Rare. The staff is the last piece i need to complete my epic, killed him like 5 times now, no staff so far ...

Just as a point of information, if he has the staff you will see it. He is wielding it!!

true dat, but by the time you see him, he sees you, and i guess u have to fight him now, and get some apothic armour for all tha poopy armour doods, like me

I have been to hate 25 times now and at 52 am just now only 2 peieces away from a full set of Apothic. And I have never seen this guy yet. =(

His spawn time is NOT like that of the other static spawns. I'm not sure of the exact figure, but he was not up during my last 2 Hate raids. My guess is that he's on a 24 hour timer at least, if not more.

as a lvl 47 mag I did not expect to have a good first raid experience..
The puller said that next INC was the mage mini boss, I was excited but never thought that as the only mag on the raid anything would drop for me...
Needless to say, he droped the robe and the crown AND the Staff!!!
I am probly the only person to be that lucky!!

I think on my third trip to Hate I walked away with the staff, the gloves, 2 bracers (4 droped total, but i had no need for 4), boots, and the arms. I was happy just to get the staff. The armor was just a bonus :)

but that post was probably a lie and a sick joke. level 47? first raid? and the only mage? i doubt this poster is telling the truth.
if not, you are probably the luckiest mage alive. robe and crown are the best peices in the set, and the staff too? ouch, ouch...

There actually could be truth to his post Noonie, last Hate raid i went on had 35 total peeps, 2 Mages, and one had his epic. Some guilds just don't have a lot of high lvl mages around, I know mine has only 1 that is into raiding often. Also saw a Fear raid with 1 ranger once, guy walked out with 4 or 5 pieces of Thorny Vine. It's rare to see a raid with 1 or 2 of a certain class, but not THAT rare.

He drops this for the mage epic. It also allows the mage to summon an earth pet post-50 one level higher than it would have been when held.

Spawns on first floor. His spawntime is like the static spawns (8 hours?) Drops 2 pieces of Apothic at a time, and can also drop the Mage epic staff thingy.

Second or first floor? Is his spawntime like all other mobs, or is he rare?
