This is a new drop I found today off of the shissars in the Grey. The item has a tradeskills tag and is not on eqtraders at this point. It sells for 1sp to vendors.

Necro Soloing
# Mar 11 2003 at 10:02 PM Rating: Default
As a necro can solo those at the temple very easily, from 54. There are three camps around the temple with groups of 3 shissars. Not sure at which lev they single pull, but I suppose is close to 60.
Now, reason i mention 54 is Thrall of Bones. Need a reliable undead charm.
Very simple... First step is to kill the golem close to the camp you are trying to break, without aggroing the shissar; this way wil have less adds. Root and dot, I would say, should be easy enough. Or can get pet up, but feels liek a waste. After killing the golem, turn to the shissar; charm one, two more will aggro, shackle of bones on one of them, then either root (far away) or ST (will have to refresh often) the other. Your charmed shissar should be able to kill both its companions. Before charm breaks you should have the time to kill one, maybe two golems too, if they did, in the meantime, repawn. At this point the pet should be almost dead. FD to break charm, root and dot.

Just to keep those who care informed. The organs DO drop off of the revenants, As well as the scales. To get to the temple its a straight shot from the Scarlet desert zone with invis and levitate. It is seemingly better than camping the zone lines for Stalkers. PLEASE mind who yu have pulling as the golems cannot be mez'd as far as I can tell. Use caution hunting/camping here. A great zone with a few drawbacks. Keep whoever is EB'ing on thir guard and I would recomend having a seccond as well. These neclaces will truly come in handy.....:-)
Careful

Careful when using invis with these guys. They con as indifferent when you are invis. So I thought I was ok when running around the temple area. Next thing I knew I'd aggroed a few on these and upset a group hunting the golems.

A lot of other stuff in the zone can't see through invis. I don't think the shissar stalkers can see through invis, but they are supposedly classed as undead, which is a bit confusing. The wurms still boil up from beneath the sand, but they can't see you even though you've triggered the 'trap'.

I solo in The Grey occasionally and do ok, taking the shissar stalkers and golems, but I avoid the boulder fiends. They hit too hard :)

Some of these see invis and some don't. If you conned all the snakes in the area your would see that some scowl. I always check anything in range while running near snakes. Same goes for the skeles. Some see and some don't. And this is for regular invis.
The mystery

The ancient empire of the Shissar which supposedly ruled sometime between the age of scales (dragons) and Combine empire or even the Elven wars, are now found up on Luclin. These beings were originally the masters of the Iksars, using that proud race as slaves. The story of Venril Sathir is seperate, the mystery here is this:
If the Shissar were all wiped out by the "Greenmist" long ago, how did they come to inhabit Luclin. Could these possibly be the tormented souls of that powerful race?

No mystery. The story (now) goes that, rather than being wiped out by the Greenmist, the Shissar used their ultra-collosal-snake-powers to turn their greatest temple into a space-buggy. Now they all live in a big thunder...err, vaccuum-dome, drinking chianti and...well, just drinking and occasionally dealing with pesky adventurers who wander in for no sane reason.

Why is this Undead?

these are undead, so you can use all vs undead spells on them. Also, half the mobs in this zone lay around looking dead (this one included)
SKs?
# Feb 14 2002 at 7:01 AM Rating: Default
From the name id assume that they are SKs.. do they HT, snare, fear and the regular goodies of SKs?

they are not sk's. no HT. hit for 120s. have a weak immolate spell that usually hits for less than 50. fairly low hp, all blue to a 58 anyhow. they are undead.

there are 2 named revenant shzrzzizt and revenant shrsra (sp?) that drop shissar scale that are rare (1/60 or so?), fight the same but they cant be feared, hit for 161 and have a lot of hp. for some reason these 2 arent on the beastiary list.
