hey all i was just wondering about this tv armor. I am a 44 ranger getting ready to go in to the planes was just wondering what a good size group would be for getting this stuff i have a few guilds that can help me but just dont want to invite too many people mainly cause of the increased chance that i'll get loot if group is smaller. i have about 3 rangers in the early 50s a cleric and a paladin maybe a few others druid and wiz. any helpp on planning this would be nice. ty

Just wanted to say that Thorny Vine drops off of the treasure chests in hate, very rarely. They seem to drop at random any fear/hate armor pieces. I got myself a pair of boots, and while I don't like how they look, they have decent ac and very good stats. I look terrible though... brownish silver legs and bracer (ice forged shackles and dark assasin greaves), brown helm and arms (tolan's), tan(leather) bp(treeweave), and olive green boots(TV boots).

Last weekend we did pof 2x, we had following drops:

2x helm
3x pants
1x gloves

Pretty nice out of 15? tentacles. Also, Tv looks nice in SoL engine.

I love Playing my Ranger 51 and My Pally 25. They are both good Classes with distinct skills for a group. However, in PoH last night I was stealing aggro from a 58 Warrior not even using my Call of Sky proc spell or snare. We out DPS Pally's all over the place. I wont even mention our Bow mastery over all other classes or our Damage Shields that seem to be in demand either. If you have never played a Ranger you need to keep your mouth shut. If you have and didn't like it you, didn't put in the effort needed to master one of the Best classes in the game. I'll always want a Pally in my group. I just wish I knew Mr Anonymous's char name so I could NEVER have him in a group.

Yes say that to a ranger with trueshot discipline and is able to crit for over 2000 damage the challenge them to a duel and see how long your pally lasts.

bah snare is not our only advantage over paladins. we also get dual weld, sow one of the most sought after buffs for travel and an array of debuffing DD spells that palys just dont get. the only real thing a paly is good for is undead mobs and the ocasional need for lay hands. if you ask me rangers have a lot more 'character' than paladins.

TV Armor

My guild had our first PoF raid this weekend and it went great. We had TV gloves and BP drop along with Garland and the Fluxblade Axe. Lucky me got the BP and Axe. I won't ever really use the axe, bad stats and too much agro with 150DD, but the BP I wear with pride. Much better than my old Treeweave.

Was on PoF last night with my new guild, my second time in there. We were camping by the wall of fire and we were two full groups. We only fought three of these mobs, one dropped Thorny Vine boots and one dropped that Dweamorvine Garland.

I of course got the Boots as I was the only ranger, and that was a great uppgrade from my Dwarven work boots :D
After what ive heard two drops like this outta three possible is pretty good!

Anyway, this was my first piece of TV armor and I will be back and get some more when I have the chance.

Let's say I go on Fear 10 times. How many times do you guys think ANY piece of TV will drop out of those 10 times? And do most guilds that go on Fear raid even bother going after these tentacle tormentors? I need to get rid of these Ivy Etched legs and boots!

There are a little over half a dozen (6-8?) of these north of the zone-in area, and there is one by itself that hangs out by the ring of fire.

Tenical Terrors have a AE dispell whitch can take out and enite parties buffs durring the corse of the fight. when your party starts to pull theses dont buff again untill the last one is dead. Just a huge waste of mana.

Well, I for one have been on at least 5 Fear riads, both before the Kurnak expansion and after. In all that time, I've seen 1 piece of TV drop. For the longest time I actually thought it was just a hoax. All I can recommend from my experience is that you'll have a ton more fun if you go to Fear for the experience (not points) of goin there and the tremedous battles. Let the armor fall where it may, and enjoy it for what it is.
My first trip
# Jul 21 2001 at 4:41 AM Rating: Decent
Well we got a pair of leggings (off a photoplasm actually) and I lost em, but the ranger who got em only needed the legs and the BP and this was the first pair of legs he seen in like 7 raids, so I was VERY happy for him =) I was just stoked to be in Fear. A few pulls later however we grabbed a TT, and lo and behold he's got my shiney new pair of boots! My only pair of TV armor so far, but hey it was only my first PoF raid, I'm happy! I just wanna LIVE in there! Very fun raid! Had the place cleared in 4 hours. No Drac or CT though...

I finally got full TV last night with the helm. The rarest piece ive seen so far is the bracers. Ive seen 3bps 2 legs 3 guantlets 4 boots 4 helms 6 arms and 1 bracer<mine>. And this is out of about 7 fear raids. Well good luck ya'll on your armor and may tunare bless you.

Heh... I got lucky one day and got all pieces of TV that dropped in 1 run. 4 Pieces.. can you believe it? I have not seen more than 2 pieces drop on all the other planes runs I've been on... well, I'm fortunate that I was the the only Ranger on the raid this time, so I got to loot every piece of it (no duplicate pieces either). I got Legs, BP (both of these are the rarest pieces I have seen so far), bracer and gauntlets. How sweet it is... enough bragging, I'll let ya'll pout now.

All i freaking want of some thorny vine is legs and boots, i would trade all my armor for those two pieces, and those pieces drop the most i hear, so, yipee! when i make it too the planes (gonna take forever being a hybrid), i may get leggings. And drinsic, dont complain about 30, complain about 35

Being a ranger I REALLY want a set of thornyvine ( too bad I'm lvl 30! Friggin Hell lvls ). My guild is REALLY big and we have Fear raids every now and then and my high lvl ranger mentors are always telling me it's hard as crap to get thornyvine becuase there aren't many TT spawn points in the zone. So even if I do make it to the planes it'll take forever to get a full suit of the sweat stuff. Ahh well.

Drinsic,

Never give up hope. Get through your hell levels (Yes, it's possible!) maybe spending a few levels fearkiting in Iceclad would make that yellow bar move a little quicker...

As far as I can tell you're much more likely to get considered for armor drops if you're raiding with friends in your guild - I've only been on raids with strangers (who have become friends over time, which is another nice thing :) And have managed to get a pair of boots on my fourth raid. I'm only level 49, you just have to keep going.

The first part is always the hardest to get (so I'm told) Once you have that, the rest is real easy. Sure sometimes the TT's don't even drop anything, but you shrug, smile, and keep raiding so you can help your friends get their armor. They'll do the same for you :)

Being far away from the zone point isn't really a big issue either, there are I think (don't flame me if I've got this wrong, like I said i've only been on four raids, hehe) Two or three sets of mobs that come before the TT's, and they are usually dealt with fairly quickly (cause the pallies all want their armor too ;)

Well, I've rambled on a bit too long.

Summary:
1. Guild raiding will make things easier
2. Thorny vine does drop, and if you try you'll get some eventually ;)

As for getting a full suit... well, ask me in a couple of years, hehe

This mob drops Ranger Thorny Vine Armor and also Dweamorvine Garland (the no drop druid belt). The two drops are independent of each other, so sometimes it has both, good luck with the loot since there are only 6-8 of these/spawn.
