The Planes are older than the World of Norrath itself, right? (Speaking from an in character point of view.) Then would it not be sage to assume this sausage has been molding soo long the mold has formed a live plant around the sausage? That's right. Where's the beef? Somewhere inside that flower's stem.
How do you know that this plant doesn't go strolling around PoM proclaiming to be 'the Moldy Sausage'... a name is just a name, and it could feasibly call itself whatever it wanted.
looking thru the names of the npc's, I just had to look at this one. I expected a hot dog in a bun or something..you know...the hot dog that hops into the bun from the drive in movie intermissions? But, nooooo....it looks like a flower????? Doesn't look like a moldy sausage to me. Maybe I need to have a few more beers and then I'll see what Verant was seeing when they created and named this mob. What a strange zone. :P

Never been to the POM myself, but if I do, I am bringing a hero roll and some marinated peppers and onions, all moldy to go with this un-sausagelike sausage!!!
Of course it doesn't look like a moldy sausage. Mob graphics are constantly reused. That's why you will see the same type of bats whether you are in gfay or in solb. They make changes in scale, ie., tougher mobs are larger. But it's the same graphic.
This looks exactly like the erollisi bloodthorns you will find in EJ and TT. I suppose one could argue that if you roleplay you can pretend you are looking at an advanced mold that has a flower-stalk to release its deadly spores.
