No longer drops FS Dagger. I've killed many hundreds of these and never seen one.

However, they do drop a lot more ornate than is listed. I've gotten several pieces of every type of ornate armor, including tunics, helms, wrists, sleeves, legs, gauntlets, boots, all for cloth, leather, chain, and plate. I've definately gotten chain, plate, and leather tunics / bp.

Inside Permafrost

Two things about the 'an ice giants'in permafrost, firstly none of them drop cash like the everfrost one do, and secondly there is a bunch of 'normal' ice giants conning (dark)blue to a 63, and some con green, but no normal ice giants are inbetween (specials like diplomat, etc do)
beast 50
# Aug 18 2005 at 2:41 AM Rating: Decent
Well I only decided to try these ice giants at lvl 50. It's mnot hard to get the ice giant camp, but i could see it being more competitive in the past. As for my experience, I can solo all 3 of them and be at 100m by the time the first one spawns again with the help of KEI. I start out with a slow, and let my pet tank while I put on listless power debuff. Once that lands I go into melee the first one. By the time the fight is over I'm anywhere from 50-60% health left. For the next fight I slow and debuff again, this time letting my pet solo while I heal up to 90%+ health. Once that is done the 2nd one will be down to maybe 40-50% area and I melee it down. My pet sometimes needs a heal after I have healed myself all the way up, but if its around 40% I wait. When I start the next fight I slow and debuff while my pet is hitting, this is when I throw him a heal, and myself if I'm below 60%. Then we melee it to death. When the fight is over me and pet will probably be 50% health each. We then go wait near 1st one's spawn and I heal my pet once. Then he will be good to regen the rest of the health before spawn. I heal myself up to about 95%+. All in all my mana after this cycle will be about 85-90%, leaving me just enough time to med it back to full before first spawns again.
Block of permafrost
# Sep 27 2004 at 2:20 AM Rating: Decent
I play a Barb Warrior, home being Halas, I spend a lot of time in and around Everfrost. Many times someone will kill the Corrupted Woolly Mammoth and shout 'ooc' if anyone wants the Chunk of Tundra for the Druid epic.
What I want to know is how come the same doesn't happen for the Block of Permafrost supposedly dropping from Ice Giants in Everfrost? A friend kills them regularly and has never yet seen one. I will need one soon for my Warrior epic.

Where can you get a Block of Permafrost from?

block of permafrost comes from ice giants in permafrost not ones in everfrost

Solo for Beastlords.
# Jul 01 2004 at 1:46 PM Rating: Default
Ok this is for 44+ beastlord to solo there way 49.You want get Mage girdle of magikot 500 hp pet belt, muzzle of mardu haste mask, fist of ixiblat 50 hp fists 150 nuke proc, phantom chain armor.Eight summoned mage bags 10 slot.Summon pet and fully buff with everything but the kitchen sink. Now once you full mana fire off your 20 nuke to ice giant.Send in pet and slow, once hes slowed just stay back and play cleric on pet we have 580 heal so heal away you cant melee these beasts they will smash you into the ground and your here to get exp and $$$$$$$$$ so you dont want waste mana healing yourself when soloing here.Pet will take a beating and you will sit back and laugh and just heal as needed.Rinse and repeat and watch $$$$$$$$$$ come in and exp to 49 for new pet and spells.Good luck and may eq gods protect Van Shir beasts.

mage solo
# Jan 30 2004 at 1:18 AM Rating: Default
with 51 earth pet and clicky burnout III and horse, mage can solo these very well and hold all 3 spawns. pet up, BOIII, send in, nuke (i used char each time, 44 shock would work too), after battle reclaim, pet up again, go after next giant while you fight. sometimes pet dies in the end of the fight, just resummon the next pet and use him to finish him off.

end up getting nice exp at 52, 6 packs of crap to sell, and about 900 in plat and a few thousand of gold silver and copper. adds up nicely, and a horse is almost a must here (that or good sow/selos).
ice giant toes
# Jan 01 2004 at 6:43 PM Rating: Decent
ice giant toes are worth a lot more to alchemists and people trying to get potions from them they are worth 10pp to 50pp each
