If you get off the docks in iceclad, go strait out and a little to the right. You should see a tree up there, and on the far side, under the branches are the gnomes. From that tree, look to your left towards another tree with 3 cougar spawns under it. Stormfeather spawns pretty much right in the middle of those two trees, but a little further up the hill. Hope that helps.

If I ever met anyone that camped him for Talons I would have to strangle them on the spot. It's a yak for crying out loud. Go buy one for 150pp.
In total I have spent almost 8 days played camping him off and on for over 5 months. Looting Lodi map is the worst thing I've ever done. I do NOT reccomend this quest to anyone.
I would like to spend some time alone with the designer of this quest so I could rip his eyelashes out 1 by 1.

Traded the talons for a crusty BP about 5 mos ago. Gave the map piece to a 55 war. I FEEL YOUR PAIN BROTHER, I shoulda rolled on the boots

havn't been able to find claws for under 15K yet!
Really nice since they are one of the only claws that can be placed as secondary.
Makes a nice two handed clawed look if you have Icetooth (or simular) for primary

If you're on the hill facing the gnomes, SF spawns a little to the left of the tree and wanders up the hill.

So after a patch, stormfeather has a chance of popping 19hrs after or anytime after? then 19hrs after 1st random pop?

well I saw this guy for first time tonight after hunting cougars from lvl 32 - now 37. Had I realised the long spawn time I would have dumped the cats and went for the bird. The claws look to be good for my 24 ranger *evil grin*

i got this map peice when velious first came out.. kept it fer bout 1 year then trashed it not knowing what it was.. now time to camp im!

Started camping him at about 5 am today spawned at about 6:30 am just up the hill from the dice playing gnomes. Killed em solo got my map peice his talon and am now a very happy ranger.....now on to that dire wolf stalker!

I had a group of 4, 29 druid(me),32 druid,30 pally,and a 34 pally.I healed while the other druid nuked and we took him down pretty easily.34 Pally looted the map and i won the roll on the talons.:)

Don't feel like taking my 57 warrior over to camp him; so I've been thinking bout camping my 35 druid there. However, would a 35 druid be able keel him if he ever does spawn?

I camped the Sfeather, right beside the 3 gnomes playing craps, and Sfeather poped after 6 hours. He spawns up on the hill, behind the 3 gnomes. Further more he is very easy to spot. A big Griffon floating in the air. I was camping on the top of the hill, and he agroed me immediatly. The best place to camp is to the left of the hill under the tree where some cougars always spawns.
From there u can see him pop, and u are away from instant agro from the Griffon

Some druid was trying to kite this bird and could not kill. Told him bring bird to man and I would have my pet killed it.
Melee him to 2 buble of health and healed pet till he was dead. Got both map and claws.

Possibly the most camped mob I ever seen on Tholuxe Paelles 10:50pm log in to start a long camp and get the map piece..camped says he's gonna try to stay 3-4 hrs so i pick his brain bout what he knows.Log back in 3 hrs later..camped by nother PC..same thing..gonna camp spawn for 4-5hrs..so i pick her brain bout what she knows..
Log in 5am next morning ..PC is still there..logging in 2 hrs she says.
6:45 am New PC there camping Storm..says going to be there all day till stormy pops or she falls asleep..log in 4pm(took a nice nap)..Well, there's the monk in FD position..sent tell.no response..10minutes later guildie is trying to call her at home lol, she fell asleep.
Finally I take my seat, during this time I contacted the person whom I didnt see this am and she says she got him at 6:03am after a big grats I quickly do some mental math and realize its gonna be 1:03 am till next expected spawn pop, Grab a drink and sit back in my office chair for a nice long camp.
10pm My *** is hurting,I think the circulation to my legs is gone..not really sure ,cant feel em anyway anymore.
12Midnight OMG I'm going f%&#ing crazy,I've already killed 5000 cougars for 6 cougar claw earring,Seen Midnight 2x(club of ice ocean quest),and got my lore bloodstained fang. All this time my Guild keeps checking to see if he popped, "NO" is my hotkeyed reply.
Getting nervous,almost time and i found a lvl 1 ranger sitting below the hill,hmm..oh well.3 cougars took care of that prob.
1am pop time..got 2 guild druids there doing tracking just in case.no pop :(
At this point calculating when next pop would be. omg I cant do it again.Reconfirm time he was killed..Definately 6:03am when he died.Told guildie druids just couple 2-3 more mins

1:35 am Guildie has gotten WC port memmed,medded up and started casting when WHAM!

facts about Lodizal / Stormfeather:
Spawntime : 18 Hours after kill/server reset
skipping spawns : random but max 4
both mobs not up after a patch!
Eyepatch of Plunder worth it? : YES!!!
good luck and have fun with the pirates there... I had mine ;)

started out with no clue when SF died at last... so deceided to camp him...for 18 hours+... NO SPAWN! just skipped...well it's my last piece for the mask so I did another lap...18 Hours later... NO SPAWN!...really confused and still without clue bout his possible spawn window I camped another lap...18 Hours later still NOTHING! well...slain by sleep at this point...SF spawned 3 hours later and a druid killed him...map is of no use for him so it used to be a totally waste of time...but...i'll be back...oh well

I find this spawn information a little hard to believe. This would make him rarer than Garou, and I've actually seen StormFeather once -- and I've never seen Garou at all. It IS pathetic to wait that long for a spawn, and from personal experience people a) don't know when he spawned last or b) won't tell you if they do know. I keep hearing about how the majority of people playing this game are helpful to one another. I'm more convinced that the actual helpful people are as small a minority as the really awful, selfish people who train constantly and are just generally nasty. The majority of people are indifferent -- they will help you if it's not too much trouble, or if they somehow benefit from it (paying for looting rights to an item that the mob killer didn't even need is pitiful.) Of course, this doesn't apply to guilds -- my advice is find yourself a good guild if you want to get anywhere in this game.
Actually your right. He is rarer then Garou but that is because he is a timed spawn and skips randomly. He has no place holders and therefore cannot be forced to spawn. Garou has place holders on the other hand..the snow cougars on the island where the Tower of frozen shadow sits, his place holder is random however and requires that you kill ALOT of kitties before you finnally get the right one. It is realistic to expect about 4 Garou spawns in 18 to 20 hours if you run around killing all the cougars on the island as they spawn. The fact that they have chosen to make Stormfeather skip like 50% to 60% or so of his spawns makes this camp very difficult. However, the reward for compleating the quest is well worth the effort. The eyepatch is within the top 8 or 10 face slot items in the game and that is if you include items that were only given in test of tactics events or GM given quest. Removing those would put the patch in the top 5 or so.

I can't believe camp spawns for 12+ hours on end for stuff. You pay $10/month to sit on your *** and wait? What kind of entertainment is that? See a therapist.
Actually..just find out when he spawned last and time it..get there about an hour or so early to make sure you get the camp..unless of course some other "sad" person has been sitting there all day waiting and then you will just have to come back some other time..the only sad part about this whole thing is the fact that you were not able to figure out something so simple as to time the spawn..flaming peps in post isnt normally my thing but when you make you statements so general..well..you asked for it..and actually he is closer to an 18 hour spawn and if you ask around most peps will tell you when he spawned last so its not that difficult of a camp
Stormfeather popped for me at 6AM on the dot, November 5, on Saryrn. If my information was accurate, he spawned almost exactly 19 hours from when he was killed last. He does indeed spawn right up the hill from the three gnomes sitting under the tree. If you want to camp him, get there early and park yourself at the top of the hill. Don't log, don't leave, don't move. Over the 10 hours I sat and waited for SF to pop, no less than 4 people scouted the area, 1 of which came by repeatedly over the span of an hour or so, and 1 of which actually sat down and waited for me to leave.
i was hunting cougars at the dock last night, saw this spawn of track but before i could get to it to see what it was, some high lvl ranger had already killed it. i had wondered what he was doing just running around for a few hours, now i know.

Talons = 8/26 5str 5dex 5agi offhand claw only which is what makes them so special.

Numerous people have posted this same message and still people keep posting that they have them and love them soo much. Does this guy even drop a weapon or is this just some kind of joke, I mean someone should have been able to supply the stats for this thing. It's not even listed as known loot for this guy, I'm guessing its a hoax and he doesnt actually drop anything except for the map piece. Before people start to flame, just post the stats and I'll admit that I'm wrong. Until then I will continue to beleive that there are no actual talon weapon drop off of him.

Who cares about the Talons LOL I will give mine away, just give me that map piece! This face piece is massive, and do not let that rare map piece be destroyed, at least let someone loot it :\
