This guy has been my favorite chew toy from level 32 to level 51 on three different characters, and I've NEVER seen the Undead Shissar Scales drop. I'm not convinced that they drop from him any longer, if they ever did.

spawned while i was killing skellies. solod him with my lvl 30 bard. his stuff is decent for lvl 1 twinking. i remember his loot was pretty popular (esp the orb) pretty early on on my server.

Jeeze.. must be a pretty twinked Bard. I remember fighting this guy with my Druid. True, it was back when Luclin came out, but it took us newbies a group of mid 30's to take this guy out. ..I'll admit, though, the detials of whether or not it was a hard or quick battle aren't in my memory. Just this surprise that it was in an area we were hunting, in that room, and wondering about the skeletons and possible adds.
oh ya, he's real

You got the wrong mob; Torkazh does not float, and he most certainly does not drop the Terror Hide Boots. That would be Xilniov. He appears first as a floating apparition of a mind horror, giving you a small speech, then manifests fully as Xilniov.

EDIT: And I agree on your edit

Well as far as I can see this mob has no loot worthy of mention ... and I can solo it with a 44 Beasty with moderate armors.

Seems a waste of a named mob to me.

This guy is a joke what's his purpose? Drops very junky stuff and the only thing i want from him the organ's i've never seen! I've killed him at least 20 times now. I've also cleared skellies all those times and have never seen the myth spawn.

Myth spawn? U mean Xilniov? I have killed Xil several times. he is real and does spawn when you kill the room like every 3 times or so. Its been a while but he is definetly real
Necros and Enchanter

Just for any necros or chanters who haven't tried, this snake makes an excelent pet. My necro, 45 at the time of this post, just charms this guy, buffs him, then whipes out everything that walks in echo. Kill for a few minutes till your pet is low on health, then fd. This guy can even solo fireclaw in under a minute with no help from you! Let the good times roll with this guy.

Ran into that room in my early 30s...can anyone say NECRO!!!

Interesting - the undead skellie slaves near Taskmaster conned indifferent to me with my innate camo on, but apprehensive without it - seems like they don't see invis like other undead

this thing is blue to a 52.
it hits for 60-80 (not to shabby)
swings kinda slow for its lvl
has about 1.5-2k hps(sorry bout the big gap there, but my dmg calc wasnt working right)
doesnt run and has no disc's spells or abilities to worry about

hope that helps
Great exp spot
# Dec 20 2003 at 6:01 PM Rating: Default
Camping right below the Taskmaster room is an excellent spot for exping if you get a decent 40s group going. There are a ton of spawns, including the Taskmaster and his slaves and about a dozen spawns in the room below, plus you can pull from other rarely camped areas in the zone (Underbulks, Fiends, etc) during the rare slow times. The mobs are easy for a group with a healer and decent dps, and you can keep an almost constant stream coming in. Plus you can grab an orb of echo ore for each member of the group by the end of the camp, and possibly get Fireclaw to spawn once or twice for a couple more decent items. The loot isn't too great here, except for those few drops I mentioned, but the exp is excellent and very safe for those in their 40s or maybe even late 30s.
The slaves
# Oct 29 2003 at 5:02 PM Rating: Default
Ive heard many people say that the slaves are social with him, i can tell you that is Not the case. They are on one of the Iksar factions, they con ally to my 48 Beastlord. i fought him right in the middle of the room, 0 adds. Hailing the skeletons does nothing.....but i havent thought til just now of trying to hand one of them the skull. Ill give it a try and keep you posted.

This guy is no match at 52(druid). just root, cast Breath of Ro (92dmg/tick), Drifting Death (64dmg/tick) and Drones of Doom (34dmg/tick).. only need to recast Breath of Ro and Drifting Death once...
Spawntime is about 30 minutes

Cracked Shissar Revenant Skull
# Jul 07 2003 at 4:15 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, I originally posted on the wrong mob, but oh well. This skull seems to drop everytime off of the taskmaster. I myself have killed him many times and have only ever seen the skull and the orb. I was just wondering if anyone knew what quest the skull is used for?
Poison resistant?

I only tried to cast Envenomed Bolt twice on this guy before switching to something else, but both times he resisted it. That may have been bad luck, but being a snake I guess it makes sense if he has a very high poison resistance.

I just finished camping this mob and the room outside his tonight, with 2 of my guildies. Group was a 38 Monk (me), 44 Warrior and 44 Shaman. Room was easy to sigle pull and clear, then I would single pull the TM (without any adds) down to the large cleared room. He was an easy kill everytime.
To pull him, I would just run up and let him agro on me, them backout of the room. None of the skellys would assist, since I hadn't attack the TM.
You can pull the 2 skellies on the right of the room, after the TM is dead. The other four won't agro.
Out of the four skellies i found i could pull the left two, without the right two agroing.
In the end we had a nice cycle going.
Clean large room, kill TM, kill right two skellies, kill left two skellies of the four remaining, then rest and let Shaman med, then start cycle again.

Safe journey and good hunting,

Krudzilla Lee,
39 Iksar Monk.

At 47, (Paladin) i took him out..had to use LoH's, but was still fairly easy, just make sure to soothe all the skeletons or they will come to the rescue of the Taskmaster.
thinking on trying to camp him...

i am a 49 SK and i have greenmist (18 22 normaly 24 22 vs shissar) and so i just wanna know what is the best way for a SK to solo this guy and the skels in his room?

Fd pull him easiest way for sk.
Pull to zoneline and fear kite.
Simple easy no skill...

Why kill newbies when you can train them?
A decaying skeleton hits you for 4 points of damage....loading please wait...
The lowdown

The TM is a timed spawn between 30 and 35 minutes. The 52 chanter (Xilniov) ONLY spawns if you clear the room completely. If you leave 1 slave up, Xilniov never spawns. The slaves are on aout a 10 minute spawn.

I have killed the TM approximately 100 times now (dont make me strip the kill messages from my logs) as my 44-48 cleric duoing or grouping with a combination of a 45-49 pally, 41-46 monk (although at 41 it was tougher), or a 50-53 warrior, depending which of my friends were on at the time. We have all leveled that many times on the slaves, the TM and the room ourside. In those many many kills the organs have dropped a total of 5 times.

I usually chain stun the TM with the occassional banish undead, and one CH at some point.

If we start the night at full spawn, the tank pulls the door slave, then the TM. I can keep any adds (up to 3) parked while we finish off the TM.

The whip sells for 47PP
The scale sells for 19PP
The orb sells for 7PP
and the picks from the slaves, although lore, are 7PP (all have gold, silver, copper too)

In an evening session we make 100PP minimum (after paying my addiction of KEI and peridots)

All in all, it's a fun camp, very lucrative in plat and XP from 40 up for 2 or 3 players.
RE: The lowdown
# May 13 2003 at 3:25 AM Rating: Decent
This is not true. I have hunted the TM camp a lot and have seen Xilniov spawn with a full room before. The best I could make it out to be is a 6 hour spawn or so. He can also apparently be triggered by clearing the skellies, then kill the TM and then kill all the skellies again before the TM respawns. I tried this a couple weeks ago and Xilniov did indeed spawn, but since I have only tried it once, I cannot confirm that it will work every time.

Myself, a 56 chanter, and a 57 Warrior took Xilniov down pretty easily. I had to use LoH once, but that was expected since we had no healer.

Anyway, Xilniov will spawn with mobs in the room. He then buffs all the mobs and if he isn't aggroed, will despawn after 10-15 minutes leaving a room full of buffed up skellies and the TM, if he happens to respawn when Xilniov is there.

Fun fight
# Feb 24 2003 at 9:21 AM Rating: Decent
Fought the TM all day yesterday with my lvl42 shaman and a lvl45 Paladin.

The TM was even to me everytime he spawned. He was a fun fight, we owned him every time too. Never got adds pulling the TM, but always had 2-3 skellies everytime we tried to pull just one.

What? The Shissar Organs that you turn in to a Katta quest mob for the Amulet of the Grey Wastes? Nope, no one knows about that quest.
