Good idea...rangers fear kite these using panic animal! Works a treat...they won't even bite you so you avoid the nasty poison. Be aware they are fast, so mite get adds. Still snare, cast fear animal and keep refreshing it. Easy exp and minimal hp loss. Drains u mana loads thou, so stay close to the warrens entrance if u gotta run...and reserve sum for those cure poisons! =)
You can get the poison sacs from the Cistern Asps in the Oasis of Marr.
BTW don't bother trying to do the quest until Verant 'fix' the forage system implemented in the last patch. You need to forage for 2 of the other items and after 2 days with a forage skill of 155 NOT A SINGLE SPECIAL!!! Others in the zone had 200 in forage and they didn't fare any better... seems the patch that was supposed to allow folks to forage more easily for food/water has bumped up the required level of skill for these sort of items... Bad news for us mere mortals!
Well, I've seen 3 of these things that conned blue, at 28th. So I'd say the level on these snakes is above 19, that's for sure. Also, at 28th, I soloed one and got just shy of a full blue bulb, so their experience must be pretty heavy because of their poison. If you are cautious, these are good hunting.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When someone casts: Soandso's fangs gleam with poison. Spell cast on you: You have been poisoned. Spell cast on someone: Soandso has been poisoned. Spell fades: The poison has run its course.
My Paladin 26, with SvP of 62, found that he would resist almost all Strong Poison attempts. That is, until one snake landed two almost back-to-back and a kobold caster joined the fight; barely made it to the Warrens. Had enough mana to cast three Cure Poison and just stayed ahead of the last poison counter with bandages.
