Its a chess board folks.. (no at lvl 25 I havn't been there.. just look at the pics). Bishop is a chess piece. Plus if you want extra, Bishops wear a Mitre (a tall hat)... bit like this guy's cranium. But its not a chess piece, its a gorilla... and all the pieces look the same (eg named "a piece" and "some other piece"... very wry. Remember the Goon show? "have a gorilla... not thanks, I'm trying to give them up".
Yes, in this zone you pay for wackiness. Is it any less twisted than the sights in the Plane of Disease?
btw some of the posters need to go read "Alice through the Looking Glass".. chess, weird insects, talking flowers... seem familiar?

I haven't been to PoM yet but I notice after checking out all the mobs here, it seemes to be a zone just for fun and no mobs drop any loot. I think it would be funny though if VI made funny loot dropping, like lets say a 1hslash that's 30/20, but gives -20str -20sta -20dex. Or a really uber 2hslash weapon, like 45/40, and only clerics can use it, hehehe. Would be messed up but this zone allready is :)

I guess it all comes from the fact that bristlebane, the creator of this place, is a halfling and halflings are insane. Look at me, I'm a halfling druid and I'm dumb as a brick.

Yes, he's on a chessboard. There are other pieces on the board with similar, silly names, and most (all?) appear as gorillas. Or maybe just one team has gorilla graphics. The whole chess set is not there, however; it appears as though a game is in progress and one side is definitely winning. The only question is, is it Bristlebane's turn or yours? x)

ok the last part of hid name is thingy? this is so funny what was verant thinging when they named this guy? and i agree with what are you talking about. this has to go to the coolest EQ name ever, period. and why is it a bishop i mnea it's and ape for cryin out loud. this is the WEIRDEST and i mean WEIRDEST thing in EQ i've EVER EVER seen and i've got 3 lvl 45's. that thing is the weirdest one.
