.

Added the Shaman for a final fight.
1. Shamana Malo was great. My necro spells stuck better. I should have tried non-poison ones, but I didn't. No mana issues.
2. Shaman slow. BAD. You Can't slow CT.
3. Shaman Dots. Seemed to work fine.
4 Shaman Melee. I didn't check stats but I had her doing melee.
5. Extra Merc healer.



Zone loot i.e. gem trade in quest
With so many mobs to kill clearing the zone, I did not loot, but if you are so inclined, don't forget the class specific no trade stuff can be turned in for random gems in PoK

That's pretty weak of you to die at level 85 killing CT. My Enchanter did it with a only a tank merc at level 81.

That would be umm... one as you say, and a merc.

And look! So it was.

Solo here means one account, one player.

But I understand, I can be pretty picky too with people.

Instead of just admitting that you didnt solo it at all, you 2 boxed it with your friends shaman and had mercs x 2, you snare yourself in a reply that doesnt make any sense at all, way to go /clap

It really doesnt matter if it was one account, what matter when one soloes mobs is that there is only 1 character, imho having these mercs out aint soloing any longer either, but I would admit your great feat anyway had you duo'ed it with your necro and your merc, as that in itself is great knowledge for other necro's, that it can be done.

Writing that you soloed it is just dumb and you know it.

For those who haven't ever done this fight before and are reading up on it, just make sure before you decide to take on Cazic Thule that you go through the zone polishing off as many mobs as you can before you engage. On my first try, I made the big mistake of engaging him before I killed everything in the zone, and wound up having probably in the vicinity of 100-200 mobs on me. I managed to kill them all, but instead of taking about five minutes, the fight took me about an hour and was somewhat difficult being the essence of rage decided to join the fight and chain mezz me. Just about the only thing that saved me from certain death was barrage of arrows. By the time CT dropped, there was literally 3 mobs left standing in the zone.

Oh, and another sidenote... as every other creature in fear, hes got one big *** agro radius, so watch your step.

Duo'd with Demi-Plane/Anguish geared 75 Ench, and a similarly geared 70 Ranger. Interesting fight. No Trunk, no AON, so the loot pretty much rotted.

duod him today with a 85 warrior lizard and me a 71 druid and a healer and a tank merc a piece of cake! maybe 1 minute battle! he only dropped halo of the enlighted and robe of inspiration /cry no AoN for me!

DUo'd Him last night. 80 Ranger, 800 aa's, 16k hitpoints, 2690 ac. and 74 shaman,100 aa's, 7k hitpoints around 9k mana. took a bit of time to clear the zone, finally give up and attempted him the first time with 25 other mobs left in the zone, got him to 38% before rampage ate up the shaman, 2nd attempt only had 11 mobs in zone. Pulled him to the top of the tower, parked the shammy in a corner and tanked him just inside the room. Fight took almost 11 minutes, he had 464k hitpoints. Dropped Crimson Robe of Alendine , Halo of the Enlightened
and Cloak of the Fearsome. Was fun fight.

trioed with 80 bst, 80 bard, 80 mage, bard tanked. 14.3k unbuffed, 3kish AC. piece of cake.

first try we only cleared half the zone for fun then attacked him, was fun. then gated out. about 50 mobs + CT.. killed about 20 of them and got CT down to 80ish, dunno wasn't paying too much attention.

Golems were down, so I whacked this guy instead (didn't have his insta-clickie yet).
80 SK, 4kac with self buffs, max shielding etc, all the important AAs. Took an hour and a half to clear the zone, and 10 minutes to bring him down.
When he actually did hit me, it was mostly 150-200, with some 400-500 hits thrown in. He couldn't take my health below 98% before my lifetap procs brought me back to 100%.
I had to heal my pet at 40% because the rampage damage was wearing him down.
3 clickies is enough to counter his dispel.

Oh, and bring a tash stick if you want to use challenge/trial for power on him.

I don't know if they have changed it but we went in with 4 toons lvl 78 shd lvl 73 wizard lvl 77 ranger and a lvl 68 cleric. We pulled him and he did 93k damage to the shd right off the bat and we didn't last long enough to find out what did the 93k so if anyone know pls post

Odds are one of the Deathtouching golems were up and CT summoned them on top of your tank. CT doesn't DT, himself.

My level 72 monk with 120 aa's and a level 75 monk with 1000+ aa's duo'd him earlier today on prexus. only one time during the fight did the 75 monk have to FD and let me take agro to wait for his mend to become usable. He didn't drop anything good, but it was a fun fight.

Killed CT today 2/17/2008. Had an alt come over to loot one of the items from CT's corpse and was not able to the whole time the corpse was waiting to expire. Something like 30mins of rot time and the alt outside the group was not allowed to loot the corpse.

I dont know if this is new or what but it made me laugh. LOL

I've been camping these overcamped golems off and on for my SK's Soul Leech for years and finally get one to drop, but I couldn't loot it. If you don't have loot rights when this mob dies, you're not looting from it. What a great lesson learned after just coming back from WoW to EQ... Going to get ice for my balls now.

Duo'd today with a tap-tanking 80 Necro and an 80 Wizard, both with approx 13k HP unbuffed and 16k mana. Resisted Panic every time and snare was a non-issue, since everytime I got flung I was summoned right back to his feet. The dispell was spiffy, and I got a little nervous when I was down to 10% mana and he was at 16%, but we squeezed it out. After 15 minutes and 32 seconds, he died to a pet killshot (lol) and I got my "I Tanked Cazic Thule and All I Got Was This Lousy Robe of Inspiration" t-shirt as a souvenir.

Quite possibly the most fun I've had in a long, long time.

Duoed with 80 Beastlord 15k hp unbuffed 14k mana and 80 berserker probably about 10k hp unbuffed.. accidentally agroed him while clearin the zone so got about half of the zone summoned. managed to survive and kill him though.

in one instance it was 73 hours before he spawned after dying
the next time it was 81 hours

is there a way to fix Cazic Thule faction?2 iksar guildies killed him and even though they didnt seem drop below amiable id like to know what problems iksars might have with lowering CT faction and what can be done to fix it thanks a ton

I've been trying to talk and do my turn in with cazic thule for my whistling fists, but have been unable to find him (maybe the spurt of recent server resets have had to do with that though)... I've been getting contradictory information on some stuff, so if anyone can confirm what's true and what's not, that would be great:

1.) Is his spawn rate 3 days or a week?

2.) Where does cazic thule wander? I've had people tell me around the ring of fire, but also in the NE corner (ring of fire is in the NW corner)... does he wander around both, or maybe (I'm thinking) just in the north area in general?

Also, is there any way to tell if he's up (someone said when he's up he shouts things out to the whole zone)

EDIT:

I answered two of my questions:

He wanders in the NE corner, where the phoboplasms and nightmares are. If you hang around the north of the temple (which is a safe spot), he wanders near it to the north of it and to the south of it, and he'll stand in two locations that are relatively wanderming moster free (but not entirely).

And the shouting thing, he does shout, though it's not very frequently (maybe every 15 minutes or so)

Various posts here and other places give the spawn rate as 3 or 5 or 7 days. I won't say those posts were wrong...they could have been right at the time of their posting, as EQ has been known to change things without warning. What I can say is that I was in a grp that killed him at about 10pm on Friday night 10/12/07. Since he did not drop the epic 1.0 sword piece that my sk needed, I camped my sk there. I checked the zone every once in awhile the following Saturday, Sunday and Monday. He was not up (yelling his silly "infidel" line zonewide) at 11PM on that Monday...but a few hours later at 2AM on Tuesday he was yelling his brag. So until EQ changes things, his spawn rate is close to 3 days.

There are 2 spawn timers. 1st timer is 3 days and CT won't spawn during that time. 2nd spawn timer is random and CT may spawn at anytime. They made it this way on several of the mobs so farmers can't know exactly when a mob will spawn and have to sit around once the 1st spawn timer is up.
