Stumbled on these guys yesterday with my 40 Paladin, and they aggroed. Redwind HT of course, which took a bit of health from me (scared me for a sec until I realized he was SK). I then proceeded to destroy Redwind fairly quickly. His pet went next, in about 2 hits. Then I took on the Icy Orcs. I couldn't tell exactly which were spellcasters and which were melee at first, so I just started going at it. The casters will cast numerous times on you, and they cast dispells, malaise, and a few other things. The dispells were the biggest nuisance. Anyways, I killed them all for aggroing me, but they did get me down to about 2 bubs of health. Didn't get much cash though, and Rune of Ivy did drop, for anyone that needed it. BTW, Redwind was light blue, rest were green.
There is a weird thing i found out about things that you fight. When you are a higher level things con blue to you longer than they con red and yellow. Just kind of found this weird. Desert mad man con light blue to me at oasis and i am a lvl 18 war elf. Just kind of something to think about.
Mobs in general are tough. So lower level mobs are still a large danger to you. Something like 3 quarters of your level and up to 1 level below you are trouble enough to con blue. Now if they are a danger then levels above you will be real deadly. Yellow usually means, you may fluke winning, but not likely. 3 levels higher than you is generally too powerful to solo, hence the red con.
That's just a generalisation of course. The level of dificulty changes depending on class, gear, stats and player ability.
This camp can be solo'd by a single level 30 Bard because I've done it. It's not great XP per kill at that level, but it's good, steady XP over time with 1-4pp per orc sometimes.
Just lull every one of them. Then I use Charm to bring each one out to a couple hundred feet from the camp. Then ramp up the magic resists by the time the Charm breaks. Once you're fighting the orcs you should be running your slow song to slow their attack and movement speed. By that time any spells cast by these orc melee shamans are practically useless. And the slow song reduces the amount of hits they get on you dramatically. And when they turn around to run they crawl away from you until they stop in snare-like fashion. A few stabs in the back and they are gone.
When you get to Redwind you need to make sure that you Charm him, and have him attack his pet. He always Harm Touches that pet. He's still under your control for a few seconds after he does his own pet in, so draw him out to the spot and use the same resist and slow method that brought his brethren down.
Songs: Kelin's Lugubrious Lament (to lull) Solon's Song of the Sirens (to pull) Purifying Rhythms (to resist poison and disease, slight AC boost)) Guardian Rhythms (to resist magic, slight AC boost) Selo's Consonant Chain (to slow target's attack and movement speed)

do they give out ring of scale faction? they re supposed to according to the description but i never got any faction hit with ring of scale from them...
The description is wrong. I have been killing these orcies since ages past, and NEVER had a Ring of Scale adjustment ..... and I am KOS to that damn banker in Halas!
Con red to my 22nd ranger; was up there for the rune and with a group of: 24 druid, 23-24 wizard, 24? warrior, 24? druid and myself. We did them easily, pulling two before we had to rest. THey smacked me around pretty badly when they hit (50% of the time) but well worth it. Fine Steel weapons and some odd wing stalks which only sold passably well.
These orcs are among the best place to camp for anyone lvl 25-34. Wouldn't recommend soloing til about 28, but still good in groups. Loot is FS weps and anywhere from 1 cp to 4pp. They are not as camped as the dungeon spawns either. Don't be a wolf though, or TJ and Iceberg will send you back to the Stone Age. Hope this has been helpful.

If you are an evil race, or otherwise have pissed off the Wolves of the North, be wary hunting here. Tundra Jack and Iceberg wander by about once every half hour (unless someone is killing them).
You can safely sit up the ramp on the temple itself, as you have a character's-width or so edge before the closest orcs aggro, and while there you are also out of TJ and Iceberg's aggro range.
hehe, well, they're pretty easy now at 26th lvl, but when i first set foot in everfrost back at 14th... MAN did that icy orc kick me into the middle of next week ! :)
Icys can be tough.. but after lvl 25 as a mage with a good earth pet I can solo them. ( tried redwind.. only made it with a lil help *ouch*) But I wanted to say , solo OR with a group.. (2-3 people) these orcs are GREAT for xp..I mean My guild hunts here ALLOT forthe 21-29 lvls. why? Yeah.. bit boring.. but good spawn rates.. decent loot overall, and GREAT XP and NOT all that crowded.. at least on Rodcet Nife. MUch better than that damn aviak tree which is camped 24/7. Icys are better xp anyways.. Grae (known as Wildet Manaweaver lvl 28 (ALMOST 29) mage) Norraths Power guild.
The icy orcs only spawn in one place in Everfrost, a decent sized platform under the giant statue. There are 4 icy orcs and Redwind. Redwind is a shadowknight that can still kill me solo at level 35 (ranger.) While facing Redwind from the front, the orcs in the left front corner and the right rear corner will be warriors, while the other two are shamen. Great xp up to level 35, and occasional fs. Redwind also drops an ivy rune used for the ivy bracer (I think.)
Yes, Redwind drops rune of Ivy. He's not that tough though..after his harm touch that is. At 35th lvl you should be able to easilly solo him with your ranger. My 29th lvl warrior has taken him out solo plenty of times. (after getting a frind of mine to harmony his buddies that is.) He's great exp also. Drops up to 3 pp and sometimes FS..same as Icys. I managed to move my warrior while grouping from 22 to 29 in one week.
