KILLED HIM THIS MORNING, HE SPAWNS DOWN IN THE MINES, IT SPAWNED ON THE BRIDGE WITH 2 EXITS, NOT THE 4 EXIT BRIDGE, ALSO SLIME ELEMNTAL IS ABOVE THERE, MUST FIND UR WAY AROUND RUNYYEYE TO BE EFFICIENT AT LEVELING AT CAMPING THESE 2 WHICH I DID QUITE EZ, GOT MY SLIME NECLACE, AND MY MOLDMAKER SHIELD.
I was exploring Runnyeye for fun the other day, and saw this guy on track, managed to think he was in one of the secret mineral rooms (the green one), but once I reached the place he purely and simply depoped.
Maybe attacked by some other mobs in the zone, or I don't know, but this was weird.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Ok first of all i was reading this exact page getting down on myself, that i prob didnt stand a chance against this guy. I killed his placer on the platform which i believe was the correct one. and started to wander around looking for the quickest evac if this guy did pop. And crap he's right infront of me next to the path to the top lvl. I'm a 40 Dwarf Pally with 1815hp and 814ac at full health and mana. Only self buffed and most are wearing. I had stun and cease both loaded and i kept stunning the crap out of him till i was oom. At this point he was at about 35% and i was still at about 85%. Then he hit me with drowsy and he shot back up to about 65% drowsy wore and hit me several times this part sucks the most. I didnt really notice him hitting hard? The named goblins took more life outta me. I was hitting him with anywhere from about 38hp to 120's weilding "steel rod of the knight" I'm also wearing 22% haste gloves. Fight lasted for about 5min i'm guessing. Once i got him to i think about 20% he ran and fight was over at this point he was mine :) He dropped the blade was hoping for gloves for gf but satisfaction of killing him was enough. I hope this helps anyone else out there who has questions. FYI if your traveling solo this zone ate me alive when i was 36 yet. BE CAREFUL!!! adds can be bad and sitting makes agro worse.
Toe to toe with my 34 ranger, he ate me alive. With some buffs, maybe with no adds I could have given him a run for his money... but as stated he has a very high regen. Came back with my 41 druid, and kept killing others, he popped I was OOM. I had to run, he hits hard. insane regen. Same old story.
Im kind of sick of people flaming these gloves too. I mean 9% is more then none, can make the difference between an average weapon and a good weapon... and would stack nicely with say Enchanter or Shammy buff.
Not to mention I have seen them sold rather cheap. for say, a level 7 ranger (on another server) I might just pick up a pair. make that 1/3 ratio closer to a 1/2 :)
I was strolling through here after slaying lots of critters for loot with my 36 paladin. I ran into this guy. He conned light blue to me so I thought I would give this guy a shot. I was fighting him for a long time but every time I hit him he regenerated it and about a tick. I was frustrated and ran away. LoHs down I had to call in some help from my friend . Ok my friend was a 56 wizzy and yes I admit it was as swatting a fly with sledgehammer but the shield he was holding was just too darn tempting. He is a AWFUL undercon!!
This thing is VERY annoying. I was going through, lost as usual, looking for things to kill for loot with my 40 shammy. Well this thing attacks and with his regen I was soon out of mana and ran away, apparently he stopped following after a while. At any rate I got my mana back up and just nuked him with Winter's Roar until he died. So just chain nuke with any DD spell and you'll be fine.
I was passing through with my 39 ranger when I saw this guy very close to the zone. I conned him and showed up green. I figure no problem. He made me run away screaming twice before I gave up. I didn't even get him to 50% before I had to run. He almost killed me the first time.
I fought him with my 61 Shadow Knight. Obviously I creamed him, but he was definitely an undercon. He did about 500hp of damage to me at lvl 61 (with 1200 AC), so I can only imagine the problems he presents to a group of lvl 25's. Very high regeneration.
He dropped the sporestrand shield and a jacinth. (The shield was visible on him as we fought.)
Was heading through Runnyeye with my lvl 50 bard when I saw this guy up on track. Made a detour to kill him. Twisting Chains, Haste and Shield of Songs he still got me down to two bubs, mainly because of the damage shield. Anyway, instead of fighting the four sporelings and a few other Sporali who jumped in, I zoned out. Rested, zoned back in and hit track. There he was again. Found his new spawn spot, killed him again. Was hoping for a third spawn but no go. Anyway, the spawn time is certainly not two hours but rather is pretty random. Got the sword and shield from him. Pretty worthless to me, but was fun anyway.
Haven't been to runnyeye in a while. Thought i'd take another crack at relieving MM of his ever elusive gloves. Since the repop time is 2 hours there is a lot of extra time to collect cash and a variety of loot from the gobbies. In addition to the BA armor it is the best place i've seen for collecting runes and words. So in a weeks time I collected 4 packs of runes for my wizzy. Spent one evening helping a brave group of lev 25 or so. They were there for exp. I was just waiting out moldy. Although I got my turn at Moldy about 5 or 6 times I never did see the gloves. But all was not a waste. In addition to 3 shields and 2 sporali defender blades, he was kind enough to donate a sapphire and a blue diamond. I had to do a triple take on that one, had to loot quick while one of his buddies was pounding on me and it looks a bit like a nexus shard. Later while medding i opened my pack and Wow... With that I can buy the gloves. take for a few days: 3 BAM, 2 masks, countless BABS and BALS, 3 shields, 2 defender blades, 2 BA coifs, 2 emerald rings, 2 sapphires, blue diamond, 4 backpacks of runes, 5 backpacks of BA armor, and 1500pp. lots of lore items rotted because often I was the only one in the zone. No gloves, but hey... not a bad fund raiser.
Here is my information gained from having fought in RE over a couple of months.
1) The Moldmaster is always level 25. 2) The Moldmaster is considerably harder than your average level 25 mob. 3) He has an AE proc called Mort Drowsy. This is a slow that will last 30 seconds. He can potentially proc this every 15 seconds. It is save versus magic. 4) The Moldmaster is a Druid. 5) The Moldmaster has been seen to cast Creeping Crud (level 24 druid dot). 6) The Moldmaster does not hit particularly hard for his level. 6) The Moldmaster has an extremely high regeneration rate. This is what makes him difficult for people around level 25 - 30. Yet not difficult for much higher level people who can take him out quickly.
Advice: We found in our early encounters with him, that a prolonged fight meant a lost fight. The longer he stays alive the more regeneration will occur.
If we could not kill him in 1 minute, we knew we were not going to win the fight. The tank output from our ranger and bard was about equal to his regeneration rate.
The only way for us to kill him was to put all casters on nuke hard mode. Forget everything else. Just nuke him down as fast as possible and his regeneration is irrelevant.
He never dropped gloves for us, though we saw many shields.
Like the other rare spawns in Runny, the moldmaster can spawn at any stationary spawn normally occupied by another fungus man on floor 2. Atleast this has been my expierence. So I wouldn't just camp the min-island spawn listed at the atlas. I have killed him 4 times and all 4 times he dropped the blade.
His "sporelings" (much smaller fungus men that sometimes spawn after his death) dont always spawn and thier numbers vary (2-4 that I've seen). As well other fungus men can spawn sporelings.
I didn't notice any super regen, but then I just dropped 3 starfires on him. He seems very resistant to magic as he reisisted a level 51 root several times. Thats about it for me.
