His respawn timer is likely four hours. I waited three hours on Yelinak TLP, in-era. I don't know when he last despawned before I had gotten there. The dragon despawns on turn in.
Well done Snudge. Many names like that exist in EQ that are combined. I think you hit it right on the head this time. Good history and lore, I bow to your knowledge.
i was reading something about french medieval stuff and found out something funny . Roland duc de Bretagne ( Roland is THE knight and evey knight at this time wanted to be like him he was a hero ) had a sword named durendal ( very famous cause the legend says he couldn t brake it when he was about to die in his last battle , he didn t want the enemy to take it so he tried to brake it on the rock and the sword never broke )
Stay away from him tryed to solo him casts a 1240 aoe Gflux olmost unresistable with over 300magic unbuffed got Gfluxed to death before i could run away and i,m at 7.4k unbuffed
"Greetings, traveler. I do not receive many visitors to my quarters here, besides the occasional unfortunate treasure seeker that often will make for a good snack."
I decided to go ahead with the text "What rare treasures?" and Rolandel then responded as expected.
1. He is on CoV faction. 2. He is part of the quest for the Circlet of the Falinkann. The quest is listed as being named "Ralgyn's Promise" because it begins and ends with a named wurm in Skyshrine named Ralgyn. Rolandol's involvement in this is he will identify a talisman that you get from Taskmaster Abyott in Great Divide. He doesn't really do too much else. Look up the quest to find out more. 3. When killed, he has NO loot, so wouldn't really benefit to kill him. 4. He does NOT see invis - I am ally faction with CoV, so I was able to walk right up to him without invis (I have done the Ralgyn's Promise quest, BTW) but when I had invis cast on me, he conned indif. 5. He is level 60.
There is a small trio of troll mercinaries along the wall before you reach Rolandal that are rumored to give positive hits to CoV faction. I cannot confirm this however as the trio was not breakable to me at 47 and I couldn't take all three at once.
I swear I was out of agro range when Invis fell on this guy.... got hit buy his chaotic weightlessnes for 1.2k I wasnt dead yet.... until I hit the ground for a nice 20k damage. Who says gnomes cant fly?
Um.. did those who replied even bother to read this post? Now I'm a low lev myself, never been to WL.. don't play with dragons.. but it doesn't take much to put 2 and 2 together here...
Reply 1 while correct seems to be missing the point. Yes.. while in invis or FD everything cons indifferent, the orig poster knows this... in fact it is the orig posters point. The fact it conned indifferent led them to believe invis was functioning.
Reply 2 makes little sense when you think about it.... if the people in question were invised (or actually had indiff faction) then the dragon would not have dispelled. No mob fooled by invis is going to bother dispelling invis.. that is common sense..
The question here is not 'how does invis affect factions' or 'how did my buffs go away'... chances are anybody high enough to die from a draggy knows this already. The question asked is 'why did 2 indifferent cons get themselves dispelled and turned into a snack?'
Again.. I know very very little about dragons so my answers are only speculation, but at least speculation on the proper question :)
For one.. although I would have never in a million years guessed Invis could work on a dragon it appears that is actually the case. But Invis is a very fickle thing.. as I'm sure anybody who uses it knows it doesn't much matter how long ago you cast it.. I've seen that 'You feel yourself starting to appear' message less than 2 seconds after casting was finished. Did you scroll up to check for this? Did your partner?
Then there is AoE. Perhaps you got nabbed in one of these?
I rather doubt being near him would be enough to trigger a disspell but I could of course be wrong.
Do you remember checking the screen pre-engagement very carefully after you died/zoned? Was he casting? Did inivs fade seconds before he dispelled? Are you absolutly sure invis did NOT fade for BOTH you and your partner? I could easily see one invis fading, aoe cast.. LOADING PLEASE WAIT...
Anyway.. sorry I couldn't help anymore than this... my knowledge of the zone may not be tip top.. but I do know how to read a question :)

at your level your invis' dont have a set duration. with that said it is possible that your friends invis just dropped suddenly (as they are known to do at times) without warning.
Just a couple of quick easy things to do to help boost your faction with CoV. If you can, normally every 8 hours Vindi pops in the back of the Kael arena, so it might be wise to get a faction hit on him. That is singly the best and quickest way of getting a faction hit for CoV...next to killing Tormax of course. DO NOT cast annul magic on him to get that faction hit either...you laugh but I have seen it done before on my server. If you are going to leech the faction like this...please at least have the courtesy of asking whatever guild it is killing Vindi at the time if you can get a hit for the faction. A good percentage of the time, they will not care as long as you don't interfere in the actual fight and you do what they tell you to do.
The other way is to participate in the 10th Ring War quest in GD. This will bring approx 100 giants in various intervals over the course of an hour or so into and through GD on their way to Thurgadin. It was a lot of fun the couple of times that I did it, and you can go around and grab a hit off of every one of the giants and gain some great faction with CoV and the dwarfs. I managed to go from indifferent to kindly during one of these fights.
I'm sure that there a good ways too, but these are two of the easiest and require less amount of work just sitting in the kael arena fighting your heart away for hours on end.
Tormax gives CoV and Yelinak faction, we've killed him almost every spawn for the last 4-5 times and CoV and Yelinak faction hits every time he dies.
Second off- Vindi gives very LOW CoV faction hit, about that of a frost giant or equal, please don't post information unless you verify it first, it confuses people into wasting their time-
If killing the right giants and not turning in a ton of giant heads for just coldain faction you should hit dubious to CoV shortly after you hit ally to coldain.
Something to keep in mind is not all giants give +CoV faction hits just as not all giants give +Dwarf faction hits. Some giants also give both and even different giants will give more or less amount of positive faction hits for CoV.
In theory you could go from kos to ally in say 10 faction hits if all 10 faction hits were from Tormax - extremely unlikly but possible.
Tormax is not on CoV faction, actually. The faction hit from Tormax is +Yelinak, +Dain (not Coldain), -King Tormax (duh), and something else, -Kromzek i think. Killin Tormnax aint the way to go to hit Ally for CoV. Ally with Yelinak? yes. Best bet seriously is, as posted above, to hit vindi upside the head.

The ******* is lvl 60 or something. I ran by him going to SS and all the sudden my hps when down real fast as I was thrown to the air. Hit me with chaotic weightless 1250 dmg Smack. I ran like hell to the ss zone and made it alive by luck. I shall always get an invis in WL from now on hehe.
".... Once you have these items hand them back to Rolandar along with the talisman and you will recieve an Imbued Talisman. Go back up to Ralgyn and hand this item to him. It will result in the Circlet of the Falinkan."
The quest is listed on EQlizer in the SS Quests. I wish someone would post it here.
Yes he does have a quest. I am warmly to CoV and when i hailed him he gave some message talking about others who came for treasure, when i asked about the treasure he gives a quest that involves killing some dragon in Dragonnec. Hope this helps some
he dropped nothing when my guild (sacred Omen) killed him(cheap ****) i dont think he sees invis, must be dwarf by nature cuz they all have that twitch problem wit their eyes

He is NOT 55, he's red to me at 54.. however he is a white dragon i wonder is he had dragon loot? He does NOT see invis, he has some eye sight problem or something and he has a short aggro range, his beaming white ars you can see for a LONG ways he's not hard to miss he is along the (north i think) wall from kael to skyshrine (right wall from leaving kael to skyshrine)about half way. Not sure what the quest he gives is, a month ago i left for vacation came back and my iksar monk who was warmly to skyshrine.. his faction was reset to default (same faction as a lvl 1 iksar) after 5 months of faction work all gone the GM's told me to get over it and they wouldnt do anything so i cnt check what quest he gives.. good luck
has a low agro range? not really, I was about 100feet away from him when i see him walking at me, i run but then i see Rolandal claws YOU for 202 points of damage Rolandal claws YOU for 173 points of damage Rolandal kicks YOU for 54 points of damage You experience chaotic weightlessnes. You have been hit for 1264 damage. You have been slain by Rolandal You LOOSE a level You are now level 33 Returning to home point LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... You have entered Thurgadin
